I got 14 of 15. President Kennedy sent “advisors” to Viet Nam in 1961 and 1962. So I guess they are not “combat” troops . But they sure were in combat before they left, dead or alive.

Thought I would ace it, but over-thought on three of them. The Vietnam question (thought it was ’62, but that was when the Viet Cong insurgency expanded in South Vietnam and US flew missions and assisted ground personnel to find and defeat the insurgents. I forgot that at the time that was secret! Classic mistake on missing that Eisenhower was still in office for 20 days in Jan, 1960. Gerald Ford – I should have remembered he wasn’t in place till 1973 when replacing Agnew, who had resigned. Thanks for the great questions!

Ques #3 can not be four. You must be 35 years old to be president. This means the earliest time someone born in the 1960’s could be president would 1995. There only four presidents available.
Clinton
GW Bush
Obama
Trump
Trump is 70 years old. Obama is the youngest of the four and he was in his 40’s.
The answer of four is not possible. Perhaps I read the question incorrectly but I don’t think so.
At 61 you’d think I would go slower but nope, I go FASTER! Not as much time left, don’t you know! ?

Oh – ho ! Some fun !
So O.K., the White House had a revolving door in the 60’s. Thanks for helping us put it in perspective. I was delighted to see the response that 1960 was not part of the 60’s. Always knew 1970 was part of the 60’s.
I’m at a modest 11 out of 15, and had a ball !! I’m a President Trump American. I own all my answers, right and wrong. I do not blame the pencil.
Keep the quizzes coming. Remind us of what we missed on our history classes.

Your. Screen size is half iPad can’t see the last 2 answers.
Got seven out of fifteen which wasn’t too bad considering I was living in the “bush” in Alaska with no television, radio only once in a while & definitely no movies.

Merely using the phrase “1960 Quiz” to rather vague as to the actual period covered. Thus would suggest using actual dates so all can have a “fair shot” to properly answer questions. For example the “1960’s” began 1 Jaunuary 1961 (not the popular assumed date of 1960) and ended 31 December 1970 (again not 1969). Why you say, “zero” is not a number (nothing) unless used in conjunction with a “real” number. Further more I was taught to count 1 to 10 not 0 to 9.
This same problem ocurred when many assumed the 21st Century began 1 January 2000. Actual date was 1 January 2001 making 2000 the LAST year of the 20th Century.
technically 1960 is not part of the 60’s decade. So I think the correct answer would be 3 – Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. That would also make the answer to the question about the VPs incorrect. Thanks for the quizzes it helps make an old guy think.
“The 1960s (pronounced “nineteen-sixties”) was a decade that began on 1 January 1960, and ended on 31 December 1969.”
This quiz was about the 1960s and was formed around questions that related to America in all years 196X.
Also, even by your reasoning, Nixon was still a VP in the Sixties because he was VP from January 20, 1953 – January 20, 1961. That’s twenty days in your definition of the “Sixties” that Nixon was our nation’s VP.

Hi Bill,
Could you please provide a screenshot of this? You can take a screenshot on your ipad by pressing the lock and home buttons at the same time.
You are incorrect. Richard Nixon was not a VEEP in the 1960’s. He was Eishenhower’s VEEP. Gerald Ford was Nixon’s VEEP after Spiro Agnew was gone.
Technically, since Richard Nixon was Dwight Eisenhower’s VP until John Kennedy’s inauguration in 1961, Nixon was a VP in the 1960’s.
Richard Nixon was VP from January 20, 1953 – January 20, 1961.

More left, not more liberal. “Left” is NOT the same thing as “liberal”.
How do you consider them to be more left than AARP?

What’s your point?
Like the question about VEEPS. Nixon was Ike’s VEEP, so technically wasn’t a VEEP in the ‘1960’s’.
Hi Don,
From the Wikipedia page on 1960s (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1960s) (First line)
“The 1960s (pronounced “nineteen-sixties”) was a decade that began on 1 January 1960, and ended on 31 December 1969.”
This quiz was about the 1960s and was formed around questions that related to America in all years 196X.
I got 11 of 15 right. Oh well, there used to be a saying that if you remembered the 60’s, you didn’t live through them!
I think Ford became VP after Agnew resigned and before Nixon did.
That is correct David. Nixon was not a VEEP in the 1960’s. He was Ike’s veep. Ford took the place of Agnew.
Repeat, since Nixon was Ike’s VP until Kennedy was inaugurated in 1961, Nixon was a VP in the 1960’s.
You are correct.
Richard Nixon was VP from January 20, 1953 – January 20, 1961.

11/15…that’s a “D,” 73%….not too great, but, I’m still learning. Thanks
Nowadays you would still get a participation medal.
I got 14 out of 15. I forgot Eisenhower did not officially leave office until January 20, 1961.

That was my thought, just as 2000 is technically part of the 20th century (not 21st), but I knew they wouldn’t score it that way.

I got 10 right. Very challenging. Thank you.
