In an age of disinformation, China pushes the envelope – which is to say; they boldly go where no credible, developed nation would go. Communist China boldly speaks untruths as a matter of foreign policy. They have, they will, and they are today about coronavirus.
Unbounded by democratic institutions, a Bill of Rights, or accountability to The People, Communist China applies lessons of warrior Sun Tzu: “In the midst of chaos, there is opportunity” and “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” Disinformation is a tool in the process – and Communist China uses it consistently.
The world’s leading medical experts cannot say when this “novel” coronavirus will die or go seasonal. What they can say – without doubt – is that the virus originated in China. The world’s medical detectives tell us this coronavirus has unambiguous origins.
Specifically, “SARS-CoV-2, previously known as the 2019-nCoV, is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA coronavirus first reported in late 2019 and linked in the 2019-2020 pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan City in central China and the COVID-19 outbreak across the globe.”
Nor is there any question of how and where it began. “The virus was genetically sequenced after a nucleic acid testing on a sample from a patient affected with pneumonia …” The first “infected individuals were stallholders who worked at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan City, capital of Hubei Province in China,” which sold live and butchered animals.
As described by Dr. D.S. Hui in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, “Chinese health authorities first described the disease as something similar to other coronavirus infections such as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS caused by SARS-CoV and the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome or MERS caused by MERS-CoV,” viruses sourced to animals.
Oddly, some coronaviruses “have been known to evolve and spillover or jump to infect humans, such as in the case of SARS, MERS, and four other coronaviruses that cause mild respiratory symptoms in human population.” In this case, “Chinese authorities ruled out SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, as well as influenza, avian influenza, and other common respiratory viruses.”
Chinese medical experts concluded that this coronavirus originated in the Wuhan market, where 1000 stalls permitted transmission. The “Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market” sold “butchered and live chickens, cats, pheasants, bats, marmots, venomous snakes, spotted deer, as well as the organs of rabbits and other wild animals.”
Despite knowing these facts, Communist China was slow to act – and unconscionably slow to warn the world that a new “jumping” coronavirus was being transmitted. Nor did they initially work to contain it. Instead, they sought to suppress the information.
While some conjecture this coronavirus escaped the “Wuhan Institute of Virology,” spreading to the market after “accidentally leaking either as a bioweapon or an experimental pathogen, neither vocal Chinese doctors nor past instances of coronavirus transmission substantiate the theory.
In any event, what is clearly known – beyond doubt – is that this virus originated in Wuhan’s marketplace. Nevertheless, China has begun spinning another story. The Communist government – hemorrhaging what is left of their shredded credibility – now blames America. Specifically, the People’s Daily – an organ of the Communist Party – has twisted vague statements by the CDC into a conspiracy.
On the idea that our CDC acknowledged flu diagnoses might be Wuhan coronavirus, China argues the virus began in America and was “planted” in China. They then congratulate President Xi for slowing the virus’ spread, incredible, ironic, and morally disgusting.
Beyond illogical, the Chinese disinformation campaign is simply embarrassing. China was caught red-handed – responsible for infecting the world by denying and mispresenting the existence and nature of this new virus, then suppressing doctors who tried to get the word out. Now, they blame others for their own unconscionable, communist behavior.
If there was ever proof that Communist China is unworthy of trust, that President Trump was right to call them on the coronavirus, as well as on entrenched trade violations, cheating at the World Trade Organization, endemic currency manipulation, lying about building and militarizing artificial islands in the South China Sea, this is it.
If there was ever proof that Trump was right to be unbending and borderline belligerent with Communist China, this is it. If there was ever validation for claims of dissembling, dishonest, and strategically dangerous behavior by China, this is it.
From imprisoning and killing dissidents to forced re-education of religious minorities, from shutting down Christian churches to widespread human rights abuses, from promoting mass abortion of girls to infecting supply chains with clandestine information gathering, from intimidating regional economies and promoting Chinese hegemony through “contracts of adhesion” tied to 5-G, this is a country that respects no rules but its own. That is now clear. Nor does it care about its own people.
When all is done, the COVID-19 infection, originating like other coronaviruses inside China, will taper and die, or become seasonable, treatable and preventable. What will not taper and die, after this disingenuous disinformation campaign, is distrust of Communist China.
One sobering footnote. For those who want socialism in America, take a good, hard look: This is what socialism looks like. Marx, Mao, Lenin, and Stalin made socialism the waystation en route to communism. If what you want is centralized power, wrapped in dishonesty, incalculable rights abuses, atheism, suppression of liberty, no respect for life, truth, or freedom, have at it.
In an age of disinformation, China pushes the envelope and teaches us – about communism. In short, watch the Big Lie. Sun Tzu also wrote, “The greatest victory is that which requires no battle.”
America has to actually be slapped in the face before we wake up to anything. Until we get strong leaders across the board like Trump, it will continue. We’ve had Presidents like Carter, Clinton, Obama and in my opinion even Bush #1 and #2 that were weak and didn’t have what it took to run a country, much less look out for the needs and interest of the American people. Thank God for President Trump…can you imagine where we would be/look like if Hillary would have won?
So tell me why we buy so much stuff, including medicine, from China.
Again it the money!! That has greed all over it~~~
Along with it’s virus, China is spreading horse pucky!
They caused this problem. They are now providing false information and denying access to those who need to fix it.
Their deceit in this battle shows they are enemies to the rest of the world.
China is not our friend and never has been since 1945! The company’s that went over to China were just in it for the money & THAT was
how China got there start. I do think that finally, people are coming around to that point. That was both Demarats & Republicans!
The presidents were not all to blame for it but sure did not try to stop it. So it goes on & on & on. God bless America and just hope we
can get it up and running again!
Thank you for correcting erroneous info.
Thank you for clarifying so much disinformation
China is merely doing exactly what ALL communist countries do in times of crisis, when they are the source of the problem. They spread disinformation and then tout how wonderful the communist leadership and economic model is for “the everyman” to the rest of the world. The fools and socialist / communist sympathizers in foreign countries around the world lap it up. Example: Our entire MSM has completely bought into the false narrative that China has been putting out this week that the United States unleashed the Wuhan virus on China and is feverishly reprinting and rebroadcasting the lie every chance they get. Anyway, this behavior is nothing new from China or any other communist or socialist country out there. It’s SOP.
My question for the author is what possessed any of you in the Bush administration (or any of the other past administrations over the last 30 years) to think the CCP of China would EVER abandon communism, which is what enabled the CCP to not only gain power and control over the people of China, but also grant the members of the CCP both wealth and power they would have never likely achieved otherwise?
I’ve wondered for some time WHY the US would be so naive as to think business/trade with a communist country would benefit the US and not come back to haunt us? Greed of businesses for profits (through lobbyists) via cheap labor was no doubt the impetus. AND that trade with the USA gained China finances and ‘status’ with other nations who are now also allowing them inroads. SO, they cheat all they do business with and these viruses now travel over the world via those inroads.
I say cut all ties with communist countries with regard to trade and push them out of ownership of properties within our borders (i.e., ports of entry). Our weakness may be the US dollars they hold via trade or loans.
