Biden’s Department of Education: Segregation Is Sort of OK

Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona

Last week, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued guidance telling school districts that segregating students by race is perfectly acceptable, so long as it isn’t strictly enforced.

To its limited credit, OCR conceded that if a school were to host an assembly for students of color and punish white students for attending, that would violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. But if, say, a school hosted a “Black Students’ Assembly with Black Speakers About Black Issues,” and somewhere on the school district website it stipulated that all students were free to attend any assembly, then that would be perfectly acceptable.

OCR illustrated what it would accept and what it might investigate in a series of hypothetical examples. If, for example, a history teacher were to teach a unit denying that the Holocaust happened and asked students to write papers about the various problems that the Jews caused for Germany, that might be grounds for a civil rights investigation. That’s all well and good. Fortunately, no instances remotely approximating this hypothetical have been reported in recent years.

Unless, of course, you replace “Germany” with “America” and “Jews” with “whites.”

There have been plenty of documented instances of teacher trainings and curricular exercises denigrating “whiteness” or “white supremacy culture” (which includes things like “objectivity” and “worship of the written word”). It would seem too obvious to necessitate mentioning that if a school were to instruct staff or students about the evils of “blackness,” that this would be adequate grounds for a civil rights investigation on the basis of a hostile racial environment.

Despite the widespread reports of thinly (if at all) veiled anti-white racism in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainings and the so-called “anti-racist” curriculum, OCR does not take this question on directly. It does say that if white parents were to object to the curriculum about “racial justice,” that OCR would likely decline to investigate. And if “racial justice” meant encouraging students to treat people the same regardless of race, then, of course, OCR should not investigate. But too frequently, the critical race theory-infused content peddled under the banner of “racial justice” would consider this form of “colorblindness” to be problematic and racist and directly encourages students to consider race to be an essential moral category.

The absence of hypotheticals approximating the instances that gave rise to the need for this guidance was striking. OCR gives the hypothetical that if a white student group were to host a white nationalist speaker who used racial slurs to suggest that black students did not belong on campus, that this could be grounds for a civil rights investigation. Again, that’s all well and good. But nothing like this has been reported in recent years.

In contrast, there have been numerous reports of asking students to do “privilege walks,” where they must step forward or backward based on prompts including race. These walks, and other exercises like the privilege wheel, communicate the lesson that race is a category imbued with serious moral significance according to the doctrine of intersectionality.

Is this OK? OCR’s silence speaks volumes.

According to OCR, if a school district were to host a “White Students’ Assembly with White Speakers about White Issues,” it would be totally kosher so long as black students could attend if they really wanted to. Of course, they likely wouldn’t want to — because the social dynamic set up by such an assembly is inherently exclusionary and obviously creates a racially hostile environment.

It seems unlikely that any school will test OCR’s commitment to this. Nor does it seem likely that any school will put up signs over some water fountains saying, “For Whites” and signs over others saying, “For Blacks.” But according to the Biden Department of Education, if they wanted to, they could. Just as long as they don’t actually enforce it as a school rule. Never mind that doing such a thing will obviously inherently inflame racial tensions. Because, apparently, segregation is just fine as long as it’s optional.

It sure looks like some guilt-ridden, ultra-liberal, Marxist academics must have spent a whole lot of time and energy in trying to dream up a semi-plausible way to try and justify the reintroduction of openly racist and segregationist policies back into the public school system. Leave it to the Democrat Party, the political party that not only fostered racism and segregation throughout their existence, to try to come up with a way to try and racism as a positive attribute that should be promoted. As long as you just toss out the whole “It’s optionable” tagline at the end of course.

If we had a normally intelligent public, I would say this sort of public policy would be DOA and any public official even bringing it up would be fired on the spot. However, given how long we have allowed the left to shape public discourse and norms of society through politically correct speech and so-called “cancel culture” in this country, I bet a lot of dumbed-down morons would actually think this might be a good idea to implement. Maybe a “pilot” program can be established in some California or New York school districts to get the ball rolling.

Never underestimate the level of the public’s stupidity to buy into some of the most insane ideas the left puts out there. Case in point, just look at how well the left has managed to manipulate large segments of the public to buy into the climate change financial hoax, that Covid didn’t come from a bioweapons research lab in Wuhan, China, that the current POTUS, Joe Biden, doesn’t have dementia and that he hasn’t sold out the country to anyone with a few million dollars to throw his way. That the last 3 years have indeed been a resounding series of domestic and international successes and things will only get better in Biden’s second term. Don’t believe me. Just talk to any of your Democrat friends, that believe the Democrat Party isn’t the historic and current party of racism.

all of these people need to be put in jail for their crimes against humanity, but instead they are trying to lock up conservatives for the liberals crimes. America better wake up and realize the “Rhinos” in congress many are stonewalling with these length investigations meanwhile many are jailed without due process. America better wake up or there will be blood shed, its unfortunate, but the left is going to try and eliminate their opposition by illegal methods while we play the pawn without judges that support us!!

Just like obama’s policy of picking what part of the law he wants to abide by and ignore the rest.
And, Dictator Beijing biden doing exactly the same thing since 1-20-21.
Both make up their own little set of rules and BOTH HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW AND U.S. CONSTITUTION.
Example: Such as committing election fraud and election interference, espionage and treason on a daily basis since 1-20-21, as by SELLING our U.S. Strategic Oil Reserves to Communist China or SURRENDERING to TERRORIST in Afghanistan and GIVING the TERRORIST $86 BILLION in U.S. Military Equipment and Weapons of ALL Types while getting 13 U.S. Marines killed or by Election Interference by WEAPONIZED DOJ that FALSELY accuse let alone arrest a former U.S. President because he’s a political opponent. The list goes on.
But Dictator Beijing biden will make up another FANTASY WORLD excuse to justify his Loony Tune actions.

I was taught the song “red, yellow, black and white” in Sunday School. I am approaching 80 and have never met a white supremacist. This racial stuff is about dividing the population, creating strife and doing in the Greatest, freedom loving nation in history.
I admonish this generation to take my simple words to heart or it will be your epitaph!

If only the Bull Connors and George Wallaces of the old South had thought of wrapping their racist practices in the warm, fuzzy glow of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” as well… then segregation would seem “reasonable” then too!

The comparison that, under slavery, blacks did not get what they wanted or needed, and that, after emancipation and the civil rights acts, blacks, now, individually, have the choice to integrate or segregate, makes it difficult to formulate policies which represent, cumulatively, the entire race. Imagine the mulatto child who can’t decide whether to integrate or segregate, to marry white or black, to alter the past course of racial identity. Is telling them “God loves you” instructive or beneficial when they are confronted with the alternatives of choice and consider the implications to their future. Then, there’s the “wisdom of Solomon,” “vanity, vanity, all is vanity.” Does that mean that it, really, doesn’t make any difference, anyway? Reality is what it is and it will be what it will be. If we seem calloused or indifferent to the whole history of race, it is because there is no consistency of distinction such as provided for “white supremacy” and “white privilege.” The royal-feudal system taught us that.

America is the only country that became what it became because it afforded the same chance to the people Others segregated by sex or color or religion cast or any other social taboo stayed stuck I have no problem with blacks segregating them selves as long as they are not expecting to be kept by whites Fend for yourself and show me what you are capable of
