NBC News Amplified Adam Schiff’s Misinformation

NBC news amiplified Schiff Adam misinformationNBC News left key context out of a YouTube video sharing House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff’s opening remarks at last week’s committee hearing on the whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump.

Schiff fabricated Trump’s words in his statement, in a performance he later claimed was a “parody” of Trump’s conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

But NBC News provided YouTube viewers with no indication that Schiff’s remarks were inauthentic.

“Watch Rep. Adam Schiff’s Opening Statement On The Whistleblower Complaint,” reads the title of the video, which has already racked up more than 42,000 views on YouTube.

The video’s description reads, “Watch House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., delivers [sic] his opening remarks at a hearing on the whistleblower complaint filed against President Trump.”

NBC News did not post video of Republican California Rep. Devin Nunes’ opening statement. Nunes is the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, while Schiff is the committee’s top Democrat.

An NBC News spokeswoman did not return an email seeking comment.

Schiff has faced criticism for the fabricated dialogue.

“If the facts are as damning as you say, why make up dialogue for dramatic effect, even if it’s a parody as you say?” ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos asked Schiff on Sunday.

Schiff treated the question as a distraction. “Well, George, you’re right, the call speaks for itself and it is plenty damning, but let’s not pretend that this is really what the president is upset with me about,” the congressman said.

President Trump sharply criticized Schiff’s performance on Monday and suggested Schiff had committed treason, though the president incorrectly described Schiff’s statement as illegal.

“Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people,” Trump tweeted.

“It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason?” the president added.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), should resign — first as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, secondly as a congressman. He’s a disgrace. He has dishonored his oath of elected office as well as our nation. He’s a pathological liar, always seeking the spotlight and never met a TV camera that he didn’t like. His malicious attacks against President Trump are without merit, even though Schiff himself is deluded enough to believe his own fabrications and embellishments of the facts. That NBC News would pretend to give any credibility to his recent statements by twisting the narrative to hide the truth is hardly a surprise; this is routine for the Fake News media. It was Adam Schiff who assured reporters on live national TV after the release of the Mueller Report that there was credible evidence of President Trump’s collusion with Russia (even though Mueller’s own investigators couldn’t find any after a nearly 3 year probe). Schiff lied then and he’s lying now. Nothing he says can or should be believed.

Trump gave Shift exactly what was needed today. A swift kick in the rear. DC and the swamp need to be told at least once a week on tv that its corrupt and lazy.
Trump is exactly the guy to do it. Thank God. Trump is the only person who can do it. The rest of the Repubs wake up every day thinking “please like us” and
“please don’t let us get in your way”.

So where is the button to add my name and email address to the Formal Complaint to NBC News? Their actions are unacceptable. They are intentionally slanting the news to put a Liberal spin to this story. I have had problems before with NBC news and the Today Show’s reporting and may have to get my news elsewhere in the future.
