NYT Reporter Slams Media Integrity

A former New York Times reporter has demonstrated the “Russia Collusion” story was not just a sham, but represents another nail in the coffin of media integrity. His past reporting on China adds vital perspective on Biden, China, and the media’s coverup of ties between the two.

Sometimes history does a loop on itself,  the way the old “spirogyra” disks allowed children to trace circles within circles, creating a complex, overlapping picture with colorful intersections. Understanding them can be hard, but also important. If you can believe it – and this may be the nub of the thing – China is a living mirror for loss of objective US media coverage, on everything.

In 1999, a New York Times reporter won the Pulitzer Prize for a remarkable series of articles, detailing how the Clinton Administration allowed the transfer of highly classified satellite technology to Communist China, for money. The articles were shocking.

In 10 powerful reports between April and December 1998 – a midterm election year – by the intrepid reporter, Jeff Gerth, explained how the transfer to China occurred, posing major “national security risks.” Gerth’s 1999 accounts of China’s tenacity – peeled back by a fact-focused media team – were illuminating. After China punched money into 1996 congressional races, aiming to tip them Democrat, China targeted highly classified satellite technology.

Gerth’s 10 articles were entitled: “Companies are investigated for aid to China on rockets,” “Democrat fund-raiser said to name China tie,” “How China won right to launch satellites for the US,” “US knew China military used civilian satellites,” “China said to reap gains …,” “Pentagon Inquiry faults missile maker’s Chinese aid,” “Evidence of China Plan …,” “CIA Ignored reports of payments to Chinese for satellite contracts,” and – the punchline – “House Panel Says Chinese Obtained US Arms Secrets.”

Now, wind the clock ahead. In the first quarter of 2023, we learn that President Joe Biden – whose son was in the pay of Chinese entities – placed highly classified documents on foreign operations in his garage and office, which it turns out was underwritten by a university paid millions of dollars – by China.

In fact, by all appearances, the elder Biden’s office and salary look like a “passthrough” from China, since tens of millions were given to the university, which built Biden’s DC office and paid him a salary.

But that is not all. These classified documents – still not fully described, discovered in non-business locations, and kept secret through midterms – may have been accessed by the son of the former vice president, who was working with the Chinese.

Put all that on the backburner, however. Just keep it in mind, as the last two sets of facts are recalled.  Also this quarter, we learned about China’s hard-to-believe intrusion on our national security – with high altitude surveillance balloons, at least one of which was not prevented from entering US airspace, but allowed by Mr. Biden to transit sensitive military locations.

All this is highly disturbing, and warrants congressional investigations, and action. But the irony – the last circle drawn – is the one that came out last week.

Last week, the same New York Times reporter who earlier revealed China’s links to the Democrat Party, access to satellite technology in the 1990s, and won that Pulitzer, completed a 24,000-word series of articles in the Columbia Journalism Review. The series flays the New York Times and modern media – for misleading the American people with a “Russia Collusion” story that fundamentally altered the way our nation saw a sitting President and hamstrung his ability to serve.

All this is shocking – yet in some ways not so shocking. What this reporter – and those like him who remain focused on truth – confirm is: The American media establishment is corrupt, as if we did not know that already. Real reporting has been replaced by false narratives, easily promoted, an extension of political activism into newsrooms. Gone are honor, honesty, and a pursuit of truth that once characterized the profession.

Most remarkable: Jeff Gerth’s new report – which defends truth and slams the modern media, comes at the same time another Democrat president allows China to spy with impunity. We are seeing the collapse of integrity among America’s elites – political and media – in the mirror of China’s rising influence. The slide is reversible, but will require renewed concern for national security, journalistic integrity, and media literacy among American citizens.

It’s a democrat disease. China pays the democrat in power to cure this disease in return for freely spying on our digital technology and now our weapons locations. Clinton did it, O did it with Iran. Why?
To annihilate America in the Third World War. Remember by 2030 you will own nothing and you will be happy or dead. Deadline is fast approaching.

Not to be picky or take away from the seriousness of this article, which I wholeheartedly agree with, but the name of the children’s toy was Spirograph and Spyro Gyra was a jazz group popular in the early 80s. Keep the facts straight, no matter how small!

For over 90% of today’s outright lying/gaslighting/propaganda spewing Commie/Globalist owned/run media, it is hilarious to use the words media and integrity in the same sentence.

No real surprises here but it’s nice to get the detailed facts. Unfortunately, this article, as good and as thorough as it is, will not be disseminated through any mainstream media as was done so well in the past. Ironic isn’t it? I’m passing this along to do my part but it’s an uphill battle.

Sadly too many of our politicos are paid off by the CCP. We desperately need to vote third party. The uniparty is worthless. We also need term limits yesterday.

There are a few–but only a few– legitimate “journalists” left in the United States. Most are “news readers” or propagndists.

Our MSM, main stream media, is just a propaganda machine. They parrot what they are told to say and put in print. There are extremely few true journalists that search for both sides of the story and print just the facts.
The lesson is from Stalin’s Russia and the only version (his) of news was allowed. We are just now in that same brainwashing climate.
How disgusting to see in print in the “news”, that we are a democracy! They (journalists) need to go back and restudy our American History and read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We are a Republic and the States need to reassert their rights and limit this Federalism that has become so bloated and corrupt.

It probably wouldn’t be very nice if I say that some people involved with the Russia Collusion BS should be tried and executed. For treason.

The media has failed the public repeatedly. Take the conflict in Ukraine for example. Its HARD to find any story showing that it was the US that initiated the conflict most assuredly when US Intelligence agencies funded and actively recruited LITERAL Nazis to overthrow the Democratically elected President of Ukraine back in 2014 and then installed their chosen puppet who on the orders of his US masters went on an ethnic Russian cleansing campaign that has killed more than 15000 civilian Ukrainians since that lovely coup. Early in 2021, yep, last year both Brandon and Kamela both publically stated their goal of bringing Ukraine into the NATO sphere. In other words moving armed Western military power right up to the Russian border which was something that was long promised to never happen.
So again the US has brought death and destruction to another country and people primarily to enrich large political donors and the corporations that fund them.
Arent you proud?

Oh yeah, and now that Russia is about to destroy what is left of Ukraine despite EU countries draining their finances to fund the corrupt green clad grifter President of Ukraine, suddenly the media is deflecting the attention of Americans by gallons of ink and hours of televised coverage over “evil balloons” and “unidentified high altitude craft”. They lie and laugh at us over how purile their reported incidents can be and yet still manage to use the idiocy to change the public narrative.
What is next? Killer birthday clowns?

Biden has been lying for so long he doesn’t recognize the truth. I wonder where all of the money came from for those multimillion homes. Does the media understand how they affect us who love this country? Are they being paid by the democratic mafia? Yet, there are still people saying they will vote Democrat every time instead of who would be best for our country. Sad.

In times past most Americans had a desire to make the world a better place for those who would come after them. What kind of a world is the main stream media going to leave to the next generations? Don’t any of them have children or grand children? Do they actually think there will be no consequences for helping dictatorships gain power in the world?

Sorry JMLR who is the obstructionist here. Brandon who has no plan for America and won’t sit down with the reps. And then accuses the reps of doing nothing. Brandon can’t have it both ways although he thinks he can. Just yell a little louder seems to be his way to get his point across. And lies cement zijn governing.
Let’s talk again when they, I mean the dems, come for you.

The question America should be asking and DEMANDING action on…is that Biden has committed High Treason! Why isn’t he, who knows full well what his spawn has done and is in, and may in fact have opened the way to more destruction of any security we may have left, being arrested for deliberately endangering this nation…would what just happened and apparently is still happening, not an out right attack on our national security??? Gleaning information as they fly their spy balloons?
China because of democrats and rinos, at the very least, has glutted the market with cheap junk, but more dangerous than one spy balloon, are more being sighted, not to mention whatever else our enemy Xi has done. The Communist China dictator is not America’s “friend”! Who’s to say the Chinese dictator isn’t entertaining sending bombers over our Fruited Plain??

They have none. Those that do, are quickly drummed out. At school, or if they manage it get that far at work. If they can even find a job.

They push political narrative (stories, fantasy etc..) of the day, minute or second. Whatever is politically expedient, not news, anything BUT news, For that YOU DON”T WANT INTEGRITY.

That is never going to change. They are too far gone to ever come back. Too much money and power at stake.

China has sure gotten its money’s worth out of the Democraps and their last three Manchurian Candidates-Clinton, Nonama, and the Obiden Crime Family.

Funny how they all came to government as low to middle class and are now 1%ers. All of media and Democrap committees are able to steal the tax returns of a former president-who donated his salary-and make them public. Tit-for-tat, I want to see the tax returns for the Clintons, Obama’s, Biden’s, Pelosi’s, Schumer’s etc., etc., etc.

Fortunately there are still a few good reporters that can think for themselves. Unfortunately the media companies own the reporters and the scripted dialog that they are committed to.

None of this is new to most conservatives. In their eyes, the media lost its sense of integrity long ago. I NEVER watch the evening news on TV anymore. I haven’t in years. I simply don’t believe anything they say. Unfortunately, many Americans still do. They are responsible for Joe Biden and his leftists, for Hilary Clinton. The question is, what will it take to reverse the media’s loss of integrity and its dishonesty?
