We’ve all heard the phrase “Medicare-approved service.” But it can sometimes be difficult to decipher exactly which services are covered under Medicare, and what costs you will be responsible for. AMAC’s Medicare Tip of the Week is to do your research beforehand, so you are not surprised by expenses for tests, services, and items.

For help with Medicare plans – or any questions you may have about Medicare – contact AMAC’s Medicare Advisory Service at 1-855-696-7535 or click the button below!

(Please note that we do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.)

I live in Alaska, I have Medicare A and B, and as far as I can tell it’s not worth signing up for. They won’t pay for my diabetes test strips, I have another insurance to pay for my meds. They don’t have the advantage plan for Alaska, so I have another for dental and vision.. I haven’t figured out what they’ve paid for me over the past year, so I guess I’ll just wait paying them..

I live in San Antonio, Texas. The Social Security Office here, where you supposedly make adjustments to your Medicare Choices, does not accept “Walk-In’ clients, and never seem to answer their phones! I swear, I’m not making this up! I waiting on hold, listening to their “Please stay on the line! Your Call is VERY important to us!” for over 4 hours, one day, only for the phone to be auto-disconnected. I know, Government Offices! What can you do, right? Well, I have a very simple question for them. I called Medicare, where, after a long wait, I talked to someone who said that it WAS possible to deny Medicare Part B, and thus save the impending upcharges the government to making to the Medicare System. I was told that all I had to do was contact the Social Security Office by mail, and request this. I just want a reliable verification of this. Can anybody shed some light on this?
