I applied for Obamacare in 2013 after being laid off from my job and losing my insurance. I did everything they told me to do in providing income verification and with the subsidy my premiums were $287 per month with a $6,000 deductible. Imagine my shock when I was hit with a $3,000 tax bill having to repay the subsidy because we made too much money. I am on Social Security and my husband made $35,000 that year. Without the subsidy it is cost prohibitive at $600 per month. I can’t afford it!! I started shopping around and learned about Liberty Health Share, a faith-based cost sharing program. My premium is $199 per month with a $500 deductible and 100% coverage after that. It is also exempt from Obamacare. I haven’t had to use it yet but in doing my research, it appears to be a good program. Obamacare is a scam! People should go to jail for what this has done to our citizens. I am now concerned about all of my personal in formation on file and the lack of security protocol. No one should have to go through this nightmare.
