AMAC Across the Country: Town Hall with Rep. Adrian Smith

AMAC kicked off what promises to be a busy month of town hall meetings last Thursday, August 6, in Grand Island, Nebraska.  Forty AMAC members from Nebraska’s 3rd congressional district gathered to hear from Representative Adrian Smith (R-NE), who provided an overview of the 114th Congress’ accomplishments and current legislative priorities. For Rep. Smith, a member of the powerful House Ways & Means Committee, simplifying the tax code and responsibly tackling welfare and entitlement reform are paramount. The Congressman acknowledged that reforming the tax code and working to strengthen America’s welfare and entitlement programs are “heavy lifts” and “won’t happen overnight.” However, thanks to the leadership of Ways & Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI), Rep. Smith believes the House is making meaningful strides in these areas. AMAC members also had the opportunity to engage with Rep. Smith on a variety of topics. Questions focused on both domestic and foreign policy issues, including congressional efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, repeal and replace ObamaCare, restore accountability to the VA, and block President Obama’s controversial Iran deal.

People (even Steve Forbes and Donald Trump) are seriously confused about the difference between the Flat Tax and the Fair Tax. The Flat Tax, just like the IRS, is based on REPORTED INCOME, whereas the FAIR TAX is based upon CONSUMPTION where EVERYBODY pays according to what they BUY. It generates more money; abolished corporate. payroll, and numerous other taxes; and as a result. is FAIR. (See FairTax.Org)

I’m voting for Dr. Ben Carson. He is the real deal. He truly represents the American people.

Many politicians say they want tax reform. Once they are in they will not disassociate with the E. F. Huttons.
Let us see what Trump can do.

why is the Ways & Means comm. trying to fix the TAX problem with bandaids. Rand Paul and Smith want to fix the tax problem with tax reform, just like every other Rino in washington. this is not a difficult fix.. (FAIRTAX.ORG). is the only answer. why isn’t AMAC for Fairtax?
