Obama Leaves U.S. $9,335,000,000,000 Deeper in Debt

from – CNSNews.com – Terence P. Jeffery

President Barack Obama will leave the federal government approximately $9,335,000,000,000 deeper in debt than it was when he took office eight years ago, according to data released today by the U.S. Treasury.

The increased debt incurred under Obama equals approximately $75,129 for every person in the United States who had a full-time job in December.

The $9,334,590,089,060.56 that the debt had increased under Obama as of the close of business on Wednesday is far more debt than was accumulated by any previous president. It equals nearly twice as much as the $4,889,100,310,609.44 in additional debt that piled up during the eight years George W. Bush served as president.

When Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009, the federal debt was $10,626,877,048,913.08.  As of the close of business Wednesday, it was $19,961,467,137,973.64. The final debt number for Thursday, Obama’s last full day in office, will not be released until after Donald Trump is sworn in as president on Friday.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 124,248,000 people in the United States with full-time jobs in December. The total federal debt of $19,961,467,137,973 equals approximately $160,658 for each one of those workers. The $9,334,590,089,060.56 that the debt has increased under Obama equals $75,128.69 for each one of those works.

In addition, he gave our tax money ( exactly $21 mln) to the terrorists from PLO at the last day of being in the Oval Office (read at Yahoo.com). So, Paul is right – he did a lot to destroy our friends and to pay to our enemies. So, how would you call this person, my friends?

Obama did nothing for 8 years except spend taxpayer dollars and what did he accomplish – nothing except run up the debt, the most of
any President in history. I guess this will be his legacy. He got what he wanted for 8 years, vacations, playing golf, Mrs. Obama’s separate
trips, etc.

Sounds like high paying welfare to me.

But ….. but …. but, the Liberals say he saved the economy! He created gazillions of jobs. The country is booming! The stock market is higher than it’s ever been. Hallelujah, Stimulus saved the Universe! We’re swimming in money like never before! Yeee-haw!

So why did he need to borrow $9,000,000,000,000 to pay for his glorious social programs?

Where did most of that plunder actually go?

Better question is who is on the hook to pay it all back? You can bet it isn’t his imported millions of illegals and Muslim “refugees”.

It’s US, every day America. AND those hapless. feckless, ignorant, mal-educated Millennials that stupidly put him into office.

But try telling them that. They’ll just scream “RACISM” in your face and dash off to their Safe Space with their binkie and color crayons. God help us all.

It is frightful that obummer shifted much of the “plunder” to despotic nations (documented in the case of Iran) and Islamo-Fascist factions. ISIS was beneficiary due to Iraqi soldiers abandoning all the military hardware left behind by the US base (which was ordered abandoned by the prevaricator-in-chief). Also, he engaged in nation building in Libya by funding and arming various factions which led directly to the Benghazi blow back. There is evidence of “gun running” between Libya and Syria.

Actually, you hit the nail on the head. Every one else is up set about how much this debt is, but no one is asking WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO!??!?!? Who got it. Certainly we know (very little) some of of it went to taxpayers through the stupid , ” Cash for Clunkers” and the little publicized “cash for appliances”. But what about the rest of it? Who received it ?? Solyndra CEO< Who else ?? Who was scheduled to receive this last batch of $225 million that was destined for Palestinians, this past week. I could not be happier that Trump is "outing" so much of what has been wrong for so many years. I never thought, in my lifetime, we would see a president saying that we are giving the USA back to the people. I thought we were doomed to the voters always voting for the candidate who would give them the most. The "Most" came very close to running out!

Trump plans to examine our federal government structure — eliminate wasteful spending and duplicated agencies and services; also to pass on much power back to the States. BUT, their remains the cost of our huge monthly DEBT SERVICE. I wonder what ideas the new administration has to deal with that — we are ALL paying for it in our taxes, which Trump has termed ‘excessive.’ Hmmm…

As far as the national debt goes, there is nothing to be done after the fact but pay what we are already obligated, as a nation, to continue pay back. Any attempt to either renege or change the existing terms of repayment we have previously agreed to when other nations financed our debt, would result in a massive flight from the dollar on a global basis and over-night increases in both interest rates and inflation here at home that would ruin this nation. Just look at what either action has resulted in when other countries tried either approach. A devastating picture of human misery for the citizens of those countries. The federal government would survive, but the average citizen would be quickly impoverished. Sorry, but not even Trump can materially wave a magic wand and fix this one. His best approach would be to slash government spending and eliminate as many unnecessary regulations and taxes, so the economy can grow and we can potentially pay down the debt a bit faster,

The time for the American people to express concern and take action over the reckless spending of Obama and the Democrats was when Obama was doing it. To hold massive, nation-wide protests for as long as it took to force the Republican cowards in Congress, if necessary, to actually exercise the power of the purse to shutdown the federal government, as many times as was necessary, to prevent adding almost $10 trillion dollars to the national debt. Instead there were no massive protests from the public. I can’t even recall one major protest, either measured in tens or hundreds of thousands, in Washington, D.C. being staged in protest to the massive spending of the Obama administration. The Republican leadership was allowed to whimper in the corner while McConnell would routinely come out and say something along the lines of “We don’t want to blamed for a government shutdown, so there is nothing we can do.” All while Obama kept spending more and more taxpayer dollars and running up the national debt at breakneck speed.

Our republic depends on actively engaged, motivated and educated citizens to survive and prosper. Far too many people have the misconception that the only obligation they have is to show up at the polls every two or four years. That what our so-called elected representatives do or don’t do supposedly on our behalf in the meantime isn’t really something they need to be either aware of or hold their representatives accountable for. That is how we ended up where we are. If those of us who voted for Trump truly want change, we all have to be far more engaged in ensuring the government runs properly.

The left has no problem mounting massive, phony protests all across this country to supposedly show their outrage over one thing or another. Certainly we should be able to do far better at demonstrating our resolve on the issues to influence and prod members of Congress. Yet no equivalent protests ever materialized after the initial Tea Party protests.

Look at the incoherent babblings heard from the various protestors this weekend. They can’t even agree on what they were protesting for. Those interviewed could barely form a coherent sentence, much less articulate a valid position against anything on Trump’s agenda. The celebrity speakers had to read off of pre-written texts, so they wouldn’t embarrass themselves worse than they already did. Yet there were millions of these idiots on the left. Yes, Soros paid for the organization and transportation of about 50 of these groups around the country, but all the weak-kneed politicians saw looking out their windows was the massive crowds. Unless these politicians see the equivalent from our side on a regular basis, they assume that they better listen to the lunatic left and not try to change things too much.

Would love to do more, but most of us on the right have jobs we can’t just walk out on to protest. I write my Reps and Senators when I can but how do we mobilize when most of us live pay check to pay check thanks to the leftest policies we’ve had to deal with for far too long?

Hi Carol,

No one says protests have to be scheduled for during the work week, Monday through Friday, when most taxpaying people on the right can’t attend. This weekend’s series of useless protests in several cities against Trump, by the left, were scheduled for the weekend. All so the Soros organizers could maximize turnout for the mainstream media. Who did their part by running endless loops of the screaming protestors interspersed with supportive commentary from various progressive media hacks masquerading as either news anchors and unbiased journalists.

Remember the old adage of the squeaky wheel gets the grease? Well in political terms, politicians respond to those that can assemble the biggest crowds to make their concerns known. If the only people that ever show up are on the left, then our weak-kneed politicians in DC will continue to be spineless. All most politicians see when they turn on the TV and see large crowds assembled is just potential voters. If those crowds are identified as supporting various progressive causes, then those politicians are less likely to take any action that might offend what they perceived to be a large voter base. Politicians, especially those in DC, need to see an equally large response from the right on a periodic basis. All so they feel they won’t be jeopardizing their re-election prospects by supporting either Trump or a conservative agenda. Yes, most politicians are completely self-absorbed with their own careers. Hope that is not a surprise. So that is the ultimate value of the periodic large protest crowds in today’s political environment: Giving politicians in Washington the courage to do what their supporters sent to Washington to do.

The only reason the Republican Party took notice back in 2009 and 2010 of the various Tea Party groups and their agenda was because of the massive crowds. Politicians saw potential voters. Suddenly the Republican Party saw there support for something other than the Obama steamroller of transformative socialism. Republican leadership resisted, but various members of Congress started to show a little spine and gradually the Party’s direction was influenced. Unfortunately, the various Tea Party groups have largely melted away into little more than non-stop fund raising groups with web sites and periodic newsletters of little value. Still they accomplished their original purpose before becoming irrelevant and replaced by the current so-called populism.

If you can’t go to demonstrations, increase your letter writing and, of course, pay close attention to what’s going on – do not depend on the MSM to give you correct info. Research. Let your voice be heard in some manner and do it often.

Who says Obama didn’t accomplish anything in his 8 years in office? He was extremely successful in weakening the economic fabric of this country by nearly doubling the national debt and undermining capitalism and the living standard of the vast majority of the American people at every turn possible during his time in office. That has been one of the goals of “cutting America down to size”, at least from the economic perspective, of the Socialists and Communists in this country for over a century now. So from the perspective of economically weakening America to make it less exceptional and successful than the rest of the world, Obama achieved far more than any of the other Progressives that have preceded him as President.

One would hope this staggering figure would serve as a wake up call to the whole country about how ruinous socialist policies can be to a nation’s long-term economic health and standard of living. However, as we have all clearly seen since President Trump was sworn in, a significant percentage of the country NOT only does not see and understand how progressive policies have caused so much economic and social destruction to our nation, but these “useful idiots” are desperately and sometimes violently clamoring for a continuation of these same ruinous socialist policies.

I can only hope that Trump sticks to his word on his campaign promises and does at least 50 to 75 percent of what was outlined in his agenda. That he, with the help of the American people who voted for him, can force the Republicans in Congress to support and pass his agenda. I am under no illusion that Democrats will be anything but obstructionists to virtually the entire Trump agenda. It is the complete opposite to everything they believe in, Their leadership has stated as much. So anyone still clinging to the notion of bi-partisan support and working together to solve America’s issues needs to wake up and stop living in a fantasy world.

The United States today is two diametrically opposed countries living in the same geographic boundaries. The east and west coasts, along with large parts of Illinois and Michigan, the so-called Blue States have essentially become enclaves of socialism believing in the unwavering power of the government to cure all perceived wrongs, real and imagined, and manage all aspects of society. The rest of the country is pretty much what would be described as traditional America. These two distinctly different groups share almost no common ideals or beliefs. Their approach to how to address and resolve the issues that this country faces are polar opposites. The goal of the Blue States is to become exactly like the socialist democracies of Western Europe. The Red States are primarily concerned with preserving traditional American economic and social values, so the country can once again become the economic powerhouse it was that offered the most opportunities to its citizens. So to expect the Democrat and Republican Congressional representatives in the House and Senate to reach some kind of happy middle ground, when there is NONE to be had, is unrealistic.

It will be a long, hard slog lasting potentially decades to fully restore this country to some semblance of what it should be economically and from a societal basis. Many in this country have been successfully brainwashed to view socialism / communism as not only beneficial, but preferable to capitalism via the our public education system and the mainstream media. They will not be swayed or reasoned with over-night. Many will never come to understand how flawed socialism is. No matter how many real-world examples are presented to them. So we not only face an economic challenge going forward, but a societal one as well. Hopefully all of you are prepared to do your part to make America great again, because you cannot just expect those in Washington to do all the work themselves.

Well said PAULE. The “useful idiots” do NOT CARE what the burden is on the government (translation: taxpayers). In their minds it’s someone else’s problem not theirs.

PaulE, excellent post, clear and concise. Now, if only all America, and all the world, for that matter, can read it. I pray that Trump accomplishes all he promised. But, I’m sure it will take more than his first term.
God Bless America.

Extremely well put. Too many don’t remember the cold war, air raid drills, Korea, etc. Too many just have their hands out. Everyone does NOT get a trophy in real life.
