AMAC Poll – ‘Overwhelming’ Support for Impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

BOHEMIA, NY, Feb 16 — An overwhelming 96% of AMAC members and visitors polled at its Web site said that liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg earned impeachment with her disparaging remarks about the U.S. Constitution on Egypt national television, according to Dan Weber, president and founder of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

“It was bad enough when President Obama went to Egypt to ‘apologize’ for America.  Now Justice Ginsburg has the temerity to tell the Egyptian people that the U.S. Constitution is “rather old” and shouldn’t be used as a model for other countries,” Weber said in announcing the early results of a poll the conservative organization sponsored this month.

The poll asked whether she should be impeached “and so far it is 6,569 to 300 voting in favor of impeachment—a whopping 96%.  This, in less than a week.  Her views on the Constitution did not sit well with voters.

“Here’s a country that is in the throes of deciding whether it should side with terrorism against the U.S. or with democracy… a country that is holding American citizens hostage while accepting American aid in the billions of dollars.  Meanwhile, our President and his ideological surrogates are offering a lot of self-deprecating advice,” Weber remarked.  “No wonder the public here at home is fed up and angry.”

He suggests people take a look at the comments being posted on the Web.  “One post, in particular, caught my eye.  The author had this to say: ‘This woman is definitely in the wrong job. As a Supreme Court Justice how can she serve American citizens and uphold its laws if she does NOT support the US Constitution that she swore to uphold’.”

You can get regular updates on the polling results regarding this issue by visiting the AMAC Web site at and clicking the “View Poll Archives” link in the voting box in the lower left hand corner of the home page.

The Association of Mature American Citizens [] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those traditional organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

have to say, that was the most honest words i’ve heard him say. and one of the few times i’d have to agree with him. if it was to come about it suohld be through legislation not through the courts.

Well, our (U.S.A.) welfare ssetym was created to help the poorest of the poor. It was done so with the optimistic idea of helping those in most need. Unfortunately, the ssetym has been over-taxed and abused. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen with universal healthcare, as well.

The logic is when you get sick, you will be covered, so you won’t go bkparunt or have to use tax dollars to pay for your medical emergencies. More people that have insurance means lower premiums. It has to be a health insurance company because Republicans kicked and screamed about the other option.

If the policy tericds the proceeds be paid to an individual beneficiary, then that beneficiary gets the money and can do whatever they want with it. However, you could instead name your estate the beneficiary of the policy, and then you could direct in your will what is to be done with the proceeds.

Let’s think about this for a moment. The justice was simply stating what should be obvious – that the U.S. Constitution is the product of hundreds of years of Western political evolution with which an Eastern/African/Muslim culture would have no comprehension. Stuffing our constitution down the throats of the Egyptians would be like trying to swim fins on an earthworm.

Although this is an OUTRAGEOUS statement for a US Supreme Court Judge to make, the STATEMENT does not rise to the level of action to warrant impeachment. However, if the US justices are to judge actions based upon the US Constitution, on WHAT BASIS IS SHE JUDGING????? Is there no censure for NOT using the constitution as THE benchmark????

Name one law or regulation, one ethical challenge here which she has broken which would rise to the level of impeachment. This would require a Senate conviction for egregious behavior as defined in Articles 1 & 2 of the Constitution and then an impeachment by the House. One might not like her expression of free speech in comments directed to a foreign nation, but this fails to meet the Constitutional standards everyone seems to be bellyaching about on this web site. Please be more consistent.

Uh, Mikel, it’s the principle of her blatant hypocrisy – swearing that she will uphold the United States Constitution when, in fact, she publicly disparages a very precious document and safeguard to this GREAT nation.

Oops! I just remembered that I, as an American peasant, need to shut my mouth and endure constant diminishing and destruction of the “GREATNESS” of both our U.S.Constitution and our society as a whole by an elite worm such as ginsburg.

Historically, has any supreme court judge ever been impeached? When I was a boy, I remember all the bumper stickers that said “impeach Earl Warren” who held the same views of our constitution as Obama and this liberal judge – that it is a document that should be altered to suit contemporary moods. If in the more conservative 50’s, we could not impeach Earl Warren, how do we think an ever leftward moving nation would impeach Gisburg?

The actress is Rosemary Martin.I would diagsree that DDL played Kafka as crazy’. It certainly is a mannered and as you say, stylized performance. But I believe Kafka’s essential warmth comes through he’s the only one of the bureaucrats who shows real humanity and empathy for others. He’s an eccentric for sure, but I never thought he was unhinged, and I don’t believe that was what DDL was going for, either. It may not be exactly what Bennet had in mind, but I think it gets the point across.

I would not be in favor of the impeachment action at this time. I would first like to see a new president in the Oval Office. I would hate to have this guy for another four years and him pick a replacement for her and others. Wait til 2012 and hope for change…

we should remind our fellow citizens that we a nation under God and that our supreme Court Justices need to uphold our constitution, not rewrite it.

Although Ginsberg could not be impeached for merely telling another nation not to use the US constitution as a sample for their own, her history on the court is nasty, belligerent to the citizenry and downright foul for a person on the highest court to actually despise the institution she represents. She too is a warped marxist lover who has been spending too much time viewing cases giving her a negative outlook of this nation, yet believes other nations provide a good judicial treatment to its citizens. It is quite apparent to those of us who actually view the global agenda that other nations are terrible in providing justice, compared to the US that must deal with massive diversity, gender, racial, religious variations. Most nations on the planet are monolithic……ie china, India, most african nations, south american nations……in that they are nationalistic in their ethnic and language requirements…….in other words if you live in China, Chinese is the ethnic, cultural, political entitiy of importance of consideration for all services, distributions and all other ethnic or races are considered aliens, visitor or not elegible for national positions, schooling, job considerations until the “Chinese” citizen is first accomodated. This absolutely applies in the arab nations as well. Consider Saudi Arabia…….all non muslims are outsiders, infidels and not allowed to wander its streets and towns. So for Ginsberg to actually think a place like South Africa as providing a better example of law is psychotic at best. S. Africa, like Zimbabwe executed the white land owners, without international protest in the name of “freedom”. Now that S. Africa is a global “basket case”, can barely feed itself, cannot manufacture or mine its resources, it applies to the UN for handouts. This is the icon that an idiot like Ginsberg relates to as constitutional example. People like Ginsberg are in this type of position way too long and into severe old age, where their common sense is completely overwhelmed by their living in a bubble of theoretic, what if, in a perfect world babble that ignores contemporary circumstances and compares history, reality and circumstances of different political, geographical nations. Of course we cannot have Ginsberg leave at this time, because Obama will just appoint another vile marxist such as Sotomayer or Kagan to replace here, thuse punishing the American people with a possible 40 year commie hack. Once Obama is out of office a new president could choose a better, pro American judge.

I dont think people are thinking this impeachment movement the right way- So we impeach her and give Obama the chance to get another YOUNG liberal on the court. Ruth is old and will be retiring soon. We want our next Republican President to have the chance to replace her. NOt Obama with another liberal that will be on the bench for years.
WE all know what this woman is like so her comment wa not shocking to me at all. This is how they think in their ACLU liberal minds.

Of course she should be impeached. But so should most of the Senate and many in the House…Actually, all three branches are not keeping their oath. The only job of the Supreme Court at the beginning was to ascertain the validity of any laws and how they did/did not comply with the Law of the Land, The Constitution.

This is a “no-brainer” but who will do it? Obviously no one even our military is AWOL on this one.

I’m thoroughly disgusted with this group of traitors that are running our country. Even a small country such as Hondurus had a military that escorted the president to the border when attempting to transgress the constitution of that country.

Well if we can ignore the Constitution because “it’s rather old” perhaps we should do the same with Justice Ginsberg. She has violated her oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and deserves to be impeached.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
