Government Giveaways are Impairing a Much Needed Back-to-Work Movement

work

WASHINGTON, DC, Nov 18 — It’s not unusual for an illness to have side effects, but the side effect of the COVID pandemic has had an unforeseen side effect on the American economy.  In its latest report, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics tells us that a record 4.4 million workers quit their jobs in September.  The Labor Department also reports that, at the same time, 10.4 million available jobs remained unfilled.  It’s beginning to look like the workforce is on strike.

As one worker told the New York Times, she left her job last year to care for her kids.  “So much of how I saw myself was tied up in what I did for a living — it was a huge adjustment to all of a sudden not be doing that all the time.  But once I made that adjustment, it also became apparent that there were also benefits to having that work-life balance.”

The cost of living went down during the pandemic due in part to the stimulus bucks provided by the government, as well as the initiation of programs to ease mortgage payment and student loan paybacks and a freeze on evictions.  The Times also noted that even the wealthier segment of the population saved; they didn’t go out to eat, passed up vacation opportunities, and benefited from a major uptick in stock prices.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration appears to be using the labor shortage to promote the socialist elements of the Democrats’ massive Bring Back Better spending legislation.  During an interview, last week on MSNBC’s Morning Joe talk show Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that a lack of access to affordable childcare is responsible for the shortage.  It prompted the radio show’s co-host Mika Brzezinski to challenge the notion: “I still don’t understand.  I mean, if you’re telling me that Build Back Better will bring people back to work because of much-needed and long-needed issues like childcare and pre-K, that still doesn’t explain why people aren’t coming to work today.”

A Real Clear Politics report of that interview attracted dozens of comments from readers.  One particularly angry reader had this to say: “The Federal Government has no business (nor constitutional authority) to provide nor pay for daycare. If you can’t afford kids, don’t have them. If you don’t have family to help you with kids, don’t have them. There’s plenty of free and reduced costs daycare (like churches) that are available, and parents need to learn to be responsible and self-sufficient.”

In a recent interview with Fox News, Senator Mike Lee [R-UT] pointed out that “Work is more than a source of income; it’s fundamental to our ability to contribute and thrive.  Congress must stop making policy decisions that discourage a return to work—we need workers’ contributions now more than ever.”

A study conducted by the Joint Economic Committee Republicans confirms that it’s government policies that are keeping more and more from going back to work.  The report shows that more and more Americans are receiving government assistance and many more anticipate that the socialist Biden government will up the ante.  It also reveals that government giveaways are impairing a much-needed post-pandemic back-to-work movement.

In conclusion, the analysis found that “Reconnecting inactive workers to the labor force will require careful consideration of poorly-designed federal benefits, wide-ranging regulations that exclude would-be workers from the labor market, and labor laws that restrict employee freedoms to work on their own terms. Policymakers must not forget that work can provide more than a paycheck; it can offer self-respect, a chance to thrive through personal achievements, and an opportunity to deepen community ties that build the foundation for robust social capital and a strong civil society. By revitalizing connections to work, we simultaneously strengthen families, communities, and civil society.”

Those of your sending your children to good schools and encouraging them to do well while taking
math and science so they can attend a top-notch college. What’s wrong with you. Tell them the
govt will take care of them.

Here’s the deal. As soon as we work hard enough to pay for all the world’s population to have what we have, we can go back to doing things for ourselves. But not until then. If you have more than
the poorest, you’re a capitalist pig. SOCIALISM FOREVER !!!

Just shut up and work harder. Get a second job. Try to get weekend overtime.
Our job is to work harder to take care of the loafers. Allow a homeless, jobless person
to move in with you. Get it ?

Looks like the Democraps are trying to politically engineer a 1930’s type depression. And of course they will blame it on any and every on except the Democrap Party. LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR … the future collapse of the economy lays squarely on the shoulders of the Democraps. And it is intended to be that way to make it easier to slide the USA governance closer to pure Communism.

The article cited a female who said quitting her job to stay home to take care of her kids gave her work life balance? What work? The taxpayers work to9 give her a life of balance and unearned stuff? Where’s our life balance.? Too many people work 2-3 jobs to pay for the irresponsible choices others make and their carefree/couldn’t care less lifestyles

Belonging to a church and having a relationship with Christ will do much to strengthen a person. If you identity is through your work you are in serious trouble. Work changes all of the time. Unless you own the company you have zero reassurances that you will feel complete from day to day. saying you have a work life balance can not happen if your work defines you!

Not if the citizens start realizing that is the objective of the Democrap Party (including rigged elections). Stop voting for any and every Demodrap and in short time politically, it will stop the Commie Democraps from advancing their progressive (to Communism) agenda.

I’m sure the Commie Dems have already foreseen this. This is why they’ve approved open borders bringing in new votes for the Dem Party should their ‘Kill America bill’ not go through.
In the mean time someone hopefully is educating many of those coming in that if they agree to vote for them that they’ll be voting for what they’re running from to come here for the freedom and free money the Commies under false pretenses are promising them.

But it helps immensely and creates a longer term result in skewing the elections of the future in the favor of the Democrap Party ComDems! Sadly, to stem the tide of Commusistic inclusions in our Constitutional Democracy, the Democrat Party is going to have to go the way of the dinosaur in American politics.

Why would anyone work when ol’ slo’ joe’s handing out the farm and all of the money in the cookie jar. Ol’ slo’ joe’s not our friend. He’s here to bankrupt our country, destroy our energy independence and jack up our taxes while destroying the very fabric of our nation.

The latest BBB bill wants to allow anyone that wants 4-weeks family leave to take it —-and I guess govt. must plan on paying for this. This is major hit to business and expecially to small businesses with 10-30 employees —–as one person off is a big hole in operation. This should be up to employee/company to decide and govt. should not be mandating more time off for employess.

Remember … inflation is a political way of taxing in disguise. And people in a marketing or sales position must pass that tax along to the consumer to maintain profit and to some degree growth. That’s just sound economics.

Hal

Remember … this is a Joe Hidin’ Biden Democrap Administration, and its driving agenda is do what is best for the welfare of the Democrap Party, particularly its hierarchy, and lie about it to the Media so they will know how to cover it up for them.

“American Marxism” by Mark Levin. And, as Ayn Rand said so prophetically back in the 50’s; “There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: Communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism — by vote.
It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.”
To put it succinctly: Socialism is the bait: Communism is the hook. The really sad and lamentable fact is that far more Americans, for to many decades, have spent their lives pursuing the American dream and not watching for the roaches that scurry to shadows in the light of truth.
IF you have paid attention for the last several years, what is the main issue that’s stood in the way of the budding commies? The thorn these treasonous cowards are so maniacal to destroy?…Our Second Amendment…In lockstep with that goal has been the deliberate dumbing down of our criminal justice system…part of the plan. As a good friend opined: “Predators are hesitant to attack armed prey.” The first thing wannabe dictators do is DISARM THE SHEEP…and loose the predators.
I am praying daily that it isn’t too late to take back our Constitutional Republic….there seems to be a few “cracks”appearing in the lefties dream to rule the world…lets be diligent in going after these traitors by phone, e-mail, snail mail or personal visits.
A question to ponder: how many lists are you on? FBI? ATF? DHS? The local sheriff’s dept.? have you been classified as an enemy of the state yet? Has the FBI visited you at your work place for a ‘friendly chat’? If all the answers are no…why? These agencies are to serve the people…not the other way around…but……I digress.
George Bush Sr. when he was elected president some years ago opined: “We must usher in the New World Order.” I watched that speech. At the time I was a typical American and didn’t really understand that statement until a few years ago. The tide is turning blood red, our blood, what’s happening in our nation is not going to be solved on comment pages or neighborhood chats or on a break next summer. The battle must be taken to the door of congress, state and national….but again, maybe it’s already over…you decide.
If you are in the battle, then by all means use the comment pages to encourage others to “take up arms”….figuratively speaking….We are a REPUBLIC, not a “democracy.”
God bless and move forward…

Well stated. I recall bush sr pleading for the new world order also. I found it disturbing but rationalized that he was talking mainly about policing dictators like saddam. Then he buddied up with the clintons. More recently his son the former president, eerily silent for eight years during obamas reign spoke out against Trump. He must’ve been given tanna leaves. At that monent all doubt left me that there is a uniparty. It exists in order to camouflage the move to communism. Trump shook them to their rotten core, hence the endless attacks from both ‘sides’.

Biden wants jobs to disappear which is one reason small businesses will be taxed so that people have to get on welfare and be dependent on the government and that blankety-blank communist Omararova would see to it if confirmed. We had a congressman on the intelligence committee sleeping with a Chinese so why not a communist in charge of the money. Or for that matter why not a refugee in charge of Homeland Defence and the southern border.

Yep, a peoples under stress are much easier to control and accept the little bits of aid from any form of governance, including Communism which then turns its focus in to maintaining its dominance and control by simply using government resources to beat down its political foes. Our Nation is in danger from a major political Party (I bet you can guess which one!) and MUST be rejected. If not only the worst is in store for the Majority of Americans in the long run,.

Considering how discriminatory are these welfare benefit programs that don’t help those who really need the program, I have had a negative attitude for them. Yes, we need better childcare programs but not federally funded but corporation funded out of their shareholders profit share. If they are talking EQUITY, stop and realize that it takes two ADULT individual to create a family household setting with both sharing equal responsibility not deposits only. Plus they need to stop stealing money by overtaxation from those of us who actually earn a living working.
