AMAC: Obama Won a Second Term at the Cost of a Divided Nation

He needs to spend the next four years listening to what the people want and stop trying to foist his personal agenda on them –

BOHEMIA, NY, Nov 8 – Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, has published an open letter to President Obama, chiding him for the failures of his first term and exhorting him to spend the next four years listening to what the American people want and to stop trying to foist his personal, ideological agenda on them.

The president’s main accomplishment after four years in office was to divide the nation, he said.

The letter can be accessed at http://amac.us/an-open-letter-to-the-president.

The president, Weber said, won a “pyrrhic victory on Tuesday in which he gained a second term at the cost of a divided nation.  His first task should be to heal the wounds he inflicted on us in his bid to remain in power.

“Let the election be a warning to politicians at all levels of authority throughout the nation.  Americans will not tolerate the deliberate manipulation of their lives for the sake of an individual’s personal agenda.  Notwithstanding the president’s win, the people spoke in a loud, clear voice and said they want a leadership that is sensitive to their need for freedom in their personal lives.  They want a government that spends less and taxes them less and that allows free markets to create the jobs they need in order to live the American Dream. They want us to work together.”

Weber said he was compelled to “memorialize President Obama’s failed leadership” in his open letter as a means of driving home the point that America’s diversity is a powerful, unified force that thrives because of our tradition of personal liberty.

Weber’s letter reads in part:

“Instead of trying to unite all our economic forces and get the economy moving again, you choose to divide us by class, pitting the imaginary one percent against the rest of us, all for political gain.

“Surely you know that the true power of our country comes when we are united and when we stand together- not when we are a splintered, quarreling mob.”

ABOUT AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens [http://www.amac.us] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those traditional organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

The solution for this country’s problems is no longer political. It has to be spiritual solution and that begins with the believers in this country asking God for forgiveness for their sins, humbling themselves and then and only then will God heal our land…

I have to wonder, is the issue of “winner takes all” a spiritual problem as well?

Obama won, right, but if you read the bible, it was already fore told. In the books of Daniel and Revelation. The United States, Great Britain, Russia, Germany and France are in the two main prophecy books of the bible. Obama had to win because America will lose her #1 standing in the world powers. but don’t worry we come back and help Isreal and fight against the anti-christ and his crew. So we at least know we don’t perish or join the anti-christ and his crew. If you don’t beleive me go to chapters 7-12 of Daniel and Revelation 12:14. Tip: The bible tells you what the beasts are that Daniel is dreaming about. Hint: the beasts represent nations in the world today, because they have to be here for the 2nd coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Just look up which nations has the animal symbol. (example: eagle… Read more »

Hate to say it, but there are a lot of people who voted for Obama that cite religion as one of their primary reasons. Too often they see people trying to jam religion down their throats, particularly those with extreme views. If that small minority would learn that sometimes silence is golden, I think it would stop turning people away from the conservative movement.

It also doesn’t help when you have a few radio talk show hosts screaming like raving lunatics…

@ Jim: You are mistaken! The majority of the people DID NOT vote for B.O., they voted for Romney. The ‘electorial vote’ is NOT a good voting system. The majority of the states were for Romney. That is how we should count our votes – by how many PEOPLE want one or the other candidate. If These so called people would use their heads and really listen to WHAT the Conservatives are saying, maybe then they might learn something. But they prefer to be stupid and destroy the GREATEST NATION on earth for their SELISHNESS.

Right, lets this time allow the less populous states to decide the election. What happens when you don’t like that outcome next time, switch to another scenario where your candidate wins ?

Spreading lies and disinformation does not help the conservative cause either. I can not believe some of the irrational and completely inaccurate comments posted by many on this site.

At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Policymic revealed similar popular vote numbers to those from the Post. They reported that Obama won 50 percent of the votes (58,779,121 votes) while Romney received 48 percent (56,518,209).

Pat, unfortunately the majority of people DID vote for President Obama. We have had minority vote presidents, but he is not one of them.

Mrs Smith is so right, obuma planned carefully to divide our country, we are not the kind of human beings to even suspect what he was up to 4 years ago. He was carefully planning to create this breakdown of unity because he knew this was the only way he could win. He made all the promises that the meek wanted to them to get their vote and now that he has he will abandon them because he knows he cannot be elected after the 4 years. On Election night I watched with sickness these poor people like sheep so happy because they thought he would give them his promises, poor things they didn’t even realize they were being led to the slaughter. We have to get going and turn this around, and we will do it.

As one writer commented on another blog, the darker forces took over. Those that didn’t think this could happen don’t even recognize it as we strangle with our heads under water. When Romney’s lead was apparent, maybe we thought he was going to win, but just as he won in the first election, the dark forces rushed forward and skewed the results. We are doomed, I fear. That is, unless we read and obey 11 Chronicles 7:19, and do as God admonished the Israelites to do when they were in a similar predicament. Every generation or two, God would warn them that they were disobeying his commands, they didn’t listen, then He would allow them to lose a war or two, suffer untold losses, when they would seek his face, it would be turned away. He never turned his back on them, but just turn his face away. Then they… Read more »

The fact that Obama got reelected is devastating enough, but I am more sad with the fact that half of the people that live in our great country voted him in. What were they thinking? I don’t recognize this country anymore & fear that by the time Obama is done with his term, it will be too late to get it back.

This nation is in great peril and, unfortunately many (most?) do not recognize this. Some people refuse to see what is happening because of their fears. If we collectively do not wake up soon, it will be too late. I never ever thought that I would see this day come, not in my 75 years. We need leaders to help us understand all that is happening and what we can do to correct the problem. Time is of the essence. Earlier this morning (on the net), I viewed a beheading. Art the beginning, I could not believe that it would actually happen. Much to my dismay, it did. I should have stopped watching, but I just could not believe it would happen. I suppose it may have been shock that prevented me from stopping. We, as a nation have to rise up and fight for our very lives and the… Read more »

Divide he did throughout Obama’s 1st term and, he has started out his 2nd with no let up. My understanding is that approx. 3 million “Republicans” did not vote. Why? Could it have been that they were tired of voting for GOP candidates who do not support our vision of America? I did vote, I am truly sorry to say. I feel that I let my country down by not joining those who refused to bowdown to the GOP, again. I am a member of AMAC and yesterday I joined the Tea Party. I am going to start taking an active part and support those organizations who support our Constitution and conservative values. My hope is that it is not too late. I urge all of you who see this to join me. Please, let’s do all we can to stop the bleeding and heal this great nation of ours,… Read more »

Obama will not change. His father was a communist, he was raised muslim and associated with Socialist.
He does not love America but sees it as something to rearrange to conform with countries around the world.

He is accomplishing what he intended………….Another Socialist Nation!

Stan

If President Obama truly wants a positive and lasting legacy, he will have to quickly become “the great unifier” instead of the divider we have seen during the past four years. Is he capable of that? Well, we’ll certainly find out soon enough…

Wan

Stan, I would like to think so, but he just got another 4 years, and his promises will fall by the wayside, because he knows no one will stop him now. The republicans don’t have the stomach to do it. Sadly…..
