Democrats: Cocky For The Wrong

Maine’s shameless Democrat Governor, Janet Mills – and her uncontrollable party  – act like they own Maine, are a “force unto themselves,” entitled, unstoppable, unaccountable to anyone. They inflict increasing pain on average Mainers, taking us into a new kind of darkness, personal insecurity, fear among kids and seniors, intolerably high property, sales, and income taxes, health care crisis, infrastructure collapse, and educational outcomes in freefall. They are cocky for The Wrong.

Democrats in “blue states” – led by shockingly cobalt Maine, once a peaceful, safe, hardworking, low-tax, highly affordable, and educated, personally conservative state – have concluded this is the time to seize power irreversibly, turn Maine into California, and make it a model for dystopia.

What do I mean? Flying their anti-Trump flags high, Democrats push lawlessness and protests, attempt to disenfranchise half the voters, undermine law enforcement with overregulation and underfunding, soft-pedal felonies, block mandatory minimum sentences for major drug traffickers, attempt to legalize voting by illegal aliens, end bail, and perpetuate drug addiction with weak, ineffective, non-responsive programs that keep addictions alive, rather than ending this horror.

They have ignored, punished and mocked whistleblowers – pointing out clear, egregious Democrat corruption – in many Maine agencies, from DFAS (Department of Administrative and Financial Services) and DHHS (Health and Human Services) to the politically-obsessed Attorney General’s Office, from the Center for Disease Control and corrupt, unprotecting Child and Family Services to the Comptroller’s Office, Corrections and Democrat non-profit formation to push MaineCare for illegals (while registering voters) to Economic and Community Development, Governor’s Office of Energy (up by 1000 percent), to the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection), replacing merit hires with DEI and Democrat favoritism in agencies from Forestry to Education. Dead wrong.

Even now, with the writing on the wall – the highest property taxes in America, effectively kicking older Mainers out of homes owned for generations and assuring young Mainers never buy a home, they keep pushing the falsehood that things are better., They are not.

Maine has schools ranked by one survey 50 of 50, another 41 of 50 –  yet once first in the country. Seventy percent of our 4th graders cannot read or read at the level they should, while nearly that percentage of 8th graders cannot do basic, simple math. How do they prosper in life without reading or math?

Another credible, national survey just listed Maine worst in the nation – dead last – for infrastructure – bridges, roads, energy production, transmission lines, transformers all past their lifetimes, in desperate need of repair, yet left largely unattended by a Governor and her top staff – including two Democrat candidates for governor – who raised the budget and taxes by more than 60 percent in six years, but somehow did nothing to end Maine’s infrastructure death spiral. Cocky for The Wrong.

Then take this pending voter ID measure, a clear effort by concerned Mainers to get integrity back into the voting process, battered by proven allegations of double voter cards, illegals with driver’s licenses and permits, and a Democrat push to import tens of thousands of illegal aliens, increasingly involved in drug crime, violent and property crimes, and fatal traffic accidents.

The Democrat reigning governor, her indifferent attorney general, appointed Democrat judges– including majority activists on Maine’s Supreme Court – just let the cabal’s secretary of state dirty up the 2026 referendum, which aimed to assure Maine gets an ID law, making it now unclear.

That referendum is intended to make the Maine voting process more honest, less prone to fraud, yet the very process of trying to correct potential fraud has been fraudulently interfered with by the shameless Mills Mafia, including the two Democrat contenders to follow her, Bellows and Pingree.

If all this were not snake pit enough, a sure sign that Maine is in dangerous waters, corruption everywhere, more shark infested than waters off Harpswell, Popham, Old Orchard, or Scarborough, the kicker is Mills gloats, cocky for The Wrong.

But here is a spoiler alert: what these cocky, left-lurching Democrats never get, people feel the pain they inflict. People connect the dots. They see who caused it – and when cocky hits the ground, it makes a sound; when arrogance is called on the carpet, bad leaders are swept out, everything changes. In Maine, that day is coming.

RBC, as usual, you have pointed out the downfall of the Democratic leaders of your state, particularly the Gov. Mills and her Hench people. If the citizens of Maine haven’t figured out this disastrous Demo combos yet, the state is in a lot of continued troubles.
Keep up with campaigning and will continue to support you for your run for Governor. Have a good weekend.

Mr. Charles, for all the articles you have written on how bad the governing party has been in Maine and how they have practically destroyed your state I pray that other Mainers (pray the majority) also see and realize what is going on there and vote these people out. I pray that your message is getting out to Mainers and they will make a change. I believe Mills is considering running for the congressional senator seat in 2026. She would be a disaster not only for her state but for our country.
It’s hard for me to believe that 4th grade kids can’t read at their proficiency. I remember my fourth grade teacher always reading a story to us kids and she had a bookcase full of books for both boys and girls and I indulged myself in reading most of the ones boys would be interested in.

They’re stealing. The unfettered access to the “bottomless” trough of tax dollars by politicians, as pushed by Marxists under the guise of Modern Monetary Theory, is a civilization killer. Look at how much personal wealth Pelosi, Bernie, AOC, &c have accumulated while in office. Not to mention the ‘lesser’ pols like Letitia James in NYS.

The curse of unlimited taxation was pointed to by numerous XXth Century Austrian economists. Read Hayeck, von Mises, Raico, Rothbard and the others for how and why this happened and was allowed. Leonard Read’s many books and articles discuss this krakatocracy, ruling by knaves for the naive illiterates.

The mixed martial artist who loudly questioned why has America denied Mises, is correct.

Why do people keep voting for radical liberals in Maine? Are there simply not enough conservatives in the state to ever end the liberal rule? It is strange to imagine and we rarely hear from the citizens of this state so maybe most of them are radical liberals themselves.

Thank you for your insightful article. You point out a problem with too many who have reached areas of power and/or authority. It brings back bad memories of people I had to deal with who take situations and find a way to challenge it, but somehow try to do it within the law (or at least make it sound that it is within the law). But they challenge authority further without knowing the full story, probably making it look like they are the ‘good’ guy and make it look like they are standing up for the ‘little guy.’ They imply, from their ‘logic (?)’ that you are wrong or don’t care. Amazing how words can be used to ‘vindicate’ the wrong people. Sadly, it would be great to reconcile, and Right the record, but, too often, it is obvious the accuser will not admit wrong or even accept reconciliation. Thank you for running for Governor, and I hope that God grants you enough support in your legislature to start fixing the wrongs, and especially the wrong ideologies that you all have to overcome.
