CNN Trips All Over Itself To Prove Texas Is Going Blue — Leaves Out Pretty Key Detail

CNN buildingCNN made a bold prediction without much evidence on Wednesday: The Republican Party can no longer count on the Lone Star state to vote red in off-year elections.

At first look, it appears that a CNN article had confirmed one of the greatest Democratic prophecies of the last decade — that GOP Sen. Ted Cruz was at risk of losing his seat and a new era of Democratic dominance of our national politics had begun. The headline on the article reads: “Senate Key Race alert: Texas is no longer Solid Republican.”

They didn’t provide a single poll to justify their assertion.

Instead, CNN looked through fundraising documents from Cruz and his Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke.

“The Democratic underdog from El Paso outraised the first-term Republican senator and former presidential candidate by $1.5 million — $2.3 million to $800,000 — from the beginning of 2018 through mid-February. That impressive fundraising haul comes after O’Rourke also outpaced Cruz in the closing quarter of 2017, $2.4 million to $1.8 million,” wrote CNN’s Terence Burlij and Eric Bradner.

And that’s it. That’s the totality of their technical evidence aside from a superficial analysis of historical trends and President Donald Trump’s approval rating.

Nevermind that the Republican Party has significantly more cash (some of which will presumably get transferred to Cruz if he needs it), but even Democratic pollsters put Cruz at an eight point advantage over O’Rourke. That same poll found that 38 percent of Texans viewed Cruz favorably, but only 20 percent feel the same way about O’Rourke.

Polling aggregator RealClearPolitics still puts the race as “likely GOP.”

If you predict the president’s lousy approval rating means Republican voters are going to endorse a young progressive who was once arrested on drunk driving and burglary charges (or, as CNN put it, someone who is “embracing his punk rock roots”), think again.

“Texas dislikes Trump, but that doesn’t mean it will go blue in 2018,” Henry Enten wrote Feb. 2  for FiveThirtyEight. The state’s electorate — for the time being — is structurally incredibly unfavorable for Democrats.

Another survey by Cruz found him an 18-point advantage over O’Rourke.

Dems have been paying dems to move to Texas in a vain attempt to turn it blue. Not working yet, but if they get enough out of stater’s moved in they might actually outvote the locals. Open your eyes Texans, you are being invaded.

That money MAY be significant. I can be used to buy FRAUDULENT VOTES and steal the election They do that all the time in Chicago.

The “Big Cities” in every state are solid Blue because of the degrading lifestyle of changing demographics. Middle/low income white workers lost jobs and were driven out by the entrenched never changing black criminal element, and Latinos (primarily and many illegal) that work cheap, and were allowed to place their extensive families on our vast welfare system. That of course is the backbone of Socialist Democrat politics.

The biggest problem for Cruz is Mitch McConnell, he will try to do what ever it takes to keep Cruz from winning, he hates Cruz more than he does a liberal, just like he did in AL. he will pour as money as he can into defeating him.

But sadly it is turning Blue at all the city and county levels because of low voter turn out for local elections. Just look at the major cities (Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Ft Worth, Houston and San Antonio). All of the valley has been blue forever.

The only polls that I believe CNN quotes are those conducted in New York, Illinois, and Hollywood.

It’s all well and good to talk about the hypocrites at CNN and all the other “news” stations, but conservatives can’t become complacent and not bother to vote in EVERY election. We have to keep the socialists/communists/fascists/progressives… from gaining power again. We have to increase our representation in congress and keep the presidency. The only way to do this is for EVERY conservative to get off their duff and vote. Every election, not just when they think it is important. Every election is important if we are going to keep our nation free. VOTE EVERY ELECTION.

AMEN! But first folks have to REGISTER TO VOTE! I have been to the polls and seen folks who assumed they could vote without registering for same.

I’m constantly amazed that Chicken Noodle News (CNN) and the other alphabetic litany of “spewers” STILL, after 15 months, can NOT come to grasp with why HRC lost!

We’ve all heard, “Insanity is performing the same task over and over again expecting a different result each time.”
….and they (the left) just keep on, and on, and on!

When it comes to Trump, CNN simply makes up the opposite to accuse him of as do the Dems such as when they call him Fascist or Hitler-like when those attributes accurately describe the Dems with their Intolerance and Suppression of Free Speech along with their support for the violent and fascist Anti-Fi organization of ‘Black-shirt Fascists’ like Mussolini’s and Hitler’s ‘Brown-shirt Nazi’ thugs as well as the Dems former creation and use of the KKK to intimidate & hang Blacks and Republicans in their support for continuing and extending the practice of slavery in the USA.

Texans are proud of their country and very patriotic as is Donald Trump that all want the MAGA agenda to succeed. Donald Trump may be very blunt and seem a bit rude at times, but Trump has high-integrity, cannot be bought and the persistence to accomplish the goals for which the citizens of the USA elected him to do. The following explains this quite well!

I certainly agree with this Outstanding Article by Karin McQuillan: Note to NeverTrumps: Trump’s Character Is Admirable

Everyone should follow this link above and read her cogent and factual assessment of President Trump’s Character and Accomplishments in only the 1st year! Here is just a brief sample in the quote below:

“I think Trump’s character is excellent.

Trump’s integrity in office is outstanding – the first politician in my memory who is sticking to his promises to voters. We are hugely benefiting from his promise-keeping.
His primary promise was to focus on jobs. Wow, has he delivered. Jobless claims have dropped to the lowest level in 44 years – last seen in 1973, under Nixon. Record-breaking low unemployment in 13 states. Investment reinvigorating the Rust Belt. More high-paying jobs in mining, oil, and industry – another promise kept, as President Trump has unleashed the energy sector and boosted capital investment.

Lazy, leftist, passive President Obama lectured us to accept the new normal of a stagnant economy, which was what his policies delivered. GDP growth was 1.6 percent in 2016. … “

The only way the left could turn Texas blue would be through massive election fraud and that is very unlikely.
True, the big cities are liberal as are their media outlets, but the rest of Texas is not.
I was banned from an Austin TV station’s web comment site for my posts and a Houston station that had been using Disqus dropped it because of conservatives posting rebuttals to their editorial opinions.

I really don’t put ANY confidence in polls. They all know what to ask what people and get the answer they desire.

Bob L., the big cities are much closer to the agencies that dole out the hand outs, so, low info dependant voters abound.

So massive election fraud does not already happen within Texas (and other states)? Better wake up and smell the stench, amigo.

CNN (Corrupt News Network) is working very hard to LIE to Americans and deceive everyone. Unfortunately, this country is full of ignorant, uneducated, not interested people. If all people would change the channels once in a while and just listen to other views, it won’t be long for the intelligent ones to see the true picture. The liberal networks are probably reporting 92-97% negative lies about president Trump. Yes, he tweets too much, he speaks his mind, but at least we hear from him and his opinion. The past politicians didn’t tell us much and stole American values, took away our rights as Americans, and look to illegals and more important then us who made this country. They are now in the process of taking away our religious beliefs even though some are not in office anymore. The legal and judicial system is corrupt, filled with lies, and have made this country look like it has no values. What is most important is MONEY, not the people. The FBI (Federal Bureau of Incompetents), the DOJ (Department of In-justice) is more corrupt than the Mafia, and the judges are more prejudice and political then politicians themselves. The US is on a spiral spin to total destruction through politicians that only care about themselves and their financial gain. Put prayer back in schools and government, put God back into public view, and lets think of other Americans instead of our selves. The bible says search for the truth and the truth will set you free. God Bless America and all Americans in it.

Listening to other views is not the problem. Listening to ANY views is the problem. Most folks could CARE LESS about politics but fawn over air headed celebrities and sports figures. ‘The USA has become a place where entertainers and professional athletes are mistaken for people of importance’ – Robert A. Didn’t America hear that in 2016 ?? With the unbeatable candidate . Stop listening and being bewildered by the free press . I do believe they are seeping into the big cities with the hip and cool crowds just look at the map of America back in the 80’s to today both coasts are blue and the middle is all red like cancer it spread from New York all the way down to Florida and the west coast well that’s a lost cause .

Once you declare an area a ‘lost cause’ you might as well throw in the towel for the rest of the nation.

We also need to remember that our nation is NOT a democracy. True democracy (one vote for one person) has never been nor ever will be extant on this planet! Not in Athens (where only landed MEN voted) and not here in America, where we have a REPUBLIC (see Benj. Franklin’s reply). This means that we elect representatives to place votes for us. That’s what a Republic is, and that’s what we’ve got, thank God! All this talk about a Democratic Society sounds good, but only muddies the water in the long run.

We all look to Texas to hold the light of freedom that was once America. If Texas falls to the Socialists (Democrats) the defeat of America will be complete. I fear that not enough people has awaken to save our once great country. The Democrats war on success continues. Those of you who do not donate to those candidates that are strong and willing to fight the good fight against the socialist Dems. will wish you had once the socialist win and take all you have so they can “redistribute” it to those who have not earned it. And remember, there is no such thing as a conservative Democrat. The party bosses will not allow it.

Sad to say this, but Texas has a real bent on Secession. We have had enough and we are tired enough of funding the loser States, that we may go as a Nation. WE would be the 10th largest economy in the world and could pay our own Social Security and Medicare benefits if the Federal government should not pay their obligations. For more #TEXIT or tnm.org

California’s economy is larger than is Texas’s, but they do not have enough to fund their current spending. I think they rank 7th largest in the world. Should California withdraw from the union, she would fall rapidly, but she has already succomed to reconquista, conquered by Mexico’s invasion.
LaRaza and their compadres are active in this reconquest attempt for Texas as well as along with those southwestern states from Texas to California.

You are correct…there is no difference between communism and socialism, one ENSLAVES you by force, the other ENSLAVES you by vote, but the end result is always the same….the people at the top live a life of luxury while the servants (us) live in poverty….just take a look at Venezuela.
