Dan Weber – Quoted in Washington Examiner on Boycotting Theater Movies

theaterThey’re wealthy and they are among the biggest age groups to fill movie theaters, but many seniors have had it with Hollywood’s political hate speech and they are threatening a boycott if the Oscars, as expected, turn into a Trump bashing affair Sunday.

Taking aim at the star-studded event and host Jimmy Kimmel, a group that represents conservative seniors, which dubs itself the alternative to…

I agree that a boycott is a good and powerful response to things I disagree with. However they should be wisely targeted boycotts and I prefer to think long and hard on them. For example, find out who advertises on MSNBC, etc. and boycott those folks and let them know why. That is one consideration and of course it is easy to do the same with any organization that one disagrees with.

We should all be working together on these things. The liberals have been clever as the devil. Churchill’s “a lie gets half way around the world before the truth gets it’s pants on”, comes to mind. They control a majority of our education system and the media. What we DO have is economic clout and we should smash the crap out of them with that hammer.

It’s difficult to think that we thought these people were so good at being creative and entertaining, to also know how preposterous they are. It’s disappointing. I have already begun boycotting last years awards show for their racist complaints. Yes! I don’t need them to have a good life. I haven’t stopped there I am boycotting those business that took Ivanka,s clothes line. I haven’t bought any of her items, but I will not enter those stores to buy anything else. I wish these dem’s would get over their loss and move on.

My wife and I already boycott nearly all R rated movies.
We’ve long since grown tired of foul language ruining what
otherwise was a good movie.
We are now mostly G rated movies and movies with a good
spiritual message. The PG 13 movies nearly always have moments that
should be R rated, so we boycott most of the PG 13 movies.

Count me in, money talks [quietly] the reality of what is going on in this country has not landed on their doorstep, maybe it is time. Thanks AMAC for being the voice of true Americans.

Article is nice and the idea of a boycott is great! But we need to contact the theaters and movies and let them know! In fact our family is already boycotting the movies and we also dumped our cable. Recent comments by a “star” on NCIS removed that show from our ever shrinking list of show we watch. And I plan to let them know! In fact we may even contact some of their advertisers and boycott them!. A interesting side not – 4 of the advertisers on NCIS were promoting drugs and 1 was for home health care! Ads clearly aimed at mature age group! Maybe that says something about watching TV – it shortens your life!

We rarely buy a movie ticket and don’t even have a T.V. where we live most of the year. If we attend a movie, it would be with the grand kids ages 7 to 13. Actors remind me of spoiled adolescents pitching a temper tantrum when they don’t get their way. Need to be sent to there rooms for a time out!

My family just switched from Netflix (Hollywood movies) to PureFlix. It is an amazing service, with movies that leave you feeling good about yourself and America. I can’t tell you how many times my wife and I searched through the Netflix library and could not find one movie or show that matched our values or desire to be uplifted that evening. Now with PureFlix that is no longer a problem. Please spread the word.

We have been boycotting movies for quite some time to send a messages to the Un-American clowns who call their profession acting. No it is simply Un-American subversion. They are fascist, communist who want to destroy America. Soon to be published will be a list of all the advertisers on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC & NPB so Patriots can stop buying the products of these companies. When they all see a major dip in their sales and stock prices, they will come around to the “silent majority” and our American values. I stopped buying Levi jeans after their CEO renounced gun owners and said for them to stay out of his stores. Wore Levi’s from 1970-2015. All American Clothing Co. in Ohio makes a better jean than Levi and they are priced competitive. Try them out!!!

I too stopped watching award shows years ago. They used to have class. Now they’re as sordid as their movies. I remember when you went to the theaters to be entertained, not embarrassed. These overpaid delinquents have no concept of real life. They make more for one film than most people make in a lifetime, actually working. Thank goodness you can still get DVDs of the classics.

I haven’t watched the Oscars in something like 46 years. Have been to the movies just once in the last decade. Sick of liberal Hollywood.

The last movies I saw at the theater were Atlas Shrugged and a documentary by Dinesh D’Souza. Haven’t seen a Hollywood release in years.

I stopped going to movie theaters after the first mass shooting. Most films were unappealing political statements or enhanced video games anyway. I long for the day when critical thinking, an understanding of literature and the arts empowered movie makers, when there was character development, an actual story and a meaningful outcome. I do predict however, the end of the anti-hero and the return to moral values and happy endings in films as the Trump presidency continues.

I will not be watching the Oscars as I cannot stand to watch “whiny, disrespectful, pea-brained idiots” all dressed up in their finest to see who will be going home with the Oscars. They spend thousands of dollars to get “dolled up” for the occasion so people can stare, admire or gawk at them on their Big Day, but who cares about all that superficial facade when we know that they are just shallow people under all that glitter. Not worth watching and certainly not worth going to the theaters to see their movies…that’s where we can hurt them the most, in their pocket books! They feel they “own the right” to show their disrespect for our new president with their dirty lies and stupid comments just because it isn’t Hillary who is in the Oval Office and they can’t accept that, but guess what? We seniors and all sensible Americans and “Trump’s Deplorables” can certainly have the same right to show our disrespect by boycotting the Oscars this evening and not watching it on tv…and any movies they are starring in currently, and in the future. When the ratings go down, let’s see how they’ll react, for without the general public’s support, they have nothing. So fellow Americans let’s all do our part, shall we?

Could the pre-Oscars publicity regarding potential political speeches by actors be a way of generating more viewers? I, for one, Will not be watching nor going to any movies in the theater. I am a palled at the arrogance and the very undemocratic statements made by those who are in the 1% of the 1% benefiting from all this country can give and yet displaying such intolerant and selfish views.

Haven’t been to a theater in about 18 years and don’t plan to go again in this lifetime. I have zero respect for most “celebrities” that are filled with their own self-importance. They are totally unimportant and irrelevant. Their thoughts and words mean nothing to me. Therefore, I will not watch the Academy Awards show since I couldn’t even give the title of a movie that was made in the last 5 years.

The movies are nothing like they used to be & these spoiled brat Hollywood liberals aren’t worth wasting my time on. Boycotting the movies! No problem!

I find it curious that people who speak words, written for them by others, as a career feel we should take their opinions seriously. I agree with the title of a book written years ago- “Shut Up and Sing!”

I HAVE BEEN BOYCOTTING THE MOVIES SINCE THE EARLY ’70s. I CAN PICK OUT THE WINNERS OF THE OSCARS JUST BY HOW LIBERAL THEY ARE. IF IT’S A NAZI FILM, IT WILL WIN AT LEAST ONE OSCAR. IF THE ACTORS ARE THE MOST LIBERAL, THE AWARD GOES TO …….. TRY TO PICK THE WINNERS BY THIS METHOD AND SEE HOW MANY ARE CORRECT. WHAT A SHAM!
