word to the wise friends…..DO NOT GET SUCKED IN TO THIS MEDICARE ADVANTAGE NONSENSE. IT IS NOT WHAT IT IS CRACKED UP TO BE. IF YOU GET A SERIOUS ILLNESS IT WILL LET YOU FALL. JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE START HEARING THE BAD NEWS ABOUT IT.
We need to use SENSE as well. People like my son, who is NEVER going to come off Medicare/Medicaid because of severe disabilities, are asked to verify with REAMS of paperwork very very often, taking time away from his necessary care–and then the State (PA) LOSES the paperwork and repeatedly threatens us. All his other care hinges on this. Also, the State requires a yearly dental exam (good) but will not sign with providers who can do the work–instead causing families to pay up to $25,000 out of pocket to put him in the OR under sedation, when (there is ONE provider in 3 states, who travel to do special needs dentistry, can do it in the office for a pittance, and take excellent care of him) they have a provider willing, able, and excellent–that they will not sign with (yearly battle) because “no one needs that service.”
The people who truly need help should be getting it easier, faster and better. The rest should be taken off the rolls and some simple SENSE applied to the whole program.
Not going to be, though, because it’s one of the biggest ways to keep people voting Democrat.
I get really livid when I watch the ads on TV taunting all the new “freebies” that people can receive through Medicare. What most of them don’t tell you is that you have to be on both Medicare and Medicaid to receive these free benefits. It is quite obvious that most of the people (actors?) in the ads probably do not qualify for Medicaid, or should not. We who do not qualify for Medicaid are left with the bill for all the freebies while we pay through the nose for what benefits we receive. Just another example of how politicians, especially Biden and the Democrats, have taken programs meant for good and totally screwed them up.
You are right, those ads are so misleading. Only a few percent of folks qualify for those things. It’s a bait and switch, getting you to call so they can sell you some other plan. Obama messed up the insurance of millions with his obamacare fiasco. Now Biden thinks he is going to help with wasting more money on give aways at the expense of others.
The medicare benefits aren’t free. they pull benefits from rx coverage to get dental and other benefits. Its a trade off. I checked into one if those plans and 3 of my meds wouldn’t be covered. Everyone I have talked to was nice and not pushy. I stayed with my good ol regular medicare.
You are so very right. I’m 72 and can’t get any extra benefits. It’s such a shame that we have to pay for all of the lazy people and all of the illegal aliens.
I believe the time has come to insist that our law makers be held accountable for laws they make simply by removing any and all exclusions they make for themselves. How are they to by considered as “equal representation” if the laws they pass don’t apply to them? (This should include removing their ability to vote themselves raises…) This could go hand in hand with setting term limits.
Ok now tell ME as a Citizen what can I do to stop this Insanity? I try to vote Republican in my state of Maryland which is mostly Democratic and full of Liberals . My vote is useless to change anything!

Don’t feel alone, feeling your fed up attitude in Colorado. When I was in the work force, every paycheck I worked for had an $80 deduction for Medicaid. This went on for the thirty two years I was working for a living. Now did I get to use those deductions for myself and family? No! I was taken for $160,440.00 over the course of my employment, getting nothing in return. I had to pay out of pocket for our medical insurance needs, and still do in retirement. Talk about being a pissed off tax payer, count me in!
Hey, it’s just the Democrats way of bankrupting both programs faster. Then they can tout the “benefits” of how single-payer will magically solve everything. Democrats don’t do anything without a reason or end goal in mind. The faster the Democrats can crater both Medicare and Medicaid, the faster they can “race to the rescue” with single-payer and start implementing all those lovely “denial of benefits” to withhold expensive drugs and treatments.

As a Republican I get so angry that those we elect aren’t as “smart” as the dems, who vote together FOR their party line! Why does the republican party accept RINO’s and give them a R label , then vote the dem talking points?? Kick them out so we don’t vote for them!! The obama care mess was the first strike at that idea. They were very sure ” Hilly ” and her gang that this was the only way to get a 360 full coverage and everyone on the gov’t dole and I mean everyone. hey were most likely the recipients of the majority of the excess premiums that were being paid for the obama Care programs. That all the freakin Insurance companies bought into so quickly. Still can’t comprehend how they were duped so easily into doing all that nonsense. The whole obama care game ruined many a good Insurance company and hurt many others. The firm I worked for at that time dropped all health insurance benefits and told the employees here is 150.00 a month go out to the obama care market online and buy yourselves some health insurance for you and your dependents. So not being in a group any longer I lost the leverage there and my insurance premiums were 600.00 a month, and $5000 deductible annually. What else was there to do? I had to have health coverage. That whole process just about ruined the country, with so many millions of families pulling money out of savings and out of the budgets to pay for that worthless coverage. what a supreme joke they pulled on us all. That is where this medicare garbage is going as well why not just leave it well enough alone its working don’t try to fix it.
