We lived in Rutland, VT from 1979 to 1983 and attended the Rutland Fair every year. Our most loved events were the tractor pulls and the demolition derby. I often wonder if the fair is still taking place.

How could the answer to #3 be the Ferris Wheel when it wasn’t invented until 50 years later?

We raised our tribe attending State fair in KS at Hutchison. The children competed via 4-H and qualified to compete with their horses. Such confidence builder, so much to see and community pride!! Oh I loved the lazy hazy days of the big fair.

Oh dear…. The “Ferris Wheel” question…. Mr. George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. was not even born until 1859!!!!! His invention, the “Ferris Wheel” was officially introduced in 1893 at the World’s Columbian Expedition Chicago!!! You just wanted to keep us on our toes, right??!!!????

The first ferris wheel was built in 1893, so you may want to correct that in your next issue.
