RNC Flirts with Turning 2024 Primary Debates Over to Left-Wing Media

AMAC Exclusive – By Seamus Brennan

According to a recent New York Times report, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is actively in talks with left-leaning networks like CNN, CBS, and NBC as prospective sponsors for its 2024 presidential primary debates.

Could the RNC possibly be more out of touch with its voters?

“In an intriguing show of détente, the Republican National Committee has asked several major TV networks—including CNN, a regular Republican boogeyman—to consider sponsoring debates,” the report states. “Party officials are also in talks with executives from ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News.”

Those same networks’ handling of the Republican primary debates for the 2016 cycle should disqualify them from consideration this time around. During the October 2015 debate, then-presidential candidate Ted Cruz famously channeled Americans’ frustration with the glaring biases of the mainstream media. “You know, let me say something at the outset. The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” Cruz said in a perfect distillation of conservatives’ exasperation toward the increasingly activist media complex.

“You look at the questions: ‘Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain?’ ‘Ben Carson, can you do math?’ ‘John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?’ ‘Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign?’ ‘Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?’” Cruz continued. “How about talking about the substantive issues people care about?”

Of course, since the 2016 presidential primaries, the media’s credibility has only sunken further.

Throughout Trump’s presidency, Americans witnessed the propagation of an endless series of lies, hoaxes, and contrivances manufactured by the media for the sole purpose of smearing Republican officeholders and sullying Republican voters. The entirely discredited Russiagate narrative, the outrageous smearing of Brett Kavanaugh as a serial rapist, the dismissing of the COVID-19 lab theory as a “racist conspiracy theory,” and the thoroughly debunked narratives surrounding the events of January 6 constitute just a few notable examples.

The media then doubled down on their forfeiture of credibility during the 2020 presidential cycle. The general election debates between Trump and Biden were a comedy of “gotcha” questions aimed at Trump while the moderators lobbed softballs for a clearly struggling Joe Biden.

Then, with weeks to go until the election, the same media engaged in the blatant spreading of disinformation and open censorship by suppressing and discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop scandal—which many conservatives rightly consider to be an instance of brazen election interference.

But the media’s propensity to fake narrative-building and hoax instigation is not limited to attacks on Republicans. For years, media forces have propped up lies about the COVID pandemic, slandered innocent high school students as raging white supremacists, and aided in the schemes of left-wing figures to propagate false accounts of systemic racism.

Given all of this—and everything that voters have witnessed in recent years—why would the RNC delegate a major part of the presidential selection process to networks actively committed to destroying Republicans?

Prior to the January New York Times report, the Republican establishment had shown promising signs of avoiding a debate process controlled by left-wing forces. Last year, the RNC voted unanimously to exit the Commission on Presidential Debates.

“The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates, including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage,” Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel declared in a statement, referring to the fact that the moderator of the first presidential debate in 2020 previously worked in Joe Biden’s Senate office.

But given the news that the RNC is now likely to enlist precisely the same “biased” entities to orchestrate the Republican nomination process once again, it appears McDaniel’s words were nothing more than empty rhetoric. Given the open hostility—even hatred—CNN has for Trump and other leading Republicans; one has to wonder whether elements of the RNC are intentionally setting up one or more Republican primary candidates to be targeted by the network’s moderators.

If GOP leadership wants to retain the trust of its voter base, conduct a fair debate process that reflects the voices of conservatives, and, most importantly, defeat the Democrat nominee in 2024, it must reject the hopelessly biased and corrupt mainstream media establishment.

Republican voters will not—and should not—tolerate anything less.

The RNC has been in bed with DNC for a long time. This probably surprises no one.
Drain the swamp people, stop voting in the same politicians who do not have your best interests in mind. What a ???? show

Unfortunately the organizations starting, as low as the county level, are primarily interested in power and has little regard for grassroots Republicans. I was involved in caucuses as a delegate years ago and saw this first hand. If you weren’t part of the “elite” you were treated with disdain.

This is total bull and why I choose not to donate to the RNC any longer. They don’t have the American conservatives interest at heart at all! I want to watch on Fox or Newsmax!

I personally believe that if Ronna McDaniel allows the debate to be held on the obvious bias networks she should immediately be removed from her position. She would deliberately sitting the Republican Nomination up for unfair questions and attack. I truly hope she will stop this nonsense. If people truly wish to watch debates they will tune them in regardless what network is airing the debate.

I have not and will not donate one dime to the RNC until they show some type of real action on behalf of the American people and not just a lot of lip service. Also when they stand as a United front instead of being so divided and get rid of all the old time Rhinos that only care about their position, power and money !!!

Fire MCDaniels and vote out RINOS! I have always voted for the conservative candidates but I’ll be dammed if I will give one penny to the RNC. Instead, I will donate only to specific candidates.

I had donated to the RNC years ago. But my belief in them changed several years ago and I have not seen anything since that would change that. I like to read and found a book called “the great American Awakening” by senator Jim Demint. I vaguely remembered him, but it sounded interesting. The book has a lot of behind the scenes info about what went on and what goes on in DC. It was eye opening to me. Demint was definitely an outsider disliked by both parties. He started the Conservative Partnership Institute which only supports true conservatives. If you have time, check out the book and their website. You might find it interesting also.

The Republican National Committee is considering having Left wing media sponsor the presidential primary debates for 2024. ( ? ). Isn’t that really interesting ? I’ll answer my own question with that one , yes it sure enough is interesting. Thanks for reporting this Seamus. I suppose it could be said that one would think that there was more than enough of strange, unusual , out of the ordinary going on since 2020 , apparently there is more in store . It would be far better to have a right wing news group under consideration for the 2024 presidential primary debates. Seems like a common sense matter, I hope there is enough common sense still around to do what is right in this debate sponsor deal. I do not believe in complaining, it is comparable to going around in circles. It is much better to provide a suggestion , an idea that will help to improve what needs improvement, or fix what needs to be fixed. There are some intelligent, respectable Republicans with the RNC , hopefully they will do what is right in this debate matter, and get on the right course in order for things to go in the right direction to a right destination in the 2024 election.

I don’t donate to the RNC anymore and changed my registration from Republican to Independent Conservative for exactly this reason. The RNC and the GOP in general are weak and can’t seem to think strategically; seeking popularity in a ‘contest’ when we are actually at war with the Communists. So, my money goes to conservative candidates and not Winred, GOP or RNC in general.

Absolutely ridiculous. First McDaniel is elected again after running for an additional term over how long she said she would serve. The actual voters did not want her, just the donors, and now wants debates to go to media that are divisive and dishonest. I think the RNC wants us to form our own party and split the vote so the swamp stays in charge. Disgusting!

1) Anything being reported by the New York Times has to be questioned as to whether it is truth or simply, yet another fabricated lie put forth by the leftist news rag to try and gin up yet another false narrative. A simple declaration by the head of the RNC in the next few days on ALL the major news networks would either confirm or deny the claim. The ball is squarely in McDaniel’s court and the clock is ticking.

2) If by some ludicrous chance that the New York Times report is actually accurate, it would of course signal that once again the Republican Party is working overtime to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by playing right into the Democrats’ hands by going, yet again, with Democrat sponsors and moderators masquerading as unbiased debate moderators. It would signal to all Republican voters that the Party doesn’t want to even try to win in 2024. At that point, it would be up to the American people if they are willing or not to take the next logical steps in a situation where they have been effectively disenfranchised from representative support within their own government. Do I hear the sound of sheep echoing in the distance?

Perhaps the RNC wants to broadcast to citizens who aren’t already going to vote for them. This is like complaining about missionaries preaching to non-believers. How do you expect the GOP to gain any supporters if they only speak to supporters?

That’s why I stopped donating to the Republican National Committee. They’re going to let the nasty fox guard the henhouse??!! This is insane–they might as well just hand over the White House keys to the dems!

Ronna McDaniel must insist on at least having an equal number of conservative journalists join the idiot liberal moderators for any chance of getting our platform across to the American voters. If there is no ideological balance, hold roundtable discussions (for a deep dive into R policies) between conservative journalists and the R candidates, leaving out the D’s altogether. If D candidates want to join in, they play by OUR rules!

This is absolute lunacy to give the debates over to socialist media moderators. Crazy…what are they thinking?

I may be dumb as a rock but it looks to me as if the GOP is jumping in bed with the demos and they like it .No more you ,me and the GOP against the left but now it appears like you and me against every politician trying to secure their future by working all sides of the system.Testing the water??? Biden can destroy a lot in two more years. God used Cyrus to save Israel. We need Trump to save America. How many false charges can be brought to the dems just like they tried against Trump. Think of the time and manpower needed too clear their name??? Marshal law if war coming

The only reason the RNC would consider this, is in hopes that if questions were real, honest and correct political questions, is to try and reach the idiots, who only watch these networks. Also it would then prove once and for all how biased the billionaire owners of these networks truly are.

Sounds like Ronna McDaniel has been bought off. That would be the only possible reason the left wing media would have control over anything republican. It is looking more all the time like we are going to have a one party nation. Of course that will be the last of our freedom. This is really disgusting, but only God can save us now, we are too corrupt to save ourselves.

Wow! Very interesting and sad. I believe the goal is to defeat Donald Trump at all costs. Even the Republican leadership wants to defeat Trump. The Republican Party is extremely deceitful. It will lose more voters. There needs to be a new political party to battle against the Republican establishment. I heard there is only one political party with the Democrats being the left wing and the Republicans being the right wing. We need to have a real choice to elect candidates to represent us.

Your state RNC representatives voted overwhelmingly to reelect Rona McDaniel Romney to be RNC leader. What did you expect?

The more I get involved in my local GOP, the more I see how corrupt it is. It’s all about manipulating the base to think the party is fighting for us, meanwhile doing nothing except encouraging donations to ensure the party survives without changing anything.

There should be an even number of questioners for the debates. Half for each party – and completely partisan. That way Democrats finally get asked some tough questions by the conservative questioners – which there never are any of. No change for Republican candidates – they get grilled every time. Make Tucker Carlson one of the “moderators”.

CNN should be removed from any consideration – zero credibility. I would like to see an independent approach… think about streaming it on something like Rumble. Solicit some questions from constituents and then assemble a panel of actual journalists to put forward questions and follow-up. If you really want to make it even better – have a few fact-checkers on the side for real-time challenges!
