Transcript:

It’s a special edition of Your AMAC Weekly News as we are celebrating Christmas this week and we here at AMAC first off wanted to tell you Merry Christmas, but also let you know what an amazing year we’ve had because of our incredible members.

Let me first start by stating the most amazing number. This year, we at AMAC have welcomed more than six hundred and seventy eight thousand new members, all because of you telling your friends and family about the important work that AMAC is doing.

AMAC has met with more than two hundred and four congressional offices in Washington, DC alone. We’ve also met with Senate and the Health Education, Labor and Pension Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, the House Ways and Means Committee, and its Health and Social Security Subcommittees all on your behalf. We’ve also had important legislation before the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Budget Committee. One other thing that AMAC has been doing so much this year is working on health care reform, specifically with top advisers to the President of the United States of America. Many of these meetings have been taking place right inside the White House. We have also joined as a member of the Free2Care coalition that is a coalition of physicians and patient advocates to create a package of reforms that return health care to a physician-driven, patient-centric experience.

Not only that, AMAC has also had a massive number of congressional meetings along with the work done by AMAC Advocates on the grassroots level that has resulted in securing additional co-sponsors to a very important piece of legislation — H.R. 856. It is an AMAC-sponsored bill that increases access to medical care for poor families and individuals while also driving down state and federal Medicaid expenditures. Right now there are more than 24 members of Congress who have signed on to support H.R. 856.

Now when it comes to legislation, AMAC has been very active and successful this year on bills that strengthen Social Security, protect vulnerable children from identity theft, eliminate double taxation on federally earned benefits, and allows seniors to continue to contribute to their health care savings account even after enrolling in Medicare. Not only that, we have also called for investigating the business practices of middlemen and the prescription drug supply chain and hospital supply chains and fought to protect patients just like you from surprise medical bills after treatment.

Now let’s talk about the grassroots level for just a moment. Well AMAC Action has had its most successful year to date. Nearly 50 AMAC Action Chapters held more than 136 meetings and reported an attendance of over 1,800 AMAC members and friends throughout the US. Attendees heard major candidates speak and were educated on issues pertinent to AMAC members and our constitutional rights. Approximately 55 meetings with local congressional offices, all the way from Alaska to Florida, were led by AMAC Action Delegates. Now these meetings were attended by AMAC members and friends and they were done to connect the membership with their local members of Congress while providing them an opportunity to let their voice be heard on important issues. Now AMAC Action Regional Representatives also met with 43 congressional offices in their region.

All of this in addition to our national fight against Medicare for All, socialism, abortion, anti-gun reform, illegal immigration, voter fraud.

Now I tell you all this to say one thing — thank you. Thank you for being a part of AMAC and to let you know that we are having an amazing success on your behalf on these issues. We at AMAC want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. We know the fight on these issues and also impeachment are far from over, but it’s also important to pause at the end of the year and look at all the good that has happened because of you.

So again thank you, thank you, thank you, from all of us here at AMAC, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Can you tell me more about the “healthcare savings account” you mention in this article. I tried a Search on it on the Amac site, but received no hits.

I am glad that I am part of AMAC, but would like more info on the bills being pushed in all these meetings. You mention SS but no details: I would like to go to no limit on amount of wages that pay into SS & also increase this .5-1% now & leave these dollars in SS account. Also, increase Percent paid into medicare by +1-2% now to keep both programs solvent. What is AMAC pushing for ?? Thanks for listening as I feel that SS is most important for the majority of retired people. End the t Trump tax cuts now as these are most beneficial to people that already have money & therefore can play the stock market, Also, right now neither party is even mentioning the Obamacare changes??? Why not??
