Wondering about Medicare costs in 2025? We’ve got you covered!

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has just announced the 2025 cost-sharing amounts for Original Medicare, calculated under the Social Security Act. Most enrollees will see a slight increase in cost-sharing amounts for Part A and Part B services, so here’s what to expect in the coming year:

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)

  • Premium-Free for Most: Around 99% of Medicare recipients qualify for premium-free Part A.
  • Paid Part A Premiums: If you do need to purchase Part A, your monthly premium will be $285 or $518, depending on your specific situation.
  • Inpatient Hospital Costs for 2025:

Deductible per benefit period: $1,676

Daily coinsurance (days 61-90): $419

Daily coinsurance for lifetime reserve days: $838

Skilled Nursing Facility coinsurance (days 21-100): $209.50

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)

  • Monthly Premium: The standard premium will be $185—about $10 more than in 2024.
  • Annual Deductible: Set to increase to $257.
  • Immunosuppressive Drugs Coverage: For kidney transplant recipients, the monthly premium will be $110.40.

Note: Higher-income enrollees may see adjusted premiums.
