Your AMAC Action Advocacy team has been hard at work despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus and is pleased to present this mid-year review of our activities. As you will see, we were not slowed a bit by the pandemic and executed strategies that led to legislative victories for veterans, seniors, patients, and American businesses.
Our relationships with members of Congress and committee leaders continue to grow and we serve as a trusted advisors on issues like surprise medical billing for key offices. The White House has consistently called upon AMAC for our members’ personal perspectives on issues including law enforcement and the cost of prescription drugs.
AMAC members were very involved in the advocacy process as evidenced by their participation in several calls to action that generated tens of thousands of messages to federal and state lawmakers and leaders on issues regarding healthcare price transparency, COVID-19 nursing home deaths and the suspension of the required minimum distribution for IRA account holders.
Our momentum continues to build, and we look forward to a busy remainder of this year complete with more advocacy successes to share with you!
