Help AMAC decide on how our name should appear. Help Amac decide on how our name should appear.

Dan Weber, AMAC’s president, is asking for help from our members on how you would like our name to appear.

AMAC’s Founder, Dan Weber

The two headlines are written in the same typeface and the same size. The only difference is the top version has AMAC in All caps while the second line has Amac with only the first letter in capitals.

If you look at our logo you’ll notice the A is slightly larger than the rest of the letters. Our logo is sort of “in between” the two choices. We need to know how to write our name in press releases and articles that just use our name, not our logo.

Arguments for all capitals:

AMAC stands out boldly. Similar to AARP, WALL*MART, TARGET etc.

Arguments for only capitalizing the A:

Amac looks friendlier. Similar to Tyson Foods, Honeywell, Abbott Laboratories etc.

Look at the second paragraph to see the difference in a sentence.

Please take the poll on the left side of this page and let us know how you feel.

No matter how you spell it- the Association of Mature American Citizens is here to look after your interests. Thanks for your help.

I like the logo with the fonts and the colors as they are. But when it is put into black typeface such as in an article “Amac” will not standout like “AMAC”. I don’t know if this should influence the actual logo or not. But I am glad to see an alternative to AARP!

ALL CAPS, of course!

Steve

ALL CAPS!

Greg

I like all caps but if iI could make a different suggestion, I think that a larger capital “A” with smaller capitals for “MAC” looks very nice.

Kell Brigan

All caps is more better grammar for an acronym.

Bill

I vote 4 all CAPS

Bob Cotton

Use caps for only AMAC

Bob Cotton

Use CAPS only for AMAC

Wendy

I like the all caps with the “mac” in smaller caps, but I am afraid that somebody just skimming through an article would mistake us for AARP.
Maybe the best bet would to make it Amac with the “mac” italicized and all of it bold like others have said to make us stand out from the others.
Or like the one person did A*M*A*C

Thank you for giving us an alternative to AARP and it’s ok to tell us the difference between the both of you, but as others have said it’s putting us in the same gravy boat with them if all we do is slam them. Let’s be the bigger people and just focus on what we stand for and let that speak for itself.

Thank You and God Bless You!!

ALL CAPS. Correctly, when a name an acronym is substituted for a proper name, it should be in all caps. When reading Amac, it looks like this is the proper name, which it is not. All caps get more attention.
In response to the curt remarks by Shawn Curtner (appropriately named): you should send your dislikes about our National Anthem to those who butcher it when they try to sing it – the celebrities and so called singers. It is disgusting the way they change it to please themselves and show such disrespect and disgrace screaming at the top of they lungs calling it “singing” our national anthem. Your remarks here were immature and would be better served towards the groups that REALLY need to be corrected at disgracing the national anthem.

All CAPS.

all caps

Ed

ALL CAPS,please. I love my AMAC.

I would favorite a stronger font presentation. Block lettering looks weak to me. The serfs are good, but the current font needs to be improved. Definitely all caps.

AMAC! Need to be ready to contrast to AARP. Glad you offer an alternative.

All CAPS! Thank God for AMAC! I am absolutely excited about a conservative alternative to aarp! I believe there is an enormous number of American seniors that will embrace this organization and give more power to the “revolution” needed to take our country back to its conservative roots.

Randi Says

I think it should be all caps, and also have the A be in red the M be in blue the A in red, and the C in blue.

Mike

AMAC is an acronym, so it should be all capital letters.

All caps is more effective, and I have to second Shawn Cuetner’s comment about removing our National Anthem from your ads. As a 72 year old veteran, I don’t believe that the National Anthem should be trivialized by playing it as part of an advertising campaign.
