Lincoln’s Words Serve As a Wake Up Call for Every American

Submitted by AMAC Member Carl  Christensen –

Obama has made numerous attempts to quote Lincoln, so why doesn’t Obama use this famous Lincoln quote:

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

… Abraham Lincoln*

*Although Lincoln is given credit for these quotes, a Reverend William Boetcker penned most of them in 1916.  Some are a variation of words that Lincoln spoke, and some actual Lincoln quotes are included in Reverend Boetcker’s words.  However, many websites still attribute these words to Lincoln.  In any case, whomever spoke them, they ring true.  Americans should take heed at what these words mean – especially in the times we now are facing.

We the American people..regardless of who wins need to stay on top of those elected. It is a privelege not a right to serve us. And being held accountable and responsible, is part of being An American. If their choices do not benefit Americans as a whole, we need to let them know. It doesn’t stop with Tuesday, I believe it has only just begun. A sleeping Giant has awoken…and I’m one of them…just a thought….it is not solved regardless of who wins. They are accountable to those who pay their wages…that is the American taxpayer…Running it like a business- checks and balances. The rest of us budget that way

Here’s a thought..even after this election and whom ever wins. We the American people need to stay on top of all of those who are representing our best interests. Let them know constantly whether they get an “F” or a passing grade. A politician, from the White House to a county commisioner, is supposed to be the voice of the people. It is a privelege …not a right what they do. If I put faith in someone to do what is right for the American people as a WHOLE, I expect exactly that. We need to let them know that. In my opinion all of the following need to be monitored by us: Special intrests groups, Pork legislation, entitlement programs, taxation with/out representation, illegal immigration, cutting programs that benefit those on the bottom(ex:those who have lost jobs and who have and will work for the American dream..),Obamacare, automatic pay raises,… Read more »

Whoever said this, I agree with them. The safety net all Americans wish to provide those less fortunate citizens has been turned into a bread line for all sorts of non citizens and a lifestyle for those with no initiative. We need to stop helping those who are not US citizens so they go home or apply to become citizens. We need to limit the help we give citizens who have decided they don’t need to work. Above all we need to create an economic environment that presents everyone with equal opportunity to EARN a job, which will provide them with perks like health care and a retirement plan. Jobs that will allow them to support themselves without extreme government intervention into their lives.

I believe that if President Obama gets re-elected it will be the end of the USA as we know it. We are facing a financial collapse much like Greece has been going through. Our freedoms that we now enjoy will continue to be eroded, just look at Obamacare and the Catholic church. The future for our kids and grand kids will be bleak. Romney isn’t the perfect candidate, but he is a far sight better than what we have. Please get out and vote, this is the most important election of our lifetimes.

I think we Conservatives are hosed. If Obama wins, we will all be bankrupt. If Romney wins & tries to implement another version of Obama Care/ Romney Care, Lord help us.
Come on Tea Party people. Be strong, Be vigilant, Be prepared to shake up Washington, regardless of who wins because I believe, that unless we implement things like Term Limits, Reduced Pensions for existing politicians,
Congress falls under same laws as citizens, etc. Reduced Gov’t will just be a dream.

I don’t think we the concertizes can win this election the voting machines are rigged for Obama there are only four company’s making voting machines and two of them use none felons to program the machines and George Soros a big Obama contributor is part owner of the company that count our votes in Spain. Voting in this country is out of control! How can you win when the horse your betting on is not in the race!

That would make a wonderful speech for Governor Romney to incorporate these quotes in his speeches. How very true these words are!

I came to this country, my country now, running away from government intervention in to every aspect of private life.
I will not run away again. The United States of America is turning away from allowing her citizens to be free. Let us vote wisely for the freedoms stated in the Constitution, that made this country great.
