The latest and greatest Biden boondoggle makes his twisted priorities clear: he cares more about foreigners and prisoners than he does our nation’s elderly and disabled citizens.
As the country bumps up against the debt ceiling and House Republicans attempt to rein in out-of-control spending, Biden is wandering further down the path to socialism. Maybe he saw an ice cream cone off in the distance. Or perhaps he’s blindly following his left-wing bureaucrats toward economic ruin.
Either way, the latest salvo in Democrats’ War on Work in America is an announcement of a forthcoming regulation that would expand Medicaid to millions of people who are not eligible for the program.
While welfare expansion is no new thing for the left, these latest expansion proposals go beyond the realm of sanity to expand welfare to two new classes of recipients – non-citizens and prisoners.
The White House said this month that the Department of Health and Human Services “will shortly propose a rule amending the definition of ‘lawful presence,’ for purposes of Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage, to include DACA recipients.” This means nearly a million non-citizens, who have never been Medicaid eligible, could start enjoying taxpayer-funded care free of charge.
Of course, this giveaway to illegal immigrants isn’t particularly surprising given that Biden’s head of Health and Human Services is the former Attorney General of California, Xavier Becerra.
The left coast state serves as a petri dish for so many destructive ideas, especially when it comes to welfare. California already gives Medicaid to non-citizens. It has not gone well so far – California is struggling with an estimated $30 billion budget deficit this year.
As if expanding welfare to those coming across our borders isn’t enough, the Biden administration has also proposed expanding welfare into jails and prisons. The proposed expansion would be “for certain individuals who are soon-to-be former inmates of a public institution.” These “certain individuals” are also known as “prisoners.”
This is not the first time that Medicaid has been expanded well beyond its original intent to cover a population that shouldn’t get the welfare benefit. Millions of able-bodied adults were added to the program under then Vice President Joe Biden when Obamacare was passed.
As a result, the nation now has 100 million people on a program that was originally meant for the truly needy, disabled, and elderly. Most of these able-bodied adults don’t work at all, a problem that is dragging down our nation’s work ethic and causing a workforce shortage crisis across America. The labor force participation rate is the lowest it has been since the late 1970’s and there are nearly 10 million open jobs that continue to go unfilled.
This welfare giveaway to non-citizens and prisoners would be one more millstone around the necks of state budgets as well. Medicaid is partially funded by state tax dollars, and the program is already tanking state budgets across the country. Medicaid accounts for one out of every three dollars spent in state budgets and it is crowding out other priorities like roads, public safety, and education.
These extreme proposals aren’t surprising given the source, but they are shocking in their brazenness, doubling down on outrageous actions from Biden such as allowing Medicaid funds in Oregon to be used to buy things like air conditioners to “combat the climate crisis.”
Biden has also proposed a rule that limits states’ ability to verify whether someone is actually eligible for the program before they give out the benefit. This is a huge problem in a program where one out of every five dollars is already spent improperly.
There will be major negative ramifications of these latest lefty welfare expansions.
The bottom line is that the program was meant to take care of our vulnerable elderly and disabled citizens, not able-bodied adults, criminals, and non-citizens. Medicaid is the primary funding source for more than 60 percent of all nursing home residents, and many disabled citizens around the country are on waitlists for services.
Biden claims he cares about actual priorities within Medicaid, like funding nursing homes, but his diversion of Medicaid tax dollars to left-wing priorities tells a different story. His latest proposal puts criminals and non-citizens ahead of American seniors and the disabled.
That’s just wrong. We should be putting American citizens and our truly needy first.

By what right does this “President” authorize such crap? Where is representation? Was he really elected Emperor? I am such frustrated at reading story after story where people that supposed to be leaders lack the acumen I have as a common, retired working man!
This morning, I received email from Senator Rubio’s office replying to my concerns about the ERA Amendment. I did write the Senator about the ERA Amendment. I wrote the Senator suggesting restoring the Glass-Stegall Act, which required banks to make a choice between being commercial or investment banks would be a good start to avoiding a future banking crisis. Investment banks and clients would not be insured by the FDIC and risk would rightfully belong to people who gamble.
What he does is no surprise after all that he has done wrong so far since being elected his poll numbers go down and then he has the nerve to say he wants to go for another term in office who wants him he needs to go we need better leadership in the White House and that means someone new in office. The Dems that back him should go also they need to go they are just like him. We do not need more lies from our government time to get better people in Washington that care about us the border is not secure millions are coming into this country from all over the world and the current people in Washington do nothing that includes are great president and VP

Anyone who has knowledge of what’s going on in our country is at the explosion point. I for or have had enough of the communist bastards running this country into the ground. we will see a lot more violence in the near future. I know that God is in control and we should live by his will but these yahoos make it awful difficult.
If the Republicans do not get control of both houses come next election, and vote in a Republican as president, our America is going to be lost, probably beyond repair. I can only hope that the voters have awakened to what terrible damage Biden and his administration, along with his sycophants have already done to our once great America.

My venture into guessing game would be the Obama’s. After all, Barrack has been unable to keep his nose out of presidency since he was termed out.
He interfered with Pres Trump’s term and has been blathering through Biden’s. He has bragged if he had been allowed, he would have won a third term. Michelle is no better.
Biden should be impeached and then Kamala for lack of doing their jobs. Blithering Biden and Kackling Kamala. What a team!
Completely sad. It is bad enough that illegals are coming in masses across our borders with out any signs of stoping and yet we are now going to completely bankrupt this country by adding millions of people to the roles that have never paid taxes to support these programs. Yes. DACA people who are working pay taxes, yet they are not citizens. How about we give them the pathway to citizenship then they can be on Medicaid if qualified to do so. How about we actually fund the skilled nursing facilities / long term and assisted living care facilities that Medicaid patients need and cut down those waitlists. If Joe Biden had to do a financial spend down, and give up his cushy life in order to qualify for assisted living, I guarantee that the entire system would be reformed. As it is every time congress puts their hands in Medicare / ACA they make it worse! If the system could be cleaned up properly and still provide mandated care that would be one thing, but this is not what happens.
It is sad this policy is being implemented. In the past, the Republicans have “caved in” to pressure to increase the National Debt Ceiling. I expect them to “cave in” again. I would be pleased if both political parties negotiated a much lower increase in the National Debt Ceiling. The cost of living is going up fast. Inflation needs to be lessened.
The dessicated, brain dead creature that is the cardboard cut out for the office of the Presidency is rapidly destroying our country. I fled my hometown of San Antonio because of the crime, the trash and the overrun highway system due to the massive influx of invading migrants from all over the globe. NOTHING is being done to stop this onslaught and folks, you have to see it to believe what is going on.
The entire country is swirling down the drain. Not just from the migrant crisis but from every action the Executive Office performs. The enemy is here and entrenched at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC!

Freebies of lodging, phones, health care (including Medicare and Medicaid to all) for illegals and prisoners in jails or prisons is criminal and irresponsible. Welfare benefits to anyone who is physically able to work need to stopped now. We need to listen to people now living in America after escaping from socialist and communist countries and vote accordingly before American suffer the same fate. Don’t vote FOR the party, or AGAINST a candidate because you dislike him/her, vote FOR America! Keep her free!!
These leftist have always been about looking at people as utility. We are just useful to them and when you become non-useful, ie. disabled or elderly, you are no longer valued! Therefore, this does no surprise me as the disabled and elderly will be the first to be eliminated to keep costs down. And since most of these leftist believe in the climate change apocalypse, elimination of the disabled and elderly will make sense. It’s all for the good of the country! No God, no sanctified humanity!
Dear Carol: I have worked in countries in health care that would be most men’s nightmares especially the looney left. You seem to be right on to the marx theory of using us as pawns. And at 82+ years of age and the diagnosis of Parkinson’s all I want to do is help the children of this world. But I know what you are saying and my last position was flying into the AK remote villages only 7 years ago. I told my husband if we were 20 years younger and I did not have this diagnosis and he did not have his heart problems I would return to AK. And climate change is just a joke. I called the environmentalists in “Berserkley” commie, pinko tree huggers when I attended there in the 60’s. I guess I have had a good career but I did not expect it to end this way. My husband who was born in Berlin in 1938 lived under communist rule until he was 18 years of age. I need to finish the book I am trying to write about his travails while there and his coming to America and our life together 50 year wedding anniversary next year. He says all the time “the golden years are not golden”. It is all because of the left who continue to vote the idiots in to office at all levels of government.
