Obama’s Health Care Play

Jedediah Bila

By Jedediah Bila, Author and Political Commentator

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Act 3 of President Obama’s “I Hear You and Couldn’t Care Less” health care play.  There’s just one little problem:  He’s not an actor, we’re not in a theatre, and your health is at stake.

Obama’s address to the nation on March 3, 2010 was replete with the usual elitism and misinformation.  Our professor—I mean, President—stood proudly in front of six medical professionals, five of whom were dressed in bright white coats to add a little extra “See, America . . . you can trust me” effect.  And then, of course, he lied.  Again.  And again.  And again.

The address bore all the authenticity of a typical Obama town hall—you know, the kind where the audience smiles, laughs, and nods at all the right times.  The President’s tone was a mix of haughty and didactic (shocking), and his facts were a little . . . ummm . . . dead wrong (even more shocking).  Despite the fact that Rasmussen reveals that a mere 25% of American voters say that the country is on the right track, President Obama is plowing right through your unhappy voices and doing what he wants.  That includes resorting to reconciliation to pass his health care bill, despite his declaration in December of 2005 that “Reconciliation is therefore the wrong place for policy changes.”  He also said this in 2007:  “We’re not going to pass health care with a 50 plus 1 strategy.”  So much for saying what you mean and meaning what you say.

Make no mistake:  Obama’s health care bill is not the decentralized, patient-centered, market-driven approach that most Americans have been hoping for.  It represents big government at its best.  If it passes, the winners will be government bureaucrats.  The losers will be you and me.  Our choices will be limited and our liberties will be compromised.  Medicare benefits will be slashed significantly.  Government—the same government that has tanked our educational system and turns a simple stop at the post office into your worst Saturday nightmare—will exert unprecedented influence over one-sixth of our economy . . . and over the health of you and your family.

Fox News is reporting that the National Republican Congressional Committee has begun a “multi-front communications effort” to apply pressure to key Democrats.  Expect town hall meetings and tea party rallies to pop up as freedom-loving Americans prepare to fight for their liberty.

In 1961, Ronald Reagan said this:  “One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine.  It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project.  Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.”  Reagan also reminds us that James Madison once affirmed this:  “Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations.”  Enter the Obama bill.

Obama’s bill is not about controlling costs.  And it’s not about caring for the needy.  It’s about changing the fundamentals of our country and tightening government’s grip over your everyday life.

Our President isn’t tone-deaf.  He hears you loud and clear.  And he couldn’t care less.

Re: Chairman NObama Speech to The Nation, March 3, 2010

So sympathetic with their pathetic leader, the drive-by media didn`t give enough, if any, attention to a more important event on March 3rd, Charles Ponzi Day.
Mr. Ponzi made a historic contribution to the world of politics, by providing a blueprint for FDR to create his new & improved Ponzi scheme, Socialist Insecurity, aka, the politicians` job protection scheme, which equates to NObama`s healthscre scheme, that will create tens of millions of dependent constituents to vote for (D)ependency Pary candiates in 2010, & re-elect NObama in 2010.

Why is Obama still President ? He is dishonest, has done things that are illegal and still he is in office . If we would have done the things that he has done we would be in Jail or dead.
I can’t believe what happened in the Car Zar situation. Do the Democrates fear Obama?

I have been wary of AARP since it was founded years ago after reading some conservative comments about it. I turn 50 in a month and have been pitching everything from AARP and I am glad there is a Senior’s Organization working for the Seniors with a Pro American and Conservative Mind Set.

Excellent job, Jedediah. You expressed so elequently what many of us understand and feel about the current situation.

My husband and I both thought it was over for Obama when the Rev.Wright episode became news. We still can’t understand why more Americans didn’t see into the future if he were elected.Go figure!

Thank you Jedediah. Your piece simply echoes the feelings of millions in this country, yet the liberal media continues to shine on this most unholy administration. We’ll keep the Tea Parties going down in Texas. God Bless!

Please, do we have a choice and who can stop this. It seems to me that not anyone is listening to the people.
May God help us all

I have a mind of my own just reading this does not make me believe it. I find so many weak minded people who believe anything someone tell them. If this article tell you the world will come to an end at a certain date and doctor it up with spiffy words as in the article. Than all of you who read this will surely believe it. Why don’t you take it up on your self and do your own research. You not only owe it to yourself but to your children and your children’s, children. I thank God I am not a follower and I have a mind to make my own decision and not just fall apart reading anything put before me. That’s a drastic approach to a bunch of weak minded people no wonder our nation is in the mess it’s in. Don’t forget we all pay taxes that’s no bother to me.

Of course he is an actor. That is really all he is. Don’t think for a minute that he is really an idealogue. He was groomed by the CIA to betray the American people’s trust. Start your tour to truth here: http://christiansfortruth.net/KRS1-says-Obama-frontman-of-NWO :-)

Same holds true for Americans – we witness the corruption and the feigned deaf ear and blind eye. We watch in horror and disbelief yes and it hurts however, in a short time Americans have mounted a Resistance and our Rejection of a pseudo-president who hears loudly and clearly but his only concerns are – “Question my policies (Oh really? We Constantly HAVE!!! ) but dont question my abilities OR Citizenship” Bonzo! We most certainly Do question your legitimacy mr Barry Soetoro — WE DO!! On top of the mountain of purposeful destructiveness to our nations economy and the attempts at over-reaching governments just limited abilities. I question you mr Soetoro and I want swift response! Be you legit or be you jailed for life!

Thank you Jedediah. At last someone is speaking the truth instead of insulting our intelligence. hajiinobama is a fool and has brought nothing to any of us except higher taxes, attempts to impose a not wanted health care plan and has allowed others to do as they want in congress, pelosi for example and her private air force. hajii needs to go and maybe he can find his just reward with allah living in Iran with Ahmadinejad, an equally excellent lier.

The power to tax is the power to destroy. These tax proposals are destruction on steroids.

Right on Jedediah!
Once again you have summed up in a couple of paragraphs- what the President is trying to put over on us. Thanks for making us aware.

It’s a challenge! Americans don’t shrink away from difficult times. Leadership comes from the bottom up to the top. I don’t need someone to hold my hand through a challenge. We all commit to do something more than make noise and we can return the country to its right course.

GOD gave us Reagan for direction in 1981 and He will do the same again along the road to ridding ourselves of the Community Agitator.

what can we expect from an avowed socialist? this poseur the country voted into the white house is promulgating…guess what? a socialist agenda. but what was the alternative..hillary! same agenda, but with feminist complications. germany in ’33 was similarly trapped with the same power vacuum and wound up with hitler. our country needs a national hero in ’12(eisenhower in’52). the only one i see on the horizon is gen. petraeus. but his public policy positions are unknown; God grant they are consistent with ours.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
