Is Debbie Wasserman Schultz Headed for Her Last Showdown?

by Ed Farnan – Democrat Committee Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has been a polarizing figure in congress since 2005. Known as a bomb thrower on the level of Howard Dean, her reputation for outrageous statements has been augmented by her lack of candor.

But Wasserman Schultz has been getting hammered in the polls in her south Florida Congressional district, especially since the DNC floor fight to take God and the backing of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel from their platform.

Wasserman-Schultz has been uncharacteristically silent/evasive on that fight and it has only inflamed speculation she tacitly endorsed the original platform of no God and no Jerusalem.

I talked to Karen Harrington, the GOP candidate for Florida’s 20thCongressional district to get an update on how her campaign is doing. The last time we spoke was in February as she aimed to win the GOP primary for her party.

I asked Karen to update us on her quest to unseat Wasserman Schultz, as well as her opinion on a few issues which will shape the future of our country:

What is your opinion about businesses either reducing employees or changing them to part time status to avoid being in the grasp of Obamacare mandates. She said: “I am not surprised; this administration doesn’t understand the private sector will do everything it can to survive. If it means laying off employees, or causing under employment in order to remain in business, they will do it. Obamacare will kill the economy.”

How are the polls looking for you? “We are delighted; our latest polling shows we are in perfect position with 25% of Democrats saying they will be voting for us. We are only 5 points behind, but there is a 16% undecided factor, which never bodes well for an incumbent.”

“We have received over 1.4 million in donations from 18,000 donors from all 50 states. Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Mark Levin, Michelle Bachman and a whole host of others have thrown their weight behind my campaign. The Tea Party has been instrumental in their support of me, especially the local gathering which is comprised of independents/democrats and republicans.”

“We have support over a wide spectrum of political beliefs, where Wasserman Schultz is perceived as far left and has a narrow band of support. My candidacy offers the voters of Florida a clear cut choice between DWS and myself. We call this campaign Americas Race.”

In fact Harrington feels today’s democrat party has been hijacked by the far left, she sees many democrats switching to the GOP where they feel they have more representation. “If John F. Kennedy were alive today he would not be a member of today’s democrat party.”

As we discussed last time, the present administration has been waging a war against our energy sector, especially coal. Governor Romney declared in his speech he would stop the war on coal and back efforts to make us totally energy independent. Would you support those efforts if you were a member of congress?

“It’s a tragedy what the government has been doing to our coal manufacturing sector. Operations shutting down, companies going bankrupt and projects under assault by the out of control EPA, are going to damage our country. We always get accused of not caring about the environment, etc., when nothing could be further from the truth. We want to see responsible use of our natural resources in making us become energy independent and I will wholeheartedly help a Romney administration attain that.”

“The government needs to become a team player with our energy sector and not an adversary.”

With that being said, there is debate that will pit the ideology fueling the war on our energy sector against a strong voice defending the fossil fuel sector this November 5 at Duke University. It should be considered a must see by Americans who care about the future of our country: See McKibben vs. Epstein.

Karen Harrington also told Speaker of the House, John Boehner when she met him: “He and the GOP will have to earn my respect in order to keep my support. I just recently switched from being an independent to becoming a registered republican and I don’t believe in a go along to get along attitude.”

If Karen achieves success this November, her victory will send a clear message to Washington and she will go there with a wide coalition of Americans behind her.

“IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN SEVERAL PLACES THAT 71 MEMBERS OF CONGRESS ARE COMMUNISTS, ” commented Roger Williams.

I’m willing to bet however, that Mr. Williams cannot give a single name of one of these “several places.” And equating asian made cars to communism is another pathetic statement for which he can’t provide one shred of evidence.

Did we not learn in this last election, that if you can’t prove what you say, you shouldn’t say it. That’s part of what caused Mr. romney to lose.

Fortunately for the country, people with narrow minds who aren’t able to thinnk for themselves are dying out, and in a few more years will be fossils.

Yes, you should speak your mind, but only if you know what your talking about, which Mr. Williams apparently does not.

If DWS goes away, there are literally hundreds more just like her to take her place. The degree to which the socialist movement has embedded itself into our society is incredible.

Hate to say this but,let the main-lame stream have her and her ilk all to themselves and keep her off conservative radio and TV. The more of a stage this nut has the more you validate her and her lies.

Why aren’t the Republicans bringing up a huge issue with seniors? This is something that was bad under George W. Bush, but it’s even worse with President Obama. It’s something that gets worse the longer it goes on. Is that enough hints??

The 900-pound gorilla in the room is the near-zero interest rates on CD savings. It’s impoverishing seniors who thought they had secured enough savings to be comfortable in retirement. And it’s making it impossible for those who still have stable jobs to use the “power of compounding” to prepare for retirement.

It worries me that the Republicans, such as this potential Republican congresswomen fro FL aren’t making an issue of this. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE, OR WE’LL ALL DIE IMPVERISHED….if ObamaCare doesn’t kill us first.

Debbie is exactly what the ruin of america needs. She supports her man. Socialists, and oh yes a Muslim. She needs to be defeated and so does her boss. What are our children going to say to us when they get older and realize that we had a chance to defeat solialism and markism, but failed to vot e them out.

it will not be a good day for what we have known as america if we allow these Muslims to run our country. Just look at what they are doing people. WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

I like the sounds of Karen Harrington. I wish her well.

There are millions of us who are conservative and own Asian cars. Many of the American cars are made in part, at least, in Canada, Mexico, and remember when the sunami hit Japan many car manufacturers in the U.S. were shut down because many parts were made there. It is because of the Japanese car manufacturers that GM, Ford, and Crysler have had to improve there products to compete.

Robert Gee; my mistake, I meant to address your comment on my statemment posted @ 11:40AM

Dennis, I could not agree with you more on your comment. I’ve been saying that for more than 30 years! If one looks at our history and how manufacturing played a huge roll in our country’s prospering, it is not difficult to note that we were “Pearl Harbored” twice in the 20th century. The second time was through manufacturing of goods coming out of Japan between the end of WW-II and the late 1960’s. Where Asian car makers really cleaned up was during the Carter Administration and the gas rationing that was taking place. As we have seen it has only gotten better for them and worse for us due to the so called watch dogs if government; EPA, Dept. of Energy, C.A.F.E. Standards, etc. The one best way to get out of dependency on foreign products is to start beating them at their own game. It starts with Romneys’… Read more »

An absolute disgrace to women. I have never heard such stupidity in my life as what spews forth from her mouth.

That’s a toss up !!! I would say they are on an even keel Stan.

She is repulsive in her thinking, she lies, talks without evaluating the content of the idea.
She should be fired and replaced immediately. I cannot stand to listen or see her,she is destroying the PARTY.

That party became destroyed when they started leaning toward socialism and maybe even on the brink of communism, it is far from being the dem. party of yester days Marie.

I can’t say I know DWS is a communist, but she is certainly a far left extremist, and an abrasive liar. However, Roger Williams is certainly using a mighty broad brush to paint all Asians as communists!

Everytime I see Debbie, all I can think of is a PIRANHA. Then she starts talking and confims it.

DEBBIE IS A FULL BLOWN COMMUNIST OTHERWISE SHE WOULD NOT BE WHERE SHE IS.. I AM TIRED OF THE LAME STREAM MEDIA NEVER USING THE WORD COMMUNIST UNLESS THEY DESCRIBE CHINA OR NORTH KOREA. IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN SEVERAL PLACES THAT 71 MEMBERS OF CONGRESS ARE COMMUNISTS… NO MATTER WHAT,,, IT IS ALWAYS THE VOTER WHO CHOOSES THE CANDIDATES THEY ELECT.. STUPID PEOPLE VOTE STUPIDLY I SUPPOSE.. I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR A DEMOCRAT IN MY 60 YEARS NOR HAVE I EVER OWNED AN ASIAN CAR… (THEY SEEM TO RUN HAND IN HAND)

Does DWS realize she is reaffirming the stereotype of Southern blondes with big hair being airheads?
