The Honorable Mo Brooks
5th District of Alabama
2185 Rayburn HOB
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Brooks,

I am writing today on behalf of the 2.3 million members of AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, to offer our unwavering support for your bill, H.R. 864, the “No Social Security for Illegal Aliens Act of 2021.” Pleased to see this legislation introduced, AMAC believes it seeks to responsibly address critical concerns regarding Social Security benefits.

While the future of Social Security is marked for fiscal uncertainty, it is imperative for Congress to take action to preserve benefits for rightful recipients and to protect the program against potential abuse. Under current law, illegal immigrants that work in Social Security-covered employment and pay Social Security benefits enables wider abuse of Social Security, compromises U.S. immigration laws, and further complicates efforts to achieve fiscal solvency.

H.R. 864 justly amends Sections 210 and 211 of the Social Security Act, which define “employment” and “self-employment” for Social Security purposes. According to the language of this bill, unauthorized work performed by illegal aliens in the U.S. would not constitute coverage by Social Security, prohibiting them from receiving benefits later in life. This legislation helps to close the gap between Social Security and U.S. immigration rules, ensuring that those who violate immigration laws are not rewarded for their actions. Addressing this crucial inconsistency strengthens the laws of our country and safeguards Social Security benefits for hard-working citizens.

Like many Americans, AMAC remains very concerned about the future of Social Security and the need for entitlement reform. As an organization focused on the concerns of mature Americans, we understand the importance of acting promptly to prevent abuse of these benefits. Additionally, AMAC firmly believes the Federal government has a responsibility to seniors and future generations to adopt commonsense proposals to make committed strides toward solvency.

Thanks to your leadership and concern for this important issue. AMAC is proud to support H.R. 864. A legislative step that will restore accountability within Social Security.

Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President

Good article. With the current Democrat controlled Congress however, they do not want to lose votes of illegals so the Social Security funds will continued to be drained by the Swamp Monsters. I and my wife are getting as much of our benefits as we can that we paid into before it goes BUST!

Excellent article & a subject that doesn’t get enough attention…Like Max below in the comments, I began drawing from my social security acct at 62 years of age, I’m now 67 & very much enjoy retirement along with all my hobbies. My thinking at the time was & still is truth be told, get it while you can, tomorrow it may be gone! Will the average person live long enough to draw back out what they have already put into SS, I doubt it?
I agree entitlement reform is necessary & part of that is the Federal Government’s hands shouldn’t be allowed to touch this money, i.e. HANDS OFF by law…

I appreciate AMAC keeping us informed of what’s going on in Washington and their intentions. Adding millions to the Social Security benefits fund without them actually paying into it would be a disaster.

Just before the election I had a discussion with a couple of young black ladies concerning “Medicare For All”. They said that they were voting for Biden because he was going to give everyone Medicare for free. I explained that I had paid into Social Security and Medicare for over 50 years before I was able to collect the benefits and there’s not enough money in the funds to support everyone. I was called “ignorant” .

Social security should not be classified as an entitlement. We the recipients of the benefit have paid into the fund. It should never have become fluid account for the government to steal from. At the current state of social security individuals should have invested in something that would give them far greater return.

We contributed to social security with every paycheck we earned. We did not have the option not to contribute. This is not free or an entit the government owes me. Illegals should not benefit from this program.

WHAT HAVE THEY EVER PAID IN TO SOCIAL SECURITY? Been paying into it since I was 15. Now retired and get pennies per month. I am suppose to live on $450 a month and jackass Biden wants to give away money to those who have paid NOTHING!

If the government spent our money the way they say they were going to, we would be living in a utopia. Roads would be smooth, bridges would be safe. We would not have slums all over our big cities. For this administration to hand out our money like (they) worked for it is criminal. I worked all my life. paying into this Ponzi scheme called Social Security. If this money would have been invested in my name not the governments pockets I would be more than wealthy. Wake up smell the coffee. Our government is corrupt and it’s our fault. Only believe those you trust.
