Dear Secretary Adams,
On behalf of the 2.34 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 30,200 who reside in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, I write to offer our support for your legislation to reform elections, House Bill 574.
AMAC members have voiced their concern regarding the allegations of fraud in last November’s election and have placed election integrity at the top of our legislative priorities. House Bill 574, the most significant election reform legislation in Kentucky in nearly 30 years, certainly addresses our members’ concerns.
The legislation includes provisions that transition toward universal paper ballots across the state; keep the online voter portal, so absentee balloting is fully transparent to both voters and election officials; enhance the ability of state election officials to remove nonresident voters from the voter rolls; and expressly prohibits ballot harvesting. All of these stipulations are important reform mechanisms that serve to safeguard our cherished right to vote.
Thank you, Secretary Adams, for your leadership in ensuring the integrity of Kentucky’s elections. Your legislation should serve as a template for states across the country and AMAC is pleased to offer our association’s full support for House Bill 574.
