Eco-terrorism

AMAC Exclusive – By Andrew Abbott

An odd story emerged from a small rural community in northwestern Ohio this week as police reported that between 25,000 and 40,000 mink had escaped from a farm in the area, causing chaos on a nearby highway and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Soon, investigators discovered that a fence had been deliberately cut, allowing the small carnivorous mammals to leave their enclosure. Nearby, someone had painted “ALF” and “we’ll be back.” The letters presumably referred to the Animal Liberation Front, a radical animal rights group that claimed responsibility for releasing a much smaller number of mink at the same farm a few years ago.

While most of the mischievous creatures were eventually recaptured, thousands remain unaccounted for, and transportation workers have just finished cleaning carcasses off roadways. Although mainstream outlets like the New York Times and Washington Post picked up on the story, they depicted the episode as a curiosity rather than what it actually was – a deliberate act of eco-terrorism that caused real economic harm to both the mink farm and residents in a blue-collar midwestern town. It was hardly the first time that the media has ignored the disturbing rise of radical acts of left-wing lawbreaking and “environmental justice” in recent months.

Perhaps the most high-profile incidents have come from Europe, where the group “Just Stop Oil” (JSO) has engaged in a number of harmful and destructive acts that highlight the dangerous extremism of the far-left environmental movement.

Earlier this month, JSO blocked a major roadway in and out of London, demanding that the British government halt new oil and gas projects. Activists climbed gantries above the highway, forcing it to close in several places, and caused hours-long traffic jams. Nearly 700 JSO activists have also been arrested for gluing themselves to roadways, leading to scuffles with frustrated motorists.

As British journalist Dan Wootton has pointed out, these activists are far from legitimate peaceful protestors, and are a real danger to public safety, calling them “green militias” in an opinion piece for the Daily Mail. The activists “apparently caused a police officer to be knocked off his motorcycle and injured when two lorries crashed in the chaos,” he reported. “And that’s before you get to the countless missed hospital appointments, destroyed business opportunities in a cost of living crisis, mass inconvenience caused to hardworking ordinary Brits, and even a grieving man being sickeningly denied the right to be a pallbearer at his own father’s funeral.”

Just Stop Oil was also behind the high-profile vandalism of priceless artworks. On October 14, two activists threw tomato soup at The Arles Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh and then glued themselves to a wall. Less than two weeks later, another pair of activists glued themselves to another painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer. Thankfully both paintings were protected by glass and, therefore, not damaged. But the willingness of these “green militia” members to go to such extreme lengths to advance their radical agenda should be alarming to both political leaders and ordinary, law-abiding citizens.

Though thought leaders on both sides of the political aisle condemned their actions, some sympathized with and even celebrated them. The left-leaning online publication Vox rationalized the activities with the headline: “How Many Van Goghs is One Earth Worth?” The article outlined opposition to destroying art while still calling the vandalism an act of “brilliance.” Other climate activists praised the group’s actions because of the large amount of press they generated.

Traditionally, publications do not extensively publish the demands of groups that engage in acts of destruction or terrorism. Doing so is tantamount to rewarding the protesters for their destruction and may even encourage future actions or “copycat” movements. Yet mainstream publications gave explicit details about the organization, their various manifestos, and even quotes from the vandals.

The New York Times had perhaps the most unsettling response. Shortly after the vandalizing of Sunflowers, the outlet published an op-ed by one of the most prolific eco-terrorist apologists in the world, Andreas Malm, a Swedish professor. He applauded the activists for their intent and creativity, stating, “We cannot afford to forgo creative methods that might further the cause.” He continued: “As a rule, I tend to think sabotage is most effective when it is precise and gritty. When activists from the same group smashed gas stations in April this year, they hit the nail on the head.”

Malm was made famous for his 2021 book; How to Blow up a Pipeline: Learning to Fight in a World on Fire. The book calls for climate activists to engage in extensive acts of eco-terrorism against the fossil fuel industry on a global scale. Further, he blasts activists who eschew violence as “ineffective.”

Notably, JSO has repeatedly threatened “escalation” if their demands are not met. The media seems content to dismiss these threats as mere posturing. Yet far-left groups have an extensive history of escalation and violence. In the 1990s, several anti-logging groups placed iron spikes into trees that caused chainsaws to “kick” out. Several loggers were significantly injured as a result. Arguably the most famous U.S. domestic terrorist organization, the Weather Underground, eventually issued a “Declaration of a State of War against the United States”. More recently, other eco-activist groups have engaged in terrorist actions like slashing the tires of SUVs and destroying a natural gas pipeline worksite.

As these attacks become more extreme, so too will the consequences, both in terms of economic fallout and real material harm to innocent people. These young activists have been raised to believe that the destruction of the Earth is imminent, and they are the last line of defense to prevent the extinction of the human race. When a group is indoctrinated two such a high level of fanaticism, an escalation of violence is often not a question of if, but a question of when.

Most eco-terrorists probably haven’t read the Christian Bible. God gives clear instructions how to use, replenish and respect nature – including fossil fuels – for mankind’s benefit. Destroying to protest destruction merely results in more destruction. Instead, create new and better solutions to what is perceived as a problem. Thank you.

A thought came to mind while reading this article. The Russian nord stream pipeline was blown up. How difficult would have been that the these eco terrorists, (exactly what they are) was part of the that under water destruction? That incident is causing millions of Europeans to not have heat thru the winter. Just a thought.

These people are dangerous because they are too ignorant to understand what their actions cause. There will always be radicals, let’s face it, but until the law starts being used against these idiots, they will continue on. They prove nothing and accomplish nothing, except proving how totally stupid they are.

If these organizations like ALF are so proud to take credit for their vandalism, then they should be sued and fined for all the costs involved in restoring the art they damaged and for the extra police actions required to reroute traffic, etc. After a few $millions paid in fines, these organizations will no longer have the money to “further their causes”. And if they cannot pay the fines, then have them do jail time until the art is repaired.

When I was a kid in the 60’s we kept 500-1000 mink on our farm. They are separated in rows of cages. They do not roam in herds like sheep! These people had to open every single cage and remove the mink without getting the living sh*t bit out of them by these miniature wolverines. Then break down the enclosure. Some major facts are missing as usual.

The media is the biggest threat of all to our freedoms. The question is what can be done about their lies and encouraging terrorist criminal behavior. They remain silent about the leftist criminals so they can blame the Republicans and others like Trump and the conservatives for all the unrest and idiot protests. We have a right to ignore their vitriol and hateful reporting with lies, lies and more lies. They take the side of evil.

ALF and ELF (Earth Liberation Front) have been conducting terrorist activities for decade. Throw in BLM and antifa for a foursome of DIMM terrorist groups. Quite frankly, you could add the falsely-named Planned Parenthood founded by KKK-friendly Margaret Sanger!

These people are terroristen and should be arrested and prosecuted to full extent of the law. They are not saving the planet, which by the way, does not need saving, but are destroying it from within.
Killing of thousands of minks is not the answer. Preventing thousands of people from living their daily lives is not the answer.
Through the ages people have survived living among the animals and their excrements right outside their door. They can survive mink farms and oil drilling. May I suggest these people go into research to find alternative solutions than killing innocent animals and destroying businesses and peoples jobs. For nothing has been accomplished, only the so-called teachers that have indoctrinated them have another topic to write a book.
Instead you young indoctrinated people go into research to find a solution to climate change if you think that is upon us. Throwing soup on art is not the solution.
Is getting your name or face in the paper but has anything changed? Following people that have not done anything themselves to change things but written a book about it and have created followers is in my book not solving the problem if there is a problem. Educate yourself don’t listen to the screamers of the world. They are out for the money not out to change the world. Wake up, not woke. Be your own thinker don’t follow someone blindly. Find out their true motive. You will find you have been had.

How do we discipline the media? When even NASA scientists publish comments such as, ‘the only reason we have been unable to connect with extra-terrestials is that they most likely destroyed their civilizations by global warming. We need to be ware.’ What kind of crap is that? About the same as images from our new telescope have discovered 3000 planets with similar characteristics to earth – ‘this is PROOF there are extra-terrestials’. REALLY?? How so? Is any other species required to have the same traits as us? Perhaps they breathe methane. I’m sorry to say that I know many who won’t even read AMAC because they are all about conspiracy theories.

So ALF has freed thousands of minks to become “road kill”, how kind of them. The minks have more intelligence than the ALF radicals. Why is the left intent on destroying things like our country?

There is a fairly easy way to stop these so called activists that are nothing more than domestic terrorists. We have got to go back to the way things were done in the past. That means if a crowd of idiots blocks the road and disrupts the lives of hundreds or thousands, including keeping people from medical appointments or being a pall bearer at their own father’s funeral, we just need to allow the pissed off people to knock the crap out of them. Society has allowed far too much liberal nonsense but they have made it that just about any physical punishment is seen as the worst thing imaginable. Well, when WE were kids our parents gave us a kick the pants and we were better for it. If a person led the police on a long, dangerous chase through crowded neighborhoods they got their asses handed to them and if people blocked the road and tried to make a person miss their father’s funeral, they would have gotten their asses handed to them as well. You see, the young, liberal, idiot’s are rarely afraid of getting their asses handed to them because society has made that response a severe penalty. We’re not talking about maiming someone or doing severe damage but a good “wake up call” would cause these idiots to think twice before even contemplating some of these acts. These “criminals” get a slap on the wrist, many times with little to no repercussions BUT if a person(s) physically teaches them a little bit of a lesson, they are usually charged much more harshly in the legal system. Where is the deterrent for these idiots? Governments have only emboldened these domestic terrorists that have a good life thanks to the very people they are hurting. Why don’t they get jobs and create legal change if they truly believe in their cause? Once again….. they are idiots!

These activists are likely paid. They are making a statement only; it’s obvious they really don’t care about the welfare of the animals they turn loose.

The heads/leaders of these groups should be charged & arrested. If that happened often enough, this destructive mess would stop.

Perhaps these fruit flies need to be reminded of the words of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness” If a person is standing along the curb, he/she/it is a protester, if they are lying in the road, they are a speed-bump and should be dealt with accordingly.
