AMAC: Poll Shows Seniors Like Ryan for VP by Wide Margin

Ryan’s Medicare proposal is especially appealing to older Americans

BOHEMIA, NY, Aug 13 – A survey of members taken on August 11, the day Mitt Romney announced Paul Ryan was his pick for VP, showed 82% thought it was a “great choice,” said Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

“Although the poll was taken on short notice, a statistically relevant 1,200 members responded with the overwhelming majority opting for Ryan over Marco Rubio and other potential choices,” Weber noted.  He said that AMAC’s membership has consistently proved to be up to date on the issues and that he believed they voted the way they did because the Ryan Federal budget plan, as passed by the House, “makes sense,” particularly in light of the fact that President Obama has not submitted a budget at all for more than three years.

The AMAC chief said that Ryan’s Medicare proposal “is especially appealing to older Americans.  It’s carefully crafted and ensures that seniors will continue to receive Medicare benefits.  Additionally, it would let them opt out to select other choices, such as plans similar to what our Senators and Members of the House now enjoy.  What we like most about it is that it puts the patient in the driver’s seat, instead of a government bureaucrat in Washington.”

Ryan, as VP, adds “gravitas” to the Romney ticket, especially when compared with the Obama-Biden choice, Weber said.  “Their failed policies are chiefly responsible for our 16 Trillion dollar National Debt and the out-of-control spending that exponentially hikes the debt each and every day.

ABOUT AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens [http://www.amac.us] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those traditional organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

Go Ryan! I hope he absolutely guts Social Security and Medicare. Social Security is nothing but a giant ponzi scheme. I’m tired of my hard earned money going to dead beat old farts who got back what they put into SS after just 3 years or so of retirement. Let me keep MY money!!!

I can’t wait for the first debate between Ryan and Joe Biden. Biden will turn up sick and his Daddy O will have to send a note that he won’t be there.

I am a senior citizen who is very impressed by Paul Ryan! He offers solid ideas, possesses moral integrity, is hardworking, thoughtful, and conservative. He is able to speak with clarity on the issues, particularly the budget and medicare. He is not an elitist who talks down to people, but comes across as humble and caring, while showing knowledge and intelligence along with a common-sense approach to problem solving. He speaks in a direct, straightforward, truthful manner that is a breath of fresh air compared to President Obama and VP Biden. Obama keeps saying he inherited a mess, but it’s nothing compared to the mess he’s leaving for his successors. However, I can’t think of a better team to tackle the job than Romney/Ryan, and I can’t wait to cast my vote for them!

So far, what I’ve read about Ryan asking for subsidies , duh, I don’t remember. Goes only to show he is a lying SOB. Show us your taxes, Romney. We would see he pays next to nothing compared to us paupers. He is wealthy, he has us to pay his taxes.

I agree with what everybody is saying about Ryan and Romney. We need good, honest, people with integrity and a purpose to bring our great country back from most certain doom if Obama and Biden ( mr. Chain) are re-elected.

I agree with you totally, Nancy! Paul Ryan is brilliant and will make a great president someday – like in 8 years (two Romney terms and then Paul!). The government has got to be brought under control. Way too many people sitting home collecting welfare. Way too many, and one of them lives right next door to me. She’s 22, already has one illegitimate daughter and is now pregnant with her second kid. No husband in sight. No stready “boyfriend” around that I’ve ever seen. She will not work. She breeds kids. I had thought she was actually going to make something of her life, but I guess she’s a baby makiing machine. (Not nice, but it’s the way I feel.) Cut off everybody who is able to work. Keep welfare for those who absolutely cannot work. Everybody elese – get a job!

Having read Paul Ryan’s last budget, I can say, with trustworthiness, this man is smart and puts forth a balanced (please excuse the pun) paln. We need to push for this duo to win.

I think this choice was outstanding because it throws down the gauntlet, big time! It shows Romney is serious about trying to put America back on the right track and he has given notice to the ship of fools who are running things now. Paul Ryan has been working non-stop to present a budget that will begin the process and has largely been attacked because of it. As a senior citizen, I am willing to do my part; but the job ahead is huge and it can’t….and won’t…happen overnight. The behemoth we call government has far too many of “those people” who will fight it every step of the way because they are the ones who have been bleeding our country dry. I will vote for this ticket and I will pray every day for their success.

I can’t happen overnight? Yet you expected Obama to fix it in 4 years? If Romeny wins and things still suck in 4 years, are you going to call for him go?
