According to the Census Bureau, there are 18.5 million military veterans in the United States as of 2016. These heroes risked their lives to guard our freedom and keep our country safe. Each Veterans Day, these important Americans are honored with parades, speeches, and remembrance ceremonies honoring soldiers of the past and present.
The national movement to support our living veterans has been gaining increasing traction, particularly in the business world. Companies are recognizing the hard work ethic, smarts, and dedication of those who serve, and specifically seek out the talents of these natural leaders. These military-friendly companies aim to give back to those who put their lives on the line for us.
Some notable military-friendly companies include:

They believe in supporting veterans and help them focus on physical health and recovery, education, and employment. As part of the White House’s “Joining Forces” initiative, Deloitte has pledged to double veteran hiring numbers and continues to offer transition skills to veterans.

This is just a sampling of the many companies across the United States that support American veterans. Thanking soldiers for their service is wonderful, but we can always do more to help. Patronizing businesses which actively support our former and current military members is one small way we can honor and support these American heroes all year round.
