Help Us Address Veterans’ Challenges!

veterans

Attention: AMAC Members

The AMAC organization has a long-standing history of priority support for the Veteran community. Roughly 75% of the families on AMAC’s membership rolls have direct Veteran connections, and 31% of our more than two million members have served in the armed forces. AMAC’s support is evidenced by a common theme of honoring those who defended our freedoms and our way of life.

We recently expanded our Veteran support vision with creation of the AMAC Foundation Veteran Outreach Program (FVOP), a platform that will promote synergism between and among organizations sharing our objective of further enhancing the lives of our cherished Veterans and their families.

With the 118th Congress now taking shape in Washington, the collaborating partners in this outreach effort each have pledged to develop a list of topics for advancement to Congress as a roadmap for the appropriate Veterans committees. These topics will also serve as agenda items for briefings with congressional representatives identified as Veterans (both newly elected and previously elected).

This is where you come in! We are requesting input from the entire AMAC community so that we can ensure that what we present to Congress is a thorough representation of the concerns and viewpoints of our extensive Veteran family. To accomplish this, we ask that you respond to a brief survey that will allow us to compile a topic list that truly reflects what’s important to our cherished Veterans and their families.

Completing the survey should take no more than a few minutes, and you can access it by clicking on the button below. Please note that, when ranking the topics, a rank of “5” means most important, a rank of “1” means least important.

Take The Survey!

Our goal is to present this information to Congress in February, so we request that you respond at your earliest convenience to allow time for incorporating your input into a full list.

Watch for more posts on the AMAC Foundation website as we get set to share these thoughts with the 118th Congress!

I worked in the VA for 30 years. It is hard to access your benefits but once you get established it is beneficial for most. The continuity of care is difficult due to waiting times for appointments and unless the Veteran is committed to managing health it is easy to lapse into illness.

The VA Health Care System has come a long way thanks to veteran organizations and supporters of veterans. I use the VA for primary care, minor surgeries and fall back to military or tri-care for emergency care and major surgeries. Now that the VA and military are able to share data easily it’s a win/win for me as a retiree. (it wasn’t always that way). The VA has a clinic just up the street. Access and appointments haven’t been as issue. Rehab is a little slow and could use a little help with processing. And Mark is right, if you don’t commit to the management of your health care, no matter what system you use, you can slip between the cracks and be forgotten. I would like to say, case management could take care of that but I’ve yet to see any benefit with case management.

Even before I retired from the Army after 28 years I joined the VFW and American Legion to get support and give support to my fellow veterans, that’s their lane. I feel they’re doing an adequate job and I agree we should support their efforts. I don’t believe AMAC should be trying to take over or push them out. AMAC Foundation Veteran Outreach Program (FVOP), this platform will promote synergism between and among organizations sharing our objective of further enhancing the lives of our cherished Veterans and their families. Follow the platform, stay in your lane – support -. Your primary mission is me, seniors. By doing your primary mission you are supporting us senior veterans and retirees. Beware of mission creep….

Take Survey.
It is important for our Veterans and
US.
Our Veterans are our Family and Friends.
They Deserve our Support.
It’s the least we can do.
