Biden’s Energy Disaster

Any way you slice it, Trump’s energy policy was a success, Biden’s an unmitigated failure. Put all else aside. Numbers tell the real story. Unwritten is the final chapter – November 2022.

After just two years of Trump, in December 2018, the United States became – for the first time in 75 years – an exporter of energy. That stunning fact was a credit to the private sector and policies favoring free markets, innovation, competition, fair taxes, employment, low inflation.

Across the country, even as renewables rooted, fossil fuels were not repudiated. Instead, America’s capacity for energy production, responsive to supply and demand, was tapped.

Domestically, this elevated oil production in Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania. Jobs in extraction, refinement, transportation and last-mile delivery jumped.

Internationally, OPEC’s leverage over the United States, economically and politically, vanished. Reinforcing that positive position, the Trump team isolated Iran with sanctions.

The impact was immediate, and consequential. At home, heating fuel and subsidiary product prices fell, job growth radiated, and energy independence created re-investment.

Abroad, dominos began to fall. Western Europe began to see the US as a source for natural gas, began thinking of realignment, away from dependence on Russia. Resistance to peace accords in the Middle East weakened, bilateral economic bonds tightened, political accords got signed.

On the renewables side, while Trump found the Paris Climate Accords untenable, legally unenforceable, one-sided, weighted toward redistribution of US wealth, the US private sector continued innovating, ironically matching or beating many of the climate accord’s goals.

Then came Biden. Promising to end US reliance on fossil fuels, no consideration for US consumers and energy sector – key to everything – he slammed brakes on energy independence.

No accident, Biden halted the Keystone XL pipeline, pushing that energy to other countries, robbing Americans. He ended oil and gas leasing on federal lands, valuable to Americans.

Through elevated regulation, taxation, economic isolation, Biden kneecapped American fossil fuel production, ending energy independence, to magically make America carbon neutral.

Of course, that is a fairytale idea. The irony was acute, as US unemployment popped, employers went out of business, innovation ended, OPEC swung into action, Russia resumed pressure on Europe, China joined – pressuring countries like Lithuania, and energy costs started to climb.

Dreaming of carbon-free everything crippled American consumers with energy inflation, gas at the pump, heating oil, electricity generally – even before this winter. Biden’s team asked OPEC to raise production. OPEC laughed and stuck it to him – meaning to us, the American consumer.

Russia – incredibly given permission for Nord Stream 2, a pipeline making Europe more dependent on Putin – flipped Biden a hand gesture, and began amassing troops along Ukraine.

Back at home, Biden’s energy follies are about to debut – a hammer blow for struggling Americans. Credible economic analyses, including by US Energy Information Administration, assess “heating costs for American families will increase by 54 percent this winter.”

In detail – even before the inflationary impact of overspending – we are in trouble. Those heating with natural gas will spend 30 percent more, 50 percent more if the winter is cold.

Those heating with propane will pay 54 percent more, 94 percent more if the winter is colder. Those heating with oil – most of New England – will pay 43 percent more, 59 percent if colder. See, e.g., U.S. Energy Information Administration.

So, what does this mean? Another major misjudgment by the Biden Administration. They have answered critics by suggesting COVID money will help, use of the national security-focused petroleum reserve, and – while China gets a pass – climate control means shiver and pay.

We will see if that strategy works. American families – tens of millions – will be paying more for energy – thanks to Biden. His approach is objectively a fool’s errand, poorly conceived. It has crippled the US energy sector, ended independence, spiked energy costs, added to unemployment, encouraged adversaries, punished allies, and is putting America at risk.

All this need not have happened. It is just more proof the Administration has no idea what it is doing, pushing ill-conceived macro-policies, free money until inflation consumes our dollar, and putting an increasing number of hardworking Americans of all parties in harm’s way.

This winter promises to be a budget buster, testing America’s capacity to stay warm, solvent, and resilient. We did not need this but are here. Grab a blanket. Welcome to Biden’s energy disaster.

I laughed when I first heard that biden had begged OPEC to release more oil to drive down global energy prices. What a fool! What an idiot!! Here we have enormous sources of energy on our own soil, and yet he grovels at the feet of the OPEC ministers. This must appear so comical to them.

It doesn’t make sense, but it does appeal to biden’s sycophants who crave net zero emissions but don’t mind if they spew into some other country’s air. Isn’t clean air “fungible”?

Some of the news reports claim that electricity will rise only 1% in each of the next 2 years. Uh, beg to differ! Our electric monopoly will raise rates 8%, if I remember correctly, in that period of time. Lots of us heat with electricity, not with natural gas, propane, or oil. And with those prices increasing as much as they are, I doubt if the electric company will stop at 8%.

The only reason a sane person would ever again vote for the Democratic Party is if they’re either anti-American or insane. That party needs to fade from existence since it doesn’t put America first. It’s as simple as that. They’ve clearly demonstrated their inability to govern.

As someone who regularly travels to Europe, I have seen first hand what these so-called “green policies” do in real terms. Energy costs to the consumer (electricity production and usage, transportation costs, home heating and cooling costs, food prices, home construction standards that require expensive renovations to homes to be “energy and emissions compliant”, etc.) are up nearly 5X now when compared to 2010 and the costs are still rising.

For those of you out there that think things are expensive now and that you hope costs will moderate, just remember we’re just beginning our journey to catch up to what European leaders have done to their own people in the name of the “climate change” scheme. Most households have downsized appliances in a bid to try and lower their monthly electical bills, but that has proven to simply only slow the rate of additional money they have to spend on a monthly basis as utility costs continue to rise. The middle class all across Europe is literally being squeezed out of existance in the name of trying to achieve “zero carbon emissions” by the dates their leaders have pulled out of a hat. So if you think things are expensive now, I hate to break it to you but you haven’t seen anything yet. There is always multiple news stories in the local papers of people either freezing to dealth or dying from heat stroke, because they simply couldn’t afford the cost anymore to heat or cool their homes. That is something most U.S. news organization rarely, if ever, bother to report here as they tout “green policies”.

China, India, Russia and most of Africa have no desire to slowly destroy their own economies and bankrupt their own citizens in the name of “climate change”. If anything, China sees itself as becoming the world’s major source for all materials and most finished goods related to supporting a EV and low carbon future. They already own or control between 70 and 90 percent of all the crucial minerals and refining operations world-wide for the “zero carbon” future the leaders of he world are hawking to the public.

Everything DC does is corrupt and hurts America. We need to start supporting our local business and manufacturing any and every time we can. That means for me I pay more sometimes so I do with less. That’s okay, I don’t need 50 Pakistan or Chinese shirts, give me 4 good ones made here in the USA. All my dairy comes from local farmers, not big producers. Make your dollars matter and to he!! with DC and the anti American slime politicians.

I wish there were a way to forward this article to Joe Biden’s personal message or email box. Then maybe the little lightbulb would go off and n his head and for once he would discern the truth.

Biden/Harris administration needs to be removed from government. They have no idea on how to run a balance economy. And they only been in office 11 months. How is this country suppose to survive with idiots who can’t do their jobs. Who in their right mind voted for these thefts. Americans need to wake up before China takes over us.

To all who respond to these articles….does it bother you to have scammers plying their lies about getting rich, in the comment section? Look at this one by Sara2…..if you agree with me, that these people should be filtered out of the comment section, let AMAC know…..we don’t need a ponzi scheme in our faces. This kind of thing pops up over and over again in many articles and are not part of the conversation….I have sent a notice to AMAC, and hope more of us will do the same and rid the comment section of these con-artists

The biggest threat to world and national security was destroying America’s ability to be the world’s leading oil exporter. We took the necessary revenue for mischief away from the actors (Middle East, Russia et al) whose desire is to destroy America. Trump also proved to the Chinese he could destroy their economy with out firing a shot. Of course he had to go! Progressives can’t live with peace and prosperity.

Listen to all the feckless leaders around the world that are all a part of this BBB business. They are all preaching the exact same thing because it is a script all of them are following. The global corporations own everything we wear, what we eat & what we digest from the news…All of them gathered together before the planned in advance pandemic became a reality & they actually used a Covid virus of worldwide epic proportions as an example of how to do The Great Reset… The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Open Society Foundation of George Soros & lastly The Clinton Foundation are all key players in what is going on globally right now…The Deep State of Washington, DC runs independently of any political considerations, let that sink in for a moment. More of the same on the global scale…The current faux president is powerless, he doesn’t fire or hire anyone, let that one sink in for a moment once again…
The game plan is for a globally operated form of government that controls everything by the year 2030… What will this mean? The individual will no longer exist, everything goes to the state, you lose your home & all forms of wealth gets confiscated because the corporations own the banks too, they always have, truth be told.. The NWO gov’t will provide you with everything you need & you will be happy… All the black violence that began in earnest in 2020 was all part of the plan by the Deep State players, get everyone pitting against one another, use racism as the newest tool to achieve this end. Dumbing down the education system all across America, this has been happening for decades now & it has only recently come to the surface, American history has already been rewritten in most schools textbooks to put the United States in a negative light where our children are concerned. Now enter the latest new tool in the DS toolbox, enter Critical Race Theory or Racial Diversity or Racial Equity, all one & the same, it is pure racism being taught in our schools now, K-12 & our liberal colleges have been laid to waste in the form of indoctrination centers. They now accept students with 8th grade reading skills & the corrupted school boards play a big part in all of this, for the next push is for the elimination of grades all together… Welcome to early but quite advanced theory of the NWO, playing itself out in a school near you right now, sadly enough… :~(
Bill… :~)

Joe Biden and the rest of the liberals are the bane of this nation right now. I’m non-partisan but I am a conservative. I haven’t seen any real viable candidates up for election that I’d vote for anytime soon these days. Everything’s falling to the left, the liberal agenda. I’m not a fan. But then again, I don’t have to be. I just have to keep voting my one vote whenever I can.
