Frustrating… They Don’t Listen

just listen

Frustrating, When They Don’t Listen. Animals do not know what we do not tell them, and often do not listen when we tell them. Thus, I do not bother telling my dogs to eat neatly, or stop leaving hair everywhere, would do no good. When I tell them not to bark at a coyote, they just wag, no use. Life can be like that.

In October 2022, a Gallup poll showed half our nation ranked the economy “the most important problem.” Nevertheless, in 2022, the federal government overspent revenues by 28.7 percent, leaving a 1.45 trillion-dollar (one year) deficit, shoveled into a $30 trillion national debt.

In 2023, the government then spent 1.7 trillion dollars more than collected, a larger deficit, larger national debt, and inflation doubled in January 2021, after being up five-fold through July 2022. Interest rates were at 5.3 percent, a 22-year high. Inflation and interest hit all Americans hard, a year after that poll.

Despite agony at the pump, grocery store, paying rent, interest on cards, car loans, mortgages, and higher prices for everything from prescriptions to oil, politicians did nothing. Worse, they continued to spend money Americans do not have on things they do not want, no bark, no wag, no excuse, no care.

For more than two decades, a supermajority of Americans – more than 80 percent in recent years – has been concerned about illegal immigration. Gallup polls again show consistent concern.

Other polls show stronger sentiment, with one national poll documenting 63 percent disturbed by immigration policies, a 13 percent jump in the past three years. By January 2024, even liberal CBS revealed that 93 percent of Americans call illegal immigration at the border a crisis (45 percent), very serious (30 percent), or somewhat serious (17 percent).

Over the past three years, the government has been worse than non-responsive. They brazenly opened the border, releasing millions of illegals into our country who, before January 2021, were not here.

Replacing a fortified, policed border with an operationally open border, more than seven million illegal aliens have been released into the US interior, often secretly shipped to states in the dark of night – by our own federal government leaders, no one stepping up to stop the dishonor, disrespect for laws.

The scope, methods, and numbers – not to mention the level of drug trafficking, sex trafficking, terror list apprehensions (hundreds), and so-called “gotaways” is utterly unprecedented, nothing ever seen.

If this were not enough, the government is attacking states that protect themselves, recently Texas, in contravention of American legal precedent and history, helping unvetted drug, sex, and child traffickers, convicted felons, and other illegals enter the country, and then “placing” them in every single state.

Not surprisingly, drug, sex, and child trafficking is destroying young lives at an unheard-of-rate, with more than 300,000 young Americans dead during this Administration from fentanyl, thousands trafficked for sex, a horror the Administration has blithely compounded, effectively complicit, as if it did not matter.

Worse still, the Administration downplays overdose deaths, lets trafficking felons out, has done little to stop China and Mexico from shipping fentanyl – enough to kill every American multiple times – and then cynically derides the movie, Sound of Freedom, vividly explaining the horrors of child trafficking – while the Administration is unable to account for 85,000 illegal children.

The hypocrisy, deafness to public concern, and sense of indifference to serious issues, each profoundly important to individual Americans and their families, is breathtaking, earth-shaking, and heartbreaking.

Of my animals, I expect little. I expect them to sit, come, go, bark, eat, make a mess. Animals do that, do not listen, and do not comprehend. Thus, I do not bother telling them my views.

But American politicians, elected and appointed leaders, those who take and spend our money, ask for our trust, are sworn to protect our country – of them, I expect more, much more.

I do not expect abuse of power, rash overspending, personal greed, sense of entitlement, arrogance, open borders, complicity with drug traffickers and those selling children into sex slavery, ruining their lives, unrepentant infliction of damage to our nation’s social fabric, public safety, and respect for laws.

Bluntly, I expect more of every politician than I do my dogs, yet there are days when things being equal, my dogs listen better, and add more to life than those I voted for. Life can be like that. Frustrating, when they don’t listen.

Well Robert, it’s not that many politicians don’t listen. They actually do. However, most politicians in the professional political class know there is no real downside or cost to their actions, if they choose to ignore the voters that elected them to office. When incumbents that consistently do little to address the issues that their voters value, they have little fear of losing their cushy positions.

On the Democrat side, most voters still just robotically walk into the election booth, look for the column that says Democrat, and just do a straight-line vote from top to bottom. It’s what they have been conditioned to do for decades by the MSM and the Democrat politicians that claim they are the only choice. Your dog puts more thought into looking around when you take him out, than most Democrat voters sadly do when it comes to voting. Most Democrat voters operate off of years and years of mental conditioning to mindlessly accept whatever a Democrat or MSM personality says is completely true and accurate, no matter how absurd anything they may say happens to be.

Case in point, look at New York City, Chicago, LA, SF and other Utopian-style Democrat strongholds. The Democrats not only don’t improve anything, but they actually pass new laws and policies that make things progressively worse (pun intended). The same model is applicable to Democrat run states, that lurch from crisis to crisis yet the politicians in charge always claim it is someone else’s fault. Even though the ones they blame hold no political power in those states to change anything. Yet the vast majority of Democrat voters just keep right on electing or re-electing the same model of lying, incompetent, socialist or Marxist politicians who promise new freebies in the near future. You just can’t fix stupid!

We have to a much lesser extent a similar problem on the Republican side when it comes to the RINOs that just keep getting re-elected over and over again. Even though they side with Democrats and their disastrous policies more than stand for the sane economic and social solutions that the vast majority of Republican voters want implemented to clean things up. Thus, both sides contribute to the growing deficit, but to much different degrees. When you try to compromise between Socialists / Marxists and Capitalists / Constitutional Conservatives, which is what most of Republican voters really are when you peel back the onion, the end result is usually more money being spent in areas the federal government should either NOT be involved in at all or on programs that were enacted under a false premise to simply promote a desired political objective.

Is either side perfect? H-ll no! However, but at least the majority of our voting base still understands basic concepts like open borders are bad for national security and our economic future. Our side also understands that sending billions upon billions of dollars, that we have to borrow from foreign countries that hate us by the way, all in order to send that money to people in countries that want to wipe us off the map are all incredibly stupid ideas.

So what’s wrong with us, Americans that is? These people, our representatives are our servants, not some sort of royalty. They should all be fired if they decide not to do as we want or instruct them to do. Yet we the people continue to sit back, scratch our head’s and act as if we haven’t a clue on what to do, or even what’s going on.

The American people are a sad bunch, we’re going to regret sitting on our hands and doing little of nothing while our Republic was torn apart.

So much for caring about the children.
So much for caring about women.
So much for the War on Drugs, secure borders, 2 genders, smart energy policy, transitory inflation, rule of law, quality public education, home affordability, and individual responsibility for paying back loans.
Success for Democrats depends on endless repetition of their talking points and the media repeating those talking points. When voters think with their brains, they might realize they’ve been had…and some are waking up to this reality and switching sides. But if people don’t think and automatically respond to a simple “command”, that’s another win for the dems. Plus, they vote in packs…groupthink wins again.
I sometimes tune in to NPR to see how they’re spinning the facts and heard this the other day. When talking about the election and the most important issues “according to the polls”, the host said something like, “We know preserving our democracy is number one, with border issues also worrying the voters.” “Preserving our democracy” is code for “don’t vote for Trump; look what he did on J6”. All they need to do is to repeat over and over Preserve our Democracy (it’s a republic, by the way…), and the… idiots… will respond accordingly. Dog treats offered, Pavlov kicks in, tails wag. Simple. Happy little puppies.

Once again, an excellent article, Robert! Your humor gets my attention every time, and encourages me to continue reading. First off, I’m going to speak up for the animals – compared to politicians they are the true champions of our world. They may not listen or pay attention, but more importantly they are compassionate, empathetic and always want to please us. Politicians on the other hand, could care less about being compassionate or empathetic as shown through their lack of interest concerning how many criminals and drugs come across the border every day, the high cost of groceries, rent, gas, etc., because it doesn’t affect them. They have all the money they need to live big and for most, the border is a long way from home. The most important thing to politicians is how much media time they can get showcasing their grandeur or how tough they are. Neither side of the aisle is interested in working together for the American people. The less they get along and cooperate, the more golf they get in. Current politicians NEVER listen to the American people whether it’s imperative or just needed. Animals, specifically dogs, always listen when it’s important and will never abandon you. Animals rule!

Excellent article. Now the Special Counsel doesn’t Charge Dictator Beijing biden for MISHANDLING Highly Classified Documents. Just like they didn’t Charge H. Clinton for her Acts of Treason DESTROYING Government Property and transmitting Highly Classified Information on her cellphone and DESTROYING her cellphones with Hammers and Bleaching information to HIDE her CRIMES or obama for Funding TERRORIST just as Dictator Beijing biden has been doing for 4 years straight including his ILLEGAL ALIEN TERRORIST INVASION.
Yet they charge President Trump for what Dictator Beijing Biden is GUILTY of.
Not only Double Standard but the Fascist liberals only charge Americans for FAKE crimes while the Fascist liberals continue to commit CRIMES and the FAKE news (cnn, msnbc, abc, cbs, nbc, and rest of liberal socialist media) protects them.
Remember, they only attack and charge Patriotic Americans and not Fascist liberals. Imagine what would happen for another 4 years if the Fascist democrats stay in office. YOU could be next which is their intention and the DOUBLE STANDARD will continue.
Are YOU the AMERICAN LEGAL CITIZENS going to put up with this?
One other thing, Food products getting SMALLER and MORE EXPENSIVE thanks to Dictator Beijing biden.
This is another reason I am Voting for President Trump.

I believe that politicians listen – they don’t HEAR!!! AND they only hear what their Party leaders tell them – political talking points that they all reiterate over and over and over precisely!!! I do get frustrated that I don’t get listened to but I more want to be heard!! I want them to understand my frustrations and they never do!!! And if they think that I am a Republican, I am treated rather shabbily!!! That’s not what I expect from someone who works for me (supposedly)!!!

If a large majority percentage of Americans are concerned about illegal immigration, drugs coming from across the border and killing our youth, increased crime by illegal immigrates as well as crime perpetrated by our own citizens, and increased inflation with higher prices on just about everything, and increasing distrust by what were once strong allies, then why in the Sam Hill do they keep voting for and electing the bastards, naming Democrats, who are the cause of most of this travesty??

It’s not that they don’t listen. All you have to do is listen to one of their BS speeches, which simply pander to most of what their constituents want to hear.
The reality is they don’t care. They have a completely different agenda which is more focused on total control and never releasing power. T
