AMAC Poll Shows 100% of Respondents Want a Special Prosecutor to Investigate the Benghazi Attack

6,393 AMAC respondents want to know why and how our Ambassador and three other Americans were murdered on September 11th and was there a cover up  –

BOHEMIA, NY, Nov 16 – Americans want to know what happened in Benghazi on September 11th and, according to a poll taken by the Association of Mature American Citizens, they demand answers sooner than later, said Dan Weber, president of AMAC.

There were an unprecedented 6,418 respondents in the association’s on-site survey taken this week and 6,393 of them said they wanted a Special Prosecutor to investigate possible misconduct over the way the Benghazi attack was handled, Weber explained.  He noted that it is virtually unheard of to have that many respondents to a poll, let alone to have a statistical return of 100% in favor an issue.

“It is obvious that Benghazi is a burning post-election question in the minds of the American people.  They want to know why and how our Ambassador Christopher Stevens was murdered along with an aide, Sean Smith, and embassy security personnel, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.  They also want to know if there was a deliberate cover up,” Weber added.

He said that “the response to this survey was highly unusual in that there was unanimity among the respondents.  It is an issue that was skirted over during the last days of the presidential election campaign, but it can no longer be ignored by President Obama.”

Weber said he was disappointed that “the sudden resignation of CIA chief David Petraeus last week and, the ensuing scandal, was needed to attract the attention of the mainstream media, in earnest, to a story that should have been front page from day one.”

Petraeus’ resignation came just days before he was scheduled to testify before Congress about what he knew and when he knew it.  The timing has sparked significant speculation about the administration’s role in what some have called “a nightmare of a fiasco.”

President Obama and his election campaign surrogates kept insisting for weeks following the assault on our Consulate in Benghazi that it was the work of a “flash mob” upset by an American made film about Islam.  This, despite a growing mountain of evidence to the contrary.

“If it was, indeed, a campaign ploy to duck the issue, it worked because it wasn’t until after the votes were counted did talk about the film cease,” according to the AMAC chief.

Committees in both houses of Congress are investigating the events before and after the attack, “but we need to ensure there is an investigation untainted by possible political biases.  If ever circumstances cried out for the appointment of an independent Special Prosecutor, those surrounding the incident in Benghazi certainly do,” Weber concluded.

ABOUT AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens [http://www.amac.us] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

Don’t hold your breath. The administration has trampled the Constitution and will sweep this under the rug as well. Obama lied and continues to exacerbate the lie with the help of the media. It used to be that an American President lying to the country was grounds for impeachment. Today it is modus operandi, and acceptable. We need to get serious people in charge or we are going to have a difficult road ahead (as if it weren’t difficult enough already). “Dogs bark and the caravan moves on”.

Well, noone asked me if I wanted to participate in a poll about a special prosecutor to Investigate the Benghazi attack, but here is my vote anyway……well, of course !!! Why? There are a lot of reasons, but the best reason is because 4 Americans died there for nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, because the lame stream media and Zerobomma would not want it, therefore it should be done.

Nobody asked me if I wanted a special prosecutor to attack the President. Sounds like it would cost tens of millions for a fishing trip. And I find it interesting that there were over 5 attacks on US embassies when George W Bush was in office and not a peep, and many many more Americans died. Why don’t these republican senators and congressmen do what they were sent to Washington DC for, to do their jobs and to get America back to work. Stop the obstructionism, the world is watching. All this antagonistic hoopla against the President narrows down to white racial anxiety, and sour grapes because the majority of the American electorate voted for reelecting President Obama and taxing the top 1% and for a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her body, and against voting for Willard Romney and his draconian cuts to safety nets and… Read more »

Please refresh my memory. What embassies were attacked during the Bush era, and exactly how many Americans were among the “many many more” who died? And was there really no “peep” from the mainstream media?

Stan

There’s too much generalization on this website. Could you specify the US embassies attacked during the Bush era? And how many dead Americans constitute “many many more”? If what you say is true, it seems to me that there would have been a lot of “peeping” by the mainstream media.

And I would like to see this poll? Who were polled? Was the poll conducted by real posters or just some right wing organization who are full of BS anyway? We all are getting tired of the manipulation of the media by extremist right and their backers the billionaire corporations who are indeed the biggest welfare queens out there.

This is a joke. It’s like asking people at the GOP convention if they want to elect Romney.

How many thousands of troops died hunting for wmds in Iraq? Attacks happen every day on US assets, the GOP is just looking for a distraction from their fiscal cliff and their failed senior attacking polices. I for one am not going to starve or go without my Rx because some guy wants to buy a fourth BMW. Lets keep our eye on the prize here.

I don’t understand. How does someone’s number of cars affect your amount of food or your Rx?

It’s wishful thinking….special prosecutor an all….but nothing is going to come of it! Why. Because it will be covered up and buried. The news media will smooth it over because they are owned by the liberal Dems and they worship Obama as though he were the second coming. A majority of people in this country voted to reelect Obama because they sincerely believe that he and they are simply victims of George Bush and this Benghazi thing is a smear campaign by the conservatives and it is nothing but pure fabrication to discredit Obama. The truth will never be known. The liberal news media will make sure of that. This is in large part why Obama was reelected. A majority of the American people think that all of our problems are the fault of George Bush. The people believe it is so because the Democrats and Obama have told them… Read more »

The American people had an opportunity to show they had learned from the obvious mistake of electing Obama in the first place. They had an opportunity to turn away from the course of financial and moral ruin towards the long, hard road to sound economic policies and the principles from which this country was originally founded. Instead what we saw on election night was that the majority of voters really have learned nothing from the last four years. That accelerating wasteful spending and driving up our national debt means nothing next to the promise of a free cell phone and food stamps. That an administration that lies non-stop, about almost everything of consequence, is given a free pass as long as the government “freebies” keep flowing. That’s the America we now live in and where we are now the minority. While we call for economic sanity and a return to… Read more »

The continued lies and propaganda of this administration must be exposed including the latest embassy attack when four Americans lost their lives serving each of us!!!! President Obabma has a cult following led by the media who refuse to see that he rules by fiat and soft tyrany. Four years later and they still blame Bush for an economy that has been riddled by Obama with socialist tactics. I pray they will awaken from their trance before it is too late, and our grandchildren will no longer have the freedoms that we have enjoyed since the American Revolution. It is time for conservatives to stand firm and apeak loudly to refute each of his lies.

All good patriotic citizens should made aware…..that their president has the unique distinction of being the… VERY FIRST PRESIDENT (HE LOVES TO BE THE FIRST) TO: SIT AND WATCH A LIVE SNUFF FILM OF OUR 4 BRAVE MEN IN BENGHAZI BEING SLAUGHTERED BY THE VERMIN WHO SAY THEY ARE THE “RELIGION OF PEACE”. I find this repugnant, reprehensible and despicable. How does one live with them self after such an event. That is why Obama could not look Charles Woods in the eye and gave him a “limp fish” handshake while meeting the families at the airport upon return of the…dead… Benghazi heroes.

All military personnel know the consequences and punishment if a military person is found in “Dereliction of Duty.”

Obama is the Commander in Chief. His role in Benghazi is tantamount to “Dereliction of Duty.” What should be done?

QUESTION FOR OBAMA: Who concocted the idea of the video as the excuse as to why our embassy was attacked? Was it you, Obama, or Axelrod? It sound like a perfect Chicago style strategy. And just how long did you simpletons think you could get away with it? OBAMA, FYI, THIS STORY AIN’T GOIN AWAY. IT IS GOING TO STICK TO YOU LIKE STINK ON CACA…..you do speak a little Spanish lingo don’t you, Obama?

QUESTIONS FOR OBAMA: 1. When did you learn about the attack? 2. What were the exacts words said to you? 3. Did you watch the live video feed in the living room and who was with you? 4. When the request for help came in who made the decision not to send military assistance? 5. Who gave the orders to stand down, 3 separate times, and what was actually said? 6. Did you, Obama, watch the men get murdered…the equivalent of watching a live snuff film? 7. Obama, you, as Commander in Chief, were derelict in your duties by not protecting and defending our embassy and its personnel, thereby causing the deaths of 4 American heroes. You, Obama, left our men behind to be slaughtered and raped. 8. Obama, President Nixon resigned in disgrace for his lies and cover up of a 3rd rate burglary in which no one died… Read more »

The same thing happened with Operation “Fast & Furious” , the gun smuggling by goverment personnel to Mexico’s drug cartels who used these weapons to slaughter thousands. Obama used executive privilege to cover this up and keep Eric Holder,US Attorney General from going to jail. This ruse was thought up to support banning guns and changing gun laws.Nothing will be done about this either. Just swept under the rug.

ON BENGHAZI, THE GENERAL KNEW IT WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK. PASSED IT ON- IT GOT LOST IN TRANSLATION. MY GUESS IT’LL FALL INTO THE STATE DEPT AND HILLARY, WHO HAS LAYWERED UP ALREADY, WILL BE THE SCAPEGOAT.THE PRESIDENT DID KNOW IT WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK IN HIS HEART. BUT BECAUSE OF THE ELECTION, SAID IT WAS DUE TO A MOVIE. HE SAID THIS AT THE UN.
IT’LL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW HE GETS OUT OF THIS ONE.

Considering the terrorist attack in Benghazi was watched in real-time by the leadership of the CIA, the DoD, and the White House and that now two months after the fact. we’re still playing with Congressional hearings to “investigate what went on during the 7 plus hours of the attack” is pitiful. I get the politics involved in the unspoken official policy of appeasement and denial now being practiced in Washington, but this isn’t rocket science folks. Four people were left to die at the hands of terrorists, because no one in the White House wanted to issue the go order to the military or the CIA to launch either combat jets or armed drones to defend the location in Benghazi before the election. It wouldn’t have fit well with the narrative of “Osama is dead, GM is alive” that had been repeated nearly non-stop just a few weeks before at… Read more »

And exactly what would a special prosecutor, appointed by politicians do other than help to cover up more lies? And what will happen to those it finds responsible, if any? An early retirement with a fat check every month? This is exactly what the politicians feed off of, another dog and pony show with photo ops to use in their re-election bids, when in fact it’s just more diversionary tactics to draw everyone’s attention away from the fact that the country is burning to the ground. This country is morally, spiritually and financially bankrupt. Welcome to modern Rome.

The immense sense of loss for America that I feel is not centered on president Obama. I am suffering from abject disappointment for the American electorate, the more than 50% of all registered voters who were too uncaring for the welfare of their nation to exercise their right to vote. They single handedly gave socialism the votes it needed to see the White House would remain under the control of a Marxist Socialist. They also left the U.S. Senate under the control of Harry Reid, a socialist and his Socialist Democratic Party cohorts. Fixing what Obama and the Socialist Democrats have wrecked in America would have been a formidable but doable task. Now, with them in control for another four years I fear my beloved nation may not survive as a bastion for personal freedoms, democratic form of government and the greatest republic of all time. Because the majority of… Read more »

The Benghazi embassy should not have even been established! This administration wants to appease our enemies, relying on soft speech diplomacy and sending our enemies billions of our dollars. We have become the laughing stock of the world. Our lack of action when our embassy called for security and back- up should have happened immediately….should have been in place with no necessity for “asking.” Now we see in Israel and Gaza the blatant involvement of Iran in that conflict….they see the U.S. as weaklings. Our foreign policies beg for failure! We see Iranian armament and thousands of Iranian “advisors” serving in Gaza. At the same time biological and chemical weapons are being supplied to the Hezbollah in Lebanon…northern border of Israel. This is WMD! When will the U.S. cease “dumbing down?” Obama is not the real problem…it is an electorate that is “out to lunch!” AND look who is leading… Read more »

Received your free prescription discount card with our renewal membership cards. We use mostly generic prescriptions that we purchase at very reasonable cost at Walmart so did not think your card of much importance. Then we had to get a prescription not covered by Walmart policy. Cost was $45 so I offered your discount card and after brief check on coverage was given the the prescription for only $13. Thanks AMAC!!

The initial reaction by the administration to the Benghazi attack is not particularly hard to explain. All of the major command centers in Washington, including the White House, knew within an hour or at least a couple of hours that the consulate was under attack by an organized force. As a retired Army officer, it is inconceivable to me that President Obama wasn’t fully informed. Had it been merely a demonstration with no forced entry, he might have been informed but not briefed in detail. The CIA developed a set of “talking points”. Those “in the know” understand what happens in these sorts of situations. Former Director Petraeus testified last Friday that an actual, (presumable) truthful summary of events was included in these “points”. That is, as far as the public has been advised of his testimony. Someone changed the talking points between the time they were created and the… Read more »

Interesting comments circulating from two unknown authors:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with result is that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage.

He is methodically destroyoing the things that make America the greatest country on the earth. He wants our strength in the world diminished so that Islam reigns. Obamacare will end our healthcare system and we will be forced into his government plan. And guess what……..American fools reelected him. Dark days ahead.

June
3 years 10 months ago
Yes, Maureen, I agree “dark days” are ahead. I also believe there is something even darker behind all of this. Obama is just a puppet. He is a gifted speaker but take his teleprompter away and he babbles. We know next to nothing about where he came from and he came from nowhere. He was somehow groomed for the position. The Nobel Prize for Peace, for what? A community organizer! Give me a break…..People thought Hitler was wonderful in the beginning also and we know how that ended. The liberal, lying media/phoney celebrities and the (very ill-informed) people who voted him back in office will find out soon enough. Sad…. The author of your quote above was Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor about the fall of the Athenian Republic 2,000 years ago. He wrote it around the time of the adoption of our new Consitution, 1787. It rings very… Read more »
