AMAC: Expect an ‘Avalanche’ of New Regulations in 2013

President Obama has earned for the country a new nickname, ‘the Regulation Nation’ –

BOHEMIA, NY, Jan 11 – An avalanche of new regulations in 2013, and beyond, will have a profound impact on each and every American, warns Dan Weber, president of AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens.

“For starters, there’s the Obama administration’s latest Regulation Agenda which contains tens of thousands of pages of new rules that will have a more than $123 billion impact on us.  The shame of it is that we didn’t see it coming.  President Obama’s Regulation Agenda was supposed to be published last spring, but was delayed for no explicable reason until the Friday before Christmas – in the midst of the Holiday Season when no one was looking,” Weber explained.

The AMAC chief noted that in just the last 90 days of President Obama’s first term his administration issued more than 5,500 proposals for new regulations.  “So this is just the beginning of a new onslaught we can expect in the next four years.”

John Malcolm, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, said the regulations are pervasive.  “They control the cost of the products that you buy, your living conditions, your work conditions, limit the kinds of activities that you can do.”

Weber points out that there are even some direct costs hidden in the President’s agenda.  “For example, there’s a $63 per individual fee that we all must cough up designed to raise $25 billion to pay for the admitted chaos in the insurance markets when Obamacare takes full effect.  We didn’t find out about this until his list of new rules was published on December 21st.”

Regulations also serve to stymie job creation and economic growth, which will have a damaging effect on future generations, he added.

He said that perhaps Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) was right when he said: “The Administration broke the law by withholding this document due in April until the end of the year, and broke the President’s promise to be transparent by releasing it at a time when they believed as few people as possible might see it.”

Some believe that the Executive Branch occasionally uses its regulatory authority to bypass Congress because sometimes it’s easier to make rulings instead of enacting laws.  “Whether they are right or wrong, said Weber, the fact is that under this administration we’ve earned the moniker, Regulation Nation.”

According to the Heritage Foundation, President Obama issued four times as many new regulations in his first term in office than did President Bush in his first four years.

ABOUT AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens [http://www.amac.us] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

God has finally had enough of this nation! We as a people have allowed His presence to be eleminated from schools, colleges, halls of justice and every government function. Satan is more than willing to fill the void.and has! we see his presence in every mass shooting and ask “why?” there has always been “the gay lifestyle” but never before has the nation condoned it, supported it and protected it! 6 million jews were exterminated in nazi germany, a horrible tragedy. since roe vs. wade 1973 we have murdered 60 million of our own sons and daughters!a real dilema for social security.we have sown to the wind and we will reap the whirlwind. God’s word says “if my people (Christians) will turn from their wicked ways and repent, then will I hear from heaven and heal their land.

Researching property in Belize. Thinking seriously of selling out and moving there. I don’t recognize our country any longer. Obama is ramming full speed ahead in destroying our great nation. Our elected representatives are infected with the dreaded “Wimp’s Syndrome.”

“Only to FOLD, and to sign onto the GOP’s budget plan.”Hey Carol, reimnd me what was the GOP plan in Minnesota? Was the plan to borrow $1.5 billion so it could be spent by Democrats? Was that the plan?Because that’s just what Minnesota Republicans did.Minnesota Republicans raised $1.5 billion in new revenue in the middle of a recession by borrowing that money. They then gave that borrowed money to the Democrats to spend on Democrat salaries. Was that the big plan? Not to cut spending, but instead just borrow the money and give it to Democrat unions?Pardon me if I don’t celebrate the “Republican victory.”

One of the most under reported or recognized shifts happening in America today is the 1%, those millionaires and billionaires that all these socialists see as the way to pay off the debt/deficit are leaving and sending their money on ahead. Businesses are doing the same as 3rd world countries, like Belize, welcome them with open arms.

PaulE

It’s not just the vilified one percent that are looking at bailing out at this point. A lot of people in the top 10 to 20 percentile recognize that the socialists will not stop at the top one or two percent of earners. The real goal of all socialists is to tap into the middle class, because that’s where the real money is to fund these massive welfare state programs.

By the way, New Zealand is not bad and if Australia ever gets rid of the socialist leader currently in power, that would be a fine destination as well. Look at the top 10 list of economic freedom countries for potential alternatives. The United States is only number 10 on that list. We’ve been dropping steadily since 2009 thanks to Obama. Bad economic policies matter.

Yup.And, the media will call the GOP “losers.”I hope you all have the stomach for this! JUST. SIT. TIGHT!The White House is renaidg the poll numbers! They’re terrified. It’s like obama made it to be their quarterback. But one of his arm’s fell off. And, he’s leaning against his teleprompter for support. You know what’s better? He’s not our playing golf. To play golf, now, he goes into the white house basement. The small deal?Temporary. And, it will still need to get voted on in Congress. That’s where you will find out who is afraid of voters, after all. And, who is not. And, SARAH PALIN IS GONNA HAVE A FIELD DAY!

Obama and his minions have the IRS, Homeland Security and Obamacare. They only thing preventing them from having total control of the American people, are our guns. They are working on that now. Whose side will our military take. Will they side us, the American people, or with Obama against us. Not a happy problem to think about is it?

Yes, spending would need to be cut and maybe a seoncd job would be necessary. However, unless I receive relief from the creditors, those bills still need to be paid or I default and then the situation becomes worse.Good, we now have a common basis for discussion. Obama’s joke of a budget failed to take any serious steps whatsoever toward the sorts of necessary steps you listed. The only recourse left to the Republicans is to take away his credit card, because of his complete fecklessness. There’s plenty of revenue to service the outstanding debt. There’s just not enough to pay for all the other stuff, too.

That’s what those folks in D.C. are getting paid the big bucks for – ledehrsaip.Instead we have one side that absolutely will not support real tax increases or real defense cuts, and another side that absolutely will not support real cuts to entitlements.Of course, the only way to avoid default, avoid raising the debt ceiling, avoid raising taxes, and avoid entitlement/defense cuts is to eliminate all other government spending, from the FBI and Border Patrol on through the Junior Environmental Diversity Women’s Planning Training Coordinator’s office. That would work… for about six months. Unless the economy improves next year the growth in entitlement costs from our aging population will mean that in 2012 revenues won’t even be enough to cover entitlements + defense.

” … at the end of the day (meaning november next year) I think tnghis will turn out OK …”You’re wrong about that. And I’ll explain why.It is NOT OK for Republicans to be borrowing money that our children will have to pay back so that Barack Obama can KEEP FUCKING SPENDING IT.Republicans are SELLING US OUT and if they succeed in pushing through a debt limit increase then we need to launch a THIRD political party. One that won’t vote to give Barack Obama and the Democrats any more borrowed money.I’m sick and fucking tired of Republicans voting to give Democrats MY FUCKING MONEY.If Republicans don’t STOP THE SPENDING the Barack Obama will get re-elected because there will be a third party. So, it’s not going to go the way you hope it will.

I think Obama has an attitude that leads to viwnieg anyone who gives him bad news as being disloyal. This is why he thinks that 80% of the people are in favor of higher taxes. One of his aides interpreted a poll in those terms for him. The aide knew he would be pleased to hear that. This is one of his weaknesses and it may lead to his downfall. He could eventually become totally disconnected from reality. I have had bosses like this in the past.BTW, since spending in the last three years has increased by several multiples, why is reducing it by 40% such a big deal? Why is a roll-back to earlier levels of spending such a bad thing.

…Do you believe and will you state that no Republican will vote FOR an inaecrse in the debt ceiling? That is an idiotic question. Here is what I believe to be true. Some from the left and right are participating in talks with Obama. What the public knows about these talks is gleaned through the lens of various media (and what the participants choose to share). We’ve been told about some deals that have been brought to the table. From the Republican side, we’ve also heard, “I will not vote to inaecrse the debt ceiling, no matter what.” Regardless of any deal that gets a handshake during secretive meetings, raising the debt ceiling depends upon the House voting to do so. Months ago, the House symbolically voted against raising the debt ceiling. Will the House Republicans stand firm? I don’t know. If Boehner makes a deal, will it pass the House? I… Read more »

The problem we have is a President who is not being trhuftul. We can’t get a deal done because he’s not able to speak trhuftully to the American people about this issue. When the President of the United States holds a press conference and lies through his teeth by claiming that in the middle of a recession then it’s pretty clear that he’s just unable to be honest with us.The only people agitating for tax increases are the people who are going to get that money: union members that work for the government.Nobody else believes it’s a good idea to confiscate more money from already struggling Americans. So … the reason we’re unable to secure a debt limit is is that Barack Obama is a fundamentally dishonest person. He has to stop his lying before we can proceed.

It is indeed time to fight this group of idiot socialists and weak kneed RINOS. Th only facet we have is the House of Reps. and these ‘Americans’ need to stand up at every corner. Go ahead and vote to impeach the ..astard to set the tone.
De fund all the socialist programs, EPA, NEA, Planned Parenthood, etc. Take the money away and tell America what and why. Go to war with the “lame stream media” with the voice of FOX, Rush, etc. on our side.
The lines are drawn for God’s sake, so start the fight and communicate. The liberal left is only 20% of the population, but most of the 80% are stupid, ignorant of the real facts or too scared to fight. They need leaders who know how to lead and most with any sense will follow.

What good does it do for us to even talk about things like impeachment? Anything the House sends to Harry and the Senate never sees the light of day? Where would something like this go? We are pretty helpless at this point. America made it’s choice. Now we just have to watch and wait to see if the house of cards falls around our ears. Everyone seen 2016? I work in the environmental industry where we analyze environmental samples. In 2009/2010 the EPA ordered an Information Collection “Request” (ICR) for waste incinerators, coal-fired plants, utility plants, and more that included a “required” comprehensive set of tasks includied testing emissions from basicly all of our energy-producing plants. A large number of sampling and testing was part of the deal. The cost of all of this was billions of dollars: at their own expense. Then the EPA came up with regulated low levels that could be emitted (on organic and inorganic compounds, metal and Hg, aldehydes, dioxins & furans, and much more) that had to be met. When tne Industries called them on it the the EPA just denied it. A large part of BO’s agenda from the biginning was to destroy our cheap and enormous amount of energy right here in our country. Folks, it working. I could go… Read more »

I think everyone should read the book ” Dreams From My Real Father” or watch the documentary version on Netflix.
It tells about Obama’s real father, Frank Marshall Davis who was a Communist Party USA Propagandist.
It tells about his Marxist upbringing, his mother and Acorn.
This has some shocking footage about Communism , and Black persons in the USA and has things about Obama you would never have known.
If this had been exposed prior to his first term he would never have been elected.
The info is good and scary..

As one writer above pointed out, it is the “dumbing down” of the electorate that kept Obama in the WH. 95% of a groups’ vote is not racist?? Yes we need background checks, especially of presidential candidates who were raised in religion dedicated to destroying “infidels” , have forged birth certifcates, another person’s SS number, and a non-citizen parent. (Obama has Arabic heritage, not “African-American”) In 1948 film producer Cecil B. DeMille gave a talk to Detroit businessmen warning that America could only be destroyed from “within”. The speech was aimed mainly at unions and communism. but describes the very tactics that Obama is now using to destroy America. The speech is still available. Look for “While Rome Burns” June 1948

Might it be that the Republicans are rolling over in Congress because of some previous secret agreements with Obama and the Dems? It would seem that it is imminently important that this horror to America be impeached immediately and we have a Republican Speaker of the House who talks a little rough now and then, but it’s easy to talk the talk. We need someone who will walk the walk. Congress is letting us down and that is why I think they’re all in this deterioration of our great country together. It’s easy to say what should be done, but getting someone to do it is the answer. The only bright spot in all of this is that those who voted for rhis abomination to happen will suffer, too. Here’s an answer to your impeachment question from a response I’ve given prior today:

You would need both houses of Congress to be in Republican control for impeachment to work. All the House can do is bring charges, if they had the stomach for it, which they don’t. With the Senate in Democrat hands, even if there were a trial, Obama would be found not guilty of all charges. The results of our last election took impeachment off the table. As they say “Elections have consequences.”

Where are we headed? will we be content to be Germany 1935 or America 1774?

PaulE

Clearly Germany 1935 at this point. Too many of the voting public see nothing wrong with socialism and almost none have any idea what was going on in Germany in 1935. The two facts go hand in hand, which is why I say Germany 1935.

Paul, you are right on! The young voters had much to do with Obama’s rise to power, I believe. To them Hitler isn’t relevant. Also, we must remember that the second amendment made all the other amendments possible.

Obama is a socialist and has his own agenda which he will not budge from. The House of Representatives needs to stand firm regardless of anything. We must stand up to the enemy within, which is obamanation. He grew up as a follower of islam and believes in income redistribution. He grew up hating America and it shows. We are in grave danger thanks to this moron. Impeach him.

Until we can get a handle on our school systems, (teacher’s unions), we will continue to fund a substandard educational system that continues to “brainwash” our children that it is wrong to excel. It is important for conservatives to work to change this situation by working to get laws passed to limit the power of these unions and bring back education in our schools. I think this movement needs to start a a very local level by working to inform voters what the unions are actually doing to our schools through letter writing, emails and putting pressure on our state representatives to act. The time is right as I believe there will be more listeners in the near future as taxes continue to rise and regulations continue to stifle innovation. Even the uninformed will start paying attention when the government continues to try to tell us what to eat, what… Read more »

Randy, some of what you say is true. Much of the subject matter that I learned in school is either not being taught or is watered down. However in fairness to the teachers I know it is not their fault. The rules of what and how to teach comes from the State or Federal level. Another major problem is the less than stellar training in manners and respect that they receive at home. The majority of the kids I see as a substitute teacher are rude, surly, inconsiderate of others, and down right disrespectful. This is not some thing that can be corrected at the school level. If I tell a student that I will call home and tell his parents of his disrespect the answer I get is- So! They don’t care they let me act like this. I shudder when I think about the future of the country.… Read more »

I too have watched the direction this nation has been going in for the past 40 years. When I was a young women I was a Democrat. They paint a picture of a world through rose colored glasses. Everyone will have the good life everyone must be treated fairly and respected. Behind the scenes it is a very different picture. It is about power, money, and control. Especially control. Control of every part of a persons life, income, care, control of what the people hear and see. I clearly see parallels with the Democratic Party that are similar to what happened in Germany prior to world war two where the German people fell for the same lies to only be conquered and terrified. They too had a media that was totally in line with the government. It started with eliminating the weakest in their populations, unborn children, the mentally ill,… Read more »

Yes Elizabeth, everything you say is true. We are essentially repeating Germany’s history prior to WW2. However, so few people in this country have any knowledge of world history, that they don’t see all the many similarities being played out again today. That lack of knowledge I believe was intentional on the part of our education system over the last 40 years. You can’t get people to fall for the same old, tired socialist (progressive) dogma, if the population is well grounded in historical knowledge. Too many people would see right through the propaganda and realize where such ideology would ultimately lead. So the socialist / progressive movement had to infiltrate and ultimately end up controlling the education system of this country to remove or re-interpret much of the history that is taught. They carried out that part quite well. Now we have public school and most university graduates essentially… Read more »

Unfortunately, I don’t see any way out of this mess. All of the projections on why a democracy will not last made by the early students of this rise of democracy in the late 18th and early 19th century are coming to past. Tytler, Detouquville, Calhoune, all said essentially the same thing. When there are cultural and ethnic groups that can be exploited and demagoged that are the have nots, or in this case the nontaxpayers, they will be rallied to vote for their free living from the voting minority who pay for the taxes. This will increase until they system collapses. 60% of young women, 95% blacks, 75% of Hispanics, all of the governmental workers who need the gravey train to keep running, and the enviromental watermelons (green on the outside, red on the inside) who want capitalism to be destroyed, and you have the coalition and the unstoppable… Read more »

Sadly, the answer to your question is yes. All many of these type of people do is look out for themselves and what they can get from the government for “free”. Of course there is no such thing as free. We get to pay for it so they can have it for free.

Just look at the economy of any southern European nation. The private sector economy has been taxed and regulated out of existence. Children grow up with the goal of either being on the government payroll or on one of the many welfare doles. That’s the future of America under the current set of policies from the Obama administration.
